Sayaji Kolhapur Celebrates Chinese New Year 2026 with a Grand “Year of the Horse” Chinese Food Festival

February 2026 : Moon Tree Cafe at Sayaji Kolhapur announces a vibrant celebration of the Chinese New Year with a special “Year of the Horse” Chinese Food Festival from 17th February to 1st March 2026. Inspired by the rich traditions of the lunisolar Chinese calendar, the festival brings together authentic flavours, cultural symbolism, and immersive festive decor to welcome a year that represents action, freedom, confidence, and forward momentum.

Chinese New Year marks the beginning of a new lunar cycle and is among the most significant celebrations in Chinese culture. Each year in the Chinese zodiac is associated with one of twelve animals, influencing the spirit and energy of the year ahead. 2026 ushers in the Year of the Horse, symbolizing strength, determination, independence, and progress making it an ideal time to embrace new beginnings and positive change.

The venue will be transformed into a festive Chinese setting adorned in traditional red decor . The immersive ambience will feature lantern hangings, themed gates, intricate paper cut-outs, and culturally inspired elements reflecting authentic Chinese traditions. The highlight of the festival is an especially curated menu featuring an extensive selection of authentic and contemporary Chinese delicacies. The menu includes both vegetarian and non-vegetarian preparations such as Steamed Vegetable Jiaozi, Kimchi-Style Lotus Stem, Phoenix Golden Prawns, Tai Pai Chicken, Xiang Mao Ji Rou Chuan, Green Miso Mushroom & Tofu, Hong Shao Ji, along with an assortment of Sushi and Dim Sum.
