Sterling Funds 38 Dialysis Machines, Creating Capacity for 34,200 Treatments a Year Beyond the Metros
/Sterling Holiday Resorts Limited has funded 38 dialysis machines across 19 hospitals and healthcare institutions in seven states, creating capacity for an estimated 34,200 treatments a year, much of it in Tier II and Tier III towns where patients often travel long distances for renal care. The company has committed ₹2.25 crore to the project across FY2024-25 and FY2025-26.
For a hospitality company whose resorts sit in many of the same smaller destinations, the programme is a clear example of CSR spend being measured by the lasting capacity it creates rather than the cheque alone.
Taking renal care beyond the metros
Patients who need dialysis several times a week can face repeated travel, lost working hours and significant costs for their families. Sterling’s programme places machines closer to where patients live, across government hospitals, medical colleges, district hospitals and community healthcare institutions in Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Uttarakhand, Andhra Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.
According to the company, the initiative has delivered reported patient savings of approximately ₹2.05 crore and created 260 local employment opportunities across the healthcare facilities it supports.
“Through our CSR initiatives, we have already supported 38 dialysis machines across 19 healthcare institutions, creating capacity for approximately 34,200 treatments every year, particularly in communities where access to specialised healthcare can be challenging. What makes this meaningful is its ability to endure. Each machine becomes a community healthcare asset that can serve patients year after year—reducing travel, easing the financial burden on families and strengthening healthcare capacity where it is needed most,” said Vikram Lalvani, Managing Director & CEO, Sterling Holiday Resorts Limited.
“For us, that is the real measure of meaningful CSR: not simply what we spend, but the capacity we create and the impact that continues long after the investment is made.”
