Polo Hotels launches ‘Clean Sohra, Green Sohra’ CSR initiative in Meghalaya

Campaign focuses on waste management and civic infrastructure in Cherrapunji.

Polo Hotels Group, through its two group companies, Hotel Polo Towers Limited, Shillong and Manor Floatel Limited, Kolkata, has launched the ‘Clean Sohra, Green Sohra’ campaign; an on-ground Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative aimed at strengthening waste management and civic infrastructure in Sohra (Cherrapunji), one of Meghalaya’s most visited destinations.

The initiative, channelled through Rotary Guwahati, Luit Trust and implemented in partnership with the traditional governing body Hima Sohra, was inaugurated at Polo Resort, Cherrapunjee, on Tuesday, 31 March 2025, at 10:30 AM, with strong participation from the local community.

Assets Donated to Hima Sohra

As part of the campaign, the following assets have been contributed for operational use by Hima Sohra:

● 1 Tata 612 Tipper Truck – for waste collection and transport
● 4 Bajaj Pulsar Motorcycles – for patrolling and monitoring
● Keep Sohra Clean Sign Boards – for public awareness across key locations
