Editor: Tell us about your journey. How did it all start?

An operations leader with nearly 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry. Started my career at Hyatt Regency New Delhi as a GSA, moving forward as a Concierge Supervisor at Taj Lands’ End Mumbai and pre-opening Manager for Golden Tulip, Hyatt Regency, Taj Swarna Amritsar, currently working as Front Office Manager at Sayaji Hotel Indore. An out-of-the-box thinker with excellent planning, execution, and people management skills.

Editor: What do you think it takes to succeed in this industry?

Hard and honest work will succeed you in life and your career. There should a passion in yourself and you should love your job whatever you are doing. There is should be NO No rather than an alternative for that work. I feel Attitude is only one of the pillars and the others which are equally important are learning agility, respect, and sense of belongingness, and last but not least is Stability. I stress upon stability as it’s one thing that is slowly going off from industry and we see people are hopping every now and then without even giving time devotion and dedication to the workplace.

Editor: What are the attributes you look for while selecting or hiring?  If someone wants to work with you, what should they do?

Honesty is the foremost thing I look into an employee. Knowledge of the product can be given but the attitude of the candidate should be rite. Eager to learn things.

New Generation Hotel management graduates are impatient and they jump to quick conclusions, this should be taught by the teachers of IHM while grooming them before joining the industry.

Editor: What are some of the trends you see impacting the hospitality industry?

The current Covid times has turned the hospitality industry upside down, the key trends which are impacting are Safety and hygiene, Rationalization of resources, and also the optimization of cost structures which directly impact the financial health of every hotel company.

Editor: Two things you would like to change in the industry.

Perception of people towards the work requirement in the industry.

Companies should set clear goals for the progress of an individual for becoming global leaders.

Editor: What is the single factor that got you your promotion?

Hard Work, Patience, and passion what you do.
