Exclusive Interview | Prakash K., Co-Founder, dhi Hospitality
/ Editor Hospemag“At dhi Hospitality, we help hotels translate data into practical, forward-thinking strategies, combining analytics with real-world expertise to drive sustainable growth and stronger market positioning.”

What inspired you to launch dhi Hospitality, and what gap in the industry are you aiming to fill?
We saw hotel owners and operators working tirelessly, yet many struggled with fragmented strategies, disconnected systems, and limited access to the right expertise. Whether independent properties, regional brands, or established players, caught between complex technologies, shifting market dynamics, and the ongoing challenge of building a strong brand presence. dhi Hospitality was created to bring all the pieces together—simplifying complexity, aligning strategies, and equipping hotels with the clarity and tools to stay competitive and grow sustainably.
You have extensive experience in revenue strategy. How do you see the role of data-driven decision-making evolving in hospitality?
Hospitality is catching up in data-driven decision-making, but it’s still far behind other industries in truly leveraging data. Many tools remain reactive rather than proactive, missing opportunities to anticipate market shifts. Even the most advanced solutions often feel outdated—built for the industry’s past, not its future. At dhi Hospitality, we help hotels translate data into practical, forward-thinking strategies, combining analytics with real-world expertise to drive sustainable growth and stronger market positioning.
You’ve worked with global hospitality giants like Marriott, Accor, and Minor Hotels. How has this shaped your approach to building a hospitality consultancy?
Working with global brands reinforced the importance of strong commercial frameworks, but it also showed us that true success comes from adaptability. No two hotels are the same, and cookie-cutter solutions don’t work. Our approach takes the best of international best practices and adapts them to hotels aiming to strengthen their market position, whether they’re independent properties, growing regional brands, or established players looking to reposition. It’s about creating customized, scalable strategies that make a real impact.
Technology is transforming hospitality management. What innovations do you believe will have the biggest impact on hotel operations in the coming years?
Technology should simplify operations, not complicate them. Many solutions today are fragmented, forcing hotels to juggle multiple systems. That’s why we advocate for an Integrated Commercial Solution approach—helping hotels unify their revenue, distribution, and marketing strategies into one seamless system. The future isn’t just about more technology; it’s about smarter, more connected systems that empower hoteliers to focus on what matters most—the guest experience.
How do you balance revenue growth with guest experience to ensure long-term success for hospitality brands?
Long-term success in hospitality isn’t just about achieving the numbers or adapting to current trends—it’s about building a brand that stands the test of time. A well-structured commercial strategy ensures that every decision, from pricing to service delivery, strengthens the hotel’s identity and long-term vision. By creating meaningful guest connections and staying ahead of market shifts, hotels do more than stay competitive—they build lasting brand equity and a foundation for sustainable growth.
What are the biggest challenges hotel owners face today in commercial strategy, and how does dhi Hospitality help navigate them?
Hotel owners and operators today face rising costs, shifting guest expectations, and an increasingly competitive market. Many find themselves reacting to challenges rather than leading with a clear, cohesive strategy. We help hotels define their positioning, strengthen their brand story, and align their commercial strategy with long-term success. Whether it’s refining their market presence or repositioning for new opportunities, we ensure they stay competitive, profitable, and true to their vision.
Looking ahead, what are your future plans for dhi Hospitality, and how do you envision its impact on the global hospitality industry?
Our vision is to empower hotels by bringing all the pieces together—integrating strategy, operations, and technology to create a seamless, results-driven approach. We aim to foster a more collaborative hospitality ecosystem where hotels of all sizes can compete confidently, adapt proactively, and drive sustainable growth. By refining strategies, sharing insights, and strengthening partnerships, we’re committed to shaping a smarter, more resilient future for the industry.

In the early days, I was just passionate—I wasn’t yet experienced. I trusted the wrong advisors, hired the wrong teams, spent money where I shouldn’t have, and ignored my gut. The result? A heavy financial hit and a lot of emotional turmoil. But those were also the most powerful years of learning.
Success isn’t just about talent; it’s about having the right people in your corner.

The only advice I can give to young chefs is that – Be humble, put your head down and work you’re a** off. When given chance to work with the best, TAKE IT! Don’t involve your personal ego when you deal with people who are way more experienced than you. Ask questions, steal recipes, don’t say no to difficult task, be ready to clean floor and dishes but make the most of the opportunity given to you.
