Sherry Padda joins as Hotel Manager at Grand Hyatt Mumbai Hotel and Residences

Grand Hyatt Mumbai Hotel and Residences, is pleased to welcome Sherry Padda, who will take on the role of Hotel Manager of this luxury 5-star property effective 1st November 2022.

Sherry’s journey in the hospitality industry commenced 22 years ago as an Assistant Manager in Sales at The Bogmallo Beach Resort in Goa, before she shifted to Front Office operations as a Duty Manager at Taj Residency, Cochin. Sherry’s career has seen her travel the length of India, with opportunities presented in various locations such as Cochin, Mumbai, Delhi, and Bangalore. Ms. Padda’s most recent stint was with The Leela Palace, New Delhi, Chanakyapuri, as an Executive Assistant Manager.  

On the professional front, Sherry has had some memorable moments, such as being a representative as the only lady official attaché for the Prime Minister and his wife’s visit.

On joining, Sherry states, “I am proud to be joining the Hyatt Family and Grand Hyatt Mumbai Hotel and Residences as a Hotel Manager and promise to deliver luxury experiences to our patrons and create memorable moments for our Guests and Colleagues.”

Apart from work, Sherry can be seen crooning the best hits of Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle. She is also a good athlete, enjoys playing badminton and chess with her kids, as well reading non-fictional books. Sherry also has a green thumb, with her home housing a unique collection of exotic plants.


Tarun Arora has been appointed as Chef De Cuisine of Events at Andaz Delhi

Tarun Arora has been appointed as the Chef De Cuisine of Events at Andaz Delhi – a luxury lifestyle hotel by Hyatt. With over 15 years of experience across the globe from the US to Spain, Italy, and France with topmost luxury brands like Imperial, Carnival Cruises, Indigo, Pullman and Novotel, Chef Tarun has showcased his skills and talent at numerous events and platforms, over the years.

Tarun Arora began his career in the Food and Beverage industry in 2008, as an Executive Trainee and Demi Chef De Partie at Hotel Imperial, New Delhi. Over the next few years, he worked at The Carnival Cruise Lines, Miami, USA, from 2011 till 2012 as Demi Chef De Partie in the main galley and then as a Steakhouse Cook at Fahrenheit 555, Carnival Cruise Lines during the years 2012-2014.

Post which, he worked at the Pullman and Novotel Airport hotel in Delhi,  where he initially served as a Chef De Partie in 2014-2015, got promoted as a Junior Sous Chef in 2016, as the Sous Chef for Events from April 2017 to March 2019 and then as the Chef De Cuisine for Events from April 2019 till August 2020. He then shifted to Andaz Delhi, where he initially worked as the Chef De Cuisine at AnnaMaya, the Modern Foodhall at Andaz Delhi.

On his appointment, Tarun Arora says: “I am delighted to begin my wonderful journey at Andaz Delhi and be a part of this wonderful organisation. I believe that there’s always a way, if you’re committed and I’m looking forward to serve the hotel and our guests, and progress further at Andaz.

He holds a postgraduate degree in Bachelors of Science in Hospitality and Hotel Administration from IHM Gurdaspur, Punjab affiliated to National Council for Hotel Management Catering and Technology, Pusa, New Delhi and IGNOU. He also received the Certificate of Appreciation for the Immense Contribution towards the IFCA Indian Federation of Culinary Association Event. Chef Tarun also had a professional training under Ecole Ducasse at Pullman Hotel on the secrets of the finest culinary arts and gastronomy.

She joined Hyatt family in 2019 at Grand Hyatt Gurgaon, a pre-opening property at the millennium city of India. Hyderabad, November 2022: Novotel Hyderabad Convention Centre (NHCC) & Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) announced the elevation of MrAlwaj Hattur as the Director, of Security for the property. In his present role, he will be responsible to lead the team of professionals and maintain a glitch-free experience by planning and implementing security protocol along with various Events & Activities for the property in line with global security standards. 

Alwaj has a proven track record of 16 years of extensive experience in Security Detailing and handling VVIP security protocols. Mr. Ahmad an accomplished professional, with more than 20 years of experience in hospitality management joins Clarks Safari. During his work tenure, he has served the hospitality sector from core operations to business development. 

As General Manager of Sales for Clarks Safari Pushkar, he will be responsible for managing the property, taking care of general administrations, increasing revenues, implementing new policies, training of sales manpower, representing the brand on different platforms, etc.

He started his career with Jal Mahal, Jaipur as a reservation supervisor. From there he worked with many reputed brands like Regenta Resort, Gateway resort, etc. His last assignment was in the capacity of General Manager, at Aura a boutique property in Ajmer. He was responsible for increasing the revenue, managing the property, and hiring and training manpower. During his work tenure, the hotel registered remarkable growth in sales. 

An MBA graduate from, Sikkim Manipal University with a specialization in hospitality, would be responsible for implementing sustainable tourism practices on the property. He will also push local employment and will strengthen the relationship with corporate and government departments.

Soby George has been appointed as the General Manager at Gokulam Grand Resort and Spa Kumarakum, Kerala

Soby will be responsible to bring innovation and overall managing operations to Gokulam Grand with his fresh perspective

Before transferring to Gokulam Grand Resort and Spa Kumarakum, Soby was the General Manager at Gokulam Grand Turtle on The Beach, Kovalam.

He relocated ten years back from Ireland and worked with Turtle on the Beach Resort, Kovalam and Estuary Island Resort and Spa Poovar, Kerala. Soby has 19 years’ experience in Ireland and India in various luxury, business and leisure five-star hotels and Resorts. Soby George was previously associated with global brands like Westin Dublin, Park Plaza Dublin, Clontarf Castle Dublin and Burlington Hotel Dublin, one of the biggest and Busiest hotels in Europe.

Mr George, after completing his Bachelor of commerce he moved to Dublin, Ireland to pursue his Hospitality Management and International Leadership Management from American College Dublin, Lynn University. He continued to work in various luxury resorts and Hotels in Ireland. After 8 years of working in Ireland as Duty Manager and Night Manager for The Westin Dublin, Park Plaza Dublin, Clontarf Castle Dublin and Burlington Hotel Dublin, he returns home in 2011 to join Turtle on the Beach Resort Kovalam which was managed by JHM Interstate Hotels LLC, now brought by Gokulam Group. One of his major of his major achievements would be to get five-star classification certificate for Estuary Island Resort Poovar from three star.
