BANGALORE,  JULY 2026 - Continuing its commitment to celebrating India's rich culinary heritage, Grand Mercure Bangalore brings The Anglo-Indian Heritage Table. A limited-period culinary experience curated in collaboration with award-winning cookbook author, culinary researcher, and food consultant Bridget White-Kumar.

Drawing from recipes that evolved across Dak Bungalows, Army Camps, Railways, and Country Clubs during the British Raj, the specially curated menu brings together a selection of Anglo-Indian classics that reflect the cuisine's distinctive blend of Indian and European influences. Rooted in family recipes and historical research, the experience offers guests an opportunity to rediscover a culinary tradition shaped by generations of cultural exchange and one that has played a significant role in India's gastronomic heritage.

The culinary experience will be showcased across two of the hotel's signature dining venues. Guests can indulge in a specially curated dinner buffet at The Verandah on 31st July and 1st August, featuring a selection of Anglo-Indian classics, followed by a specially curated Sunday Brunch buffet at By The Blue on 2nd August, which also marks World Anglo-Indian Day, featuring an expanded spread of heritage favourites.

The Flavours of Gujarati and Rajasthani Home Cooking at Grand Mercure Bangalore

This July, discover the authentic flavours of Gujarat and Rajasthan through the recipes of Ms. Susheela Kankariya, whose passion for preserving regional cooking traditions comes alive in a menu inspired by generations of home cooking.

The specially curated menu brings together regional favourites, prepared using traditional recipes and fresh ingredients. Guests can enjoy live stations serving Mini Ragada Pattice, Papdi Chaat, Thepla and Bajra Roti, alongside classics such as Khandvi, Handvo, Dhokla and Kachori. The experience continues with comforting dishes including Khichdi Kadhi, Dal Dhokli, Gatte ki Sabzi, Gatte ka Pulao, Ker Sangri, Tawa Vegetables, Missi Roti and Drumstick Thepla, followed by traditional desserts such as Moong Dal Halwa, Mohanthal, Sweet Khichda, Lauki Halwa, Coconut Laddoo, Churma and Mango Shikan.

Appointment | Prabal Srivastava joins Grand Mercure, Vadodara Surya Palace as General Manager

Grand Mercure Vadodara Surya Palace has appointed Prabal Srivastava as the new General Manager. Srivastava took on his duties at the hotel beginning February, 2021.

He comes with over 20 years of Hospitality experience working with various brands including The Oberoi Group of Hotels and Resorts, The Taj Hotels and The Lalit Hotels.

In his most recent assignment, Srivastava was General Manager of Golkonda Hotels & Resort, one of the oldest Business Hotels in Hyderabad with room inventory of 139. He holds a degree in Hotel Management from Mangalore University.
