Atmosphere core elevates Christopher baker to vice president operations – Atmosphere hotels & resorts

Maldives, April 2026 – Atmosphere Core has announced the promotion of Christopher Baker as Vice President Operations – Atmosphere Hotels and Resorts. In this role, he will oversee operational performance and growth across the Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts brand portfolio in India, Italy, Maldives, and Nepal.

He will focus on driving efficiencies, elevating standards, and assisting with the successful opening of key properties within the expanding brand portfolio, including BORGO MONCHIERO HERITAGE by Atmosphere in Langhe Piedmont, Italy; STILLWOOD RETREAT, a Signature Atmosphere property in Coorg, India; and AARUNYA NATURE RESORT by Atmosphere in Banepa, Nepal.

With more than 30 years of international hospitality experience, Christopher brings extensive expertise across luxury and lifestyle resort environments. His career spans senior leadership roles with established global hospitality companies, such as Jumeirah Hotels & Resorts, Marriott Resorts, and Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, with a proven track record in driving financial performance, delivering exceptional guest experiences, and fostering innovation. He has been the recipient of multiple industry recognitions, including being named among the Top 100 Hotel General Managers in the World 2024 by Luxury Lifestyle Awards.

Originally from Australia and a graduate of the International College of Management, Sydney, he began his hospitality journey in hands-on operational roles across front office, concierge, housekeeping, and night management. This comprehensive foundation shaped his leadership philosophy, centred on curiosity, accountability, and human connection.

His early career progressed within one of Australia’s most complex integrated resorts, where he rapidly rose through senior operational leadership positions. At just 20 years old, he was appointed Night Manager, overseeing overnight hotel operations in close collaboration with security and casino teams. He later advanced to Executive Assistant Manager, playing a pivotal role in securing a Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star rating within his first year, making the property one of the first in Australia to achieve such a distinguished recognition.

In 2019, Daniel joined Atlantis, The Palm, where he delivered immediate and measurable impact. Over seven consecutive years, he led record-breaking front office upselling results, consistently outperforming market benchmarks and increasing revenue, while establishing new operational standards and elevating service culture across the resort.

In recognition of his sustained performance and leadership impact, Daniel was promoted to Vice President, Hotel Operations at Atlantis The Royal. In his current role, he oversees the Rooms Division with a strong emphasis on personalisation, operational excellence, and service culture transformation. Amit Mehta appointed as Vice President of Operations for Auro Hotels India

Amit will manage all operations across Auro Hotels’ India portfolio, including Surat Marriott Hotel, Courtyard by Marriott Surat and its future projects

Auro Hotels India has elevated Amit Mehta to the position of Vice President of Operations. Based in Surat, Gujarat, Amit brings close to 28 years of experience in the hospitality industry, where he has worked with brands such as Taj and Marriott. His extensive career includes 23 years of service with Taj Hotels, where he held key roles across Mumbai, Kolkata, New Delhi, Surajkund NCR, and Surat, before transitioning to Marriott.

Amit joined Auro Hotels India in 2019 as Area Director and General Manager at Surat Marriott Hotel, where he played a pivotal role in overseeing the company’s hotel operations and elevating service standards. In his new position as Vice President of Operations, Amit will manage all operations across Auro Hotels’ India portfolio, including Surat Marriott Hotel, Courtyard by Marriott Surat and future projects to expand the company’s footprint in the Indian hospitality market.

Don Crowe Joins Dream Golf as Senior VP, Operations

Former Bandon Dunes GM to Provide Guidance for Existing Resorts and New Properties

Chicago, IL (June 2024) – Dream Golf, a collection of golf resorts and new properties in development, today announced that longtime Bandon Dunes General Manager Don Crowe has been named Senior Vice President of Operations.  In his new position, Crowe will support operations at Bandon Dunes and Sand Valley resorts and establish operations teams, policies, and processes at Rodeo Dunes, under construction in Colorado, and additional properties currently being evaluated or developed.

“We can think of no one more capable or qualified than Don Crowe to create a consistent, guest-centered culture across the Dream Golf collection of resorts,” said Dream Golf Partner Chris Keiser. Chris and his brother Michael Keiser head Dream Golf, building on the ideas originated by their father, Mike Keiser, as he was developing Bandon Dunes.

Two veteran Bandon Dunes team members are now overseeing operations at the world-renowned resort on the South Coast of Oregon.  Jeff Simonds has been elevated to General Manager, and Ken Nice, former director of agronomy, is now the resort’s Managing Director.
