Druma Brings Contemporary Vegetarian Dining to Jayanagar, Bengaluru

Druma, a new vegetarian restaurant in Jayanagar, Bengaluru, offers a contemporary take on vegetarian dining, with a menu that spans Indian, South Indian, Pan Asian and global influences. Located at the Cosmopolitan Club in Jayanagar 4th Block, the 60-cover restaurant is built around the idea of “humble dining”, placing good produce, honest flavours and thoughtful cooking at the heart of the experience.

Spread across 2,100 sq. ft., the space takes its cues from Kannada culture and South Indian architectural heritage, interpreted through an earthy, contemporary design. The result is a relaxed and intimate setting aimed at diners who want to explore vegetarian food beyond conventional formats.

The menu’s signature dishes take familiar ingredients and give them a new shape. The Mushroom Cappuccino, Khari pairs a creamy mushroom soup with light milk foam and crisp Indian khari, while the Samosa Mille Feuille Chaat layers samosa pastry with potato and black tea-infused pindi chole. The Tandoori Soya Chaap is stuffed with dry fruits, cheese and herbs before being coated in spiced yoghurt and chargrilled.

Global accents run through the menu as well, often paired with distinctly Indian elements. The Pesto Kunafa Tofu combines crisp kunafa with tofu, pesto, hummus and Cajun seasoning, and the Chettinad Paneer Quesadilla swaps the usual tortilla for flaky Malabar parotta. The Jackfruit BBQ Slider, meanwhile, is made with slow-cooked jackfruit and BBQ sauce.

Elsewhere, the Stuffed Paneer Palak sees dry fruit-stuffed paneer served with palak poured at the table, and the Alleppey Mango Curry offers a lighter preparation of vegetables, mango, coconut and gentle spices. Across the menu, the aim is to bring familiar ingredients into new formats without losing their character.

With its produce-led menu, inventive signature dishes and contemporary reading of familiar flavours, Druma adds a fresh vegetarian dining experience to Jayanagar, and gives the neighbourhood a new address for those who like their vegetarian food with a little more imagination.
