Courtyard by Marriott Shillong has appointed Chef Tapeswar Jana as its Executive Chef, effective October 2026. He brings over 14 years of culinary experience across luxury hospitality brands, with expertise in culinary operations, menu innovation, team leadership and guest dining experiences.

His professional journey includes leadership roles with Hilton, DoubleTree by Hilton, The Raintree, Hyatt Regency, InterContinental and ITC Hotels.

Experience across culinary operations and large-scale events

Throughout his career, Jana has led culinary teams across restaurants, banquets, in-room dining and outdoor catering operations. His expertise includes menu development, food cost management, food safety, destination weddings and large-scale events.

He has also received industry recognition at the Times Good Food Awards 2026, winning honours for Best Modern Rajasthani Restaurant and Best European Cuisine.

Strengthening the hotel’s dining experiences
