Tell us about your journey. How did it all start?

"The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step". ...so it started the same way...after completing my degree in hospitality studies i was not sure which hotel property I will start working with. But the first hotel i got was really wonderful, Holiday in Mumbai, international airport hotel. I joined the In Room Dining department as a food and beverage associate. So after working for around a year and half so I thought ,there was a time for change so I moved to a suburb hotel in front office as front office associate. After a year of working I started developing interest in academics so I decided to try my hand at teaching in colleges.

What do you think it takes to succeed in this industry?

Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do. You need to be patient. Slowly and steadily the whole thing will be built. The hospitality industry has a lot of things to offer more than any other. I feel wherever there is any food and beverage work associated with ,the hospitality person will definitely have an opportunity to work and grow.

There are various skills and etiquettes one must develop to excel in the industry, but if I want to give particularly 5 skill then it will be:

What are the attributes you look for while selecting or hiring?

As per the role of the industry and it's requirement a person which we look at needs to be 

1. A interest to Learn

2. Passionate about his work

& 3. A person with sound basic knowledge

How do you think AI will impact our industry? Specific jobs, processes etc?

Definitely the world is on the verge of getting a new venture, or a new age. Gone are the times when computers started ruling the business and organisations. AI is the new new of today's time.

I mean to say that the AI model is not only capturing a business of any person by letting them the all the details of anything they wish. Which is slowly going to remove the human touch and maybe you may see a robot taking over the reception or the kitchen counter. A lot of hotels and hospitality management are testing the same. So the time is not that far...

What is the one app / tech solution you would love to see?

Surely maybe, AI will be the platform based app that will be helpful for daily purpose and also give a best solution for the same. Yes the time has come for Man And Machine has work together.
