Mysuru September 2025 :ibis Styles Mysuru marked its first anniversary with a grand celebration that reflected both the city’s vibrancy and the hotel’s distinctive character. To honour the milestone, the property hosted an energetic Super Bike Rally in partnership with Special Initiative Riders (SIR), a Bengaluru-based community of over 200 superbike enthusiasts founded in 2018.

The celebrations began early in the morning with a gathering of riders, hotel associates, and guests at ibis Styles Mysuru. Teachers’ Day Celebrated with Great Enthusiasm at IHM Ranchi

Diageo India signs MOU with the Tourism & Hospitality Skill Council to train students under its ‘Learning for Life’ programme

Bengaluru, September 2025: Diageo India (United Spirits Ltd.), among the country’s leading alcobev companies, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Tourism and Hospitality Skill Council (THSC) to train 300 students under its ‘Learning for Life’ programme. The MoU signing was presided over by Praveen Someshwar, MD & CEO, Diageo India, Rajan Bahadur, CEO, THSC, Mr. Navdeep Singh Mehram, Vice President - CSR & Sustainability, Diageo India and Mr. Vaibhav Verma, Vice President-Industry Engagement, THSC. The classroom-based training programme will be conducted at THSC-affiliated centres in Bengaluru by certified trainers and assessors. Designed as a short-term skilling initiative for unemployed and underprivileged youth, it is aligned with the National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF). The curriculum covers technical training, communication, digital literacy, and soft skills to prepare candidates for roles in the hospitality, business, and service sectors, with the objective of enhancing employability and bridging industry skill gaps. Upon completion, participants will undergo assessment and certification by THSC, ensuring credibility and industry recognition. With its strong network of over 750 industry partners, THSC will also facilitate placements and apprenticeships, enabling candidates to secure meaningful employment across hotels, restaurants, quick-service chains, and allied services.

JW Marriott Pune Marks Second Phase of Project Pranita – A road to Empowerment.

It is aligned with the governments foresight as well as UN initiative Serve 360 standing on four pillars of education, empowerment, equip with experience and employment opportunities in the hospitality industry. Building on the success of the initial phase, this initiative, inspired by efforts to promote gender equality and education for women, continues to offer a structured program that combines academic sponsorship with hands-on training, fostering career growth for participants.

Project Pranita emphasizes on the growth of young women aged between 18 to 24 years who have completed their 10th to 12th grade education. Candidates are sourced through partnerships with local schools, government institutions, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and skill development centers focused on girl child development. The selection process involves collaboration with these partners as well as a conversation with the Leadership of JW Marriott Pune

Selected participants undergo a comprehensive orientation in the organization as well as an enrollment in a fully sponsored Bachelor of Arts in Tourism Studies from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). This step includes company policies, and program details. The three-year program integrates practical work experience with academic progress: the first year includes rotational training across core operational areas, the second year offers skill specialization, and the third year extends all concepts of experience in chosen areas.

Weekly IGNOU coaching sessions are held, performance is tracked through monthly Review and Action Plan (RAP) sessions with the Learning & Development team and department heads, alongside quarterly reviews with HR and operations leaders. Each scholar is paired with a mentor for guidance on work and studies. Remedial support addresses challenges, and other progressive processes.

The program aligns with National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) standards. Additional benefits include subsidized accommodation, medical insurance and life insurance. The program emphasizes skill development in communication, problem-solving, teamwork, and leadership, offering three years of practical experience to enhance employability.

Upon completion, scholars are evaluated receiving recognition detailing their work experience. Graduates are considered for available roles based on performance and business needs, including a development plan.

In its second phase, JW Marriott Pune continues to support four scholars: Ashlesha Thakkar, Wilfortis Nongrum, Wandashisha Kharkongor, and Ibanphyrnai Suting; who were welcomed with starter kits including prerequisites for this journey. With an 8% year-on-year revenue growth to ₹1,392 million and a robust 25% rise in EBITDA to ₹514 million, Sterling continues to lead the way in delivering upscale experiential hospitality across India. On the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami, a Dahi Handi Breaking Competition was organized at the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Ranchi. In this competition, the boys’ teams Shakti, Josh, and Umeed and the girls’ Laxmibai team participated.

In the event, the girls’ Laxmibai team broke the handi in just 4 minutes, defeating the boys’ teams to claim victory. Among the boys, after two attempts, Team Shakti successfully broke the handi in 6 minutes and secured the win. As prizes, the winning teams were awarded cash rewards. The event was thoroughly enjoyed by all present, and the entire campus resonated with chants of “Jai Kanhaiya Lal Ki” and “Krishna Gopal Ki.”
