Bastian Hospitality Unveils Mumbai’s First Beach Club in Juhu, Bringing Global Beach Culture to the City

Bastian Hospitality, helmed by Mr Ranjit Bindra, unveiled Mumbai’s first true beach club in Juhu, setting a new benchmark in experiential luxury. Introducing the culture of elevated, day-led indulgence to the city, the brand brings the indulgent spirit of Saint-Tropez beach culture to India’s evolving lifestyle landscape.

Bastian Hospitality is guided by a philosophy of luxury that extends beyond food, focusing on delivering elevated experiences for its guests. This venture aims to redefine luxury leisure by blending elevated culinary offerings with beachfront entertainment, positioning Bastian as the city’s go-to beach lifestyle destination and a space that must be experienced to be fully appreciated.

Talking about the launch, *Mr Ranjit Bindra, Founder and CEO of Bastian Hospitality*, said, “The beach club is a personal dream shaped by years of travelling and experiencing beach cultures around the world. For Mumbaikars, the beach has always been an integral part of the city’s fabric, but the city never had a destination that truly brought this experience alive.” He further added, “With Bastian Beach Club, we are spearheading a day-led entertainment format in a city known largely for nightlife, while also pushing Mumbai forward as a destination for tourism and beachside dining. Our vision is to move hospitality beyond evenings and create an all-day curated lifestyle by the shore, bringing together great food, music, and thoughtfully integrated wellness under one roof.”

Designed by *Minal Chopra*, the space draws inspiration from European coastal aesthetics, combining influences from Ibiza, Mykonos and Saint-Tropez with a distinctly bold Bombay sensibility. The architecture embraces open layouts, natural light and sea-facing views to create a relaxed and luxurious environment that transitions from the calm daytime energy to high-spirited evenings.

Guests can look forward to an immersive hospitality experience that seamlessly blends leisure, wellness, and indulgence. Envisioned as a versatile destination, the space lends itself with ease to family day outings and leisurely weekend and brunches with family and friends, complemented by curated experiential activities for kids and families. As the day unfolds, the destination transitions into golden-hour sunset seatings and elegant sundowners, followed by thoughtfully crafted evening parties and intimate social gatherings, making it a place inclusive to all.

With the Beach Club, Bastian Hospitality evolves into a larger lifestyle experience format, moving beyond restaurants and nightlife to create a space where people can spend an entire day by the sea. Bringing a global beach club culture to Mumbai, the destination blends great food, relaxed leisure, wellness and lively evenings, all with the signature Bastian energy.

Introducing Sweeney - Where Home Recipes Meet Modern Craft A Home for Thai & European Cuisine, Rediscovered & Reimagined

Born out of extensive research, return visits, and time spent in kitchens that rarely call themselves restaurants, Sweeney brings together home-style Thai and European cooking in a way that feels both deeply familiar and newly alive. This food is shaped by memory, repetition and care - recipes rediscovered from homes, preserved with respect, and reimagined for the table today.

At Sweeney“home” is not a concept; it is the starting point. From Southern and Northern Thai households, where meals revolve around shared pots, rice, and instinctive balance, to Italian kitchens of nonnas, where food is cooked slowly, generously, and without performance, every dish begins with how food is truly lived with. The menu reflects months of immersion into domestic kitchens — not as nostalgia, but as living practice.

Sharing her vision, Malaika Arora says, “Sweeney is the taste of comfort - the flavours I return to wherever I am in the world. It’s a second home that feels warm, instinctive and lived-in — where you arrive hungry, stay longer than planned, and leave feeling quietly looked after.”

Dhaval Udeshi adds, “Sweeney was built through research and return — understanding how food is actually cooked at home, and how craft is learned at the bar. It preserves what deserves protection, while actively building the next generation of talent.”

The kitchen is rooted in domestic Thai traditions - bold, coconut-rich Southern flavours layered with turmeric and fermented pastes, alongside the gentler, herb-forward warmth of Northern Lanna cuisine. Complementing this is an intimate European narrative, beginning with Italian home cooking - olive-oil-rich preparations, slow-simmered sauces, handmade pastas - gently extended with subtle French refinement and Mexican warmth. The result is a menu of curries built for sharing, herb-laced grills, rice-led plates, slow-cooked meats, and pastas that comfort rather than perform - dishes that impress as a consequence, not an intention.

Chef Ravraj Singh Chandok shares, “The focus is on preservation and reinvention — carrying these home-style dishes forward with care, technique, and intention.”
If the kitchen looks to inheritance, the bar looks to the future. Designed as a women-led platform and exchange programme, the bar functions as an incubator for bartenders of tomorrow. Led by Beverage Director Fay Barretto, the drinks programme is anchored in modern classics, precision, balance, and discipline - where learning happens during service, under pressure, behind the counter. Each cycle, one drink is quietly entrusted to a bartender in becoming, held to the same uncompromising standard as the rest.

The space mirrors this philosophy — a slow reveal of sage green interiors, layered natural textures, warm shifting light, intimate dining pockets, and a seamless alfresco extension. It is calm yet alive, refined yet welcoming.Sweeney does not rush you. It offers consistency, quiet confidence, and food that tastes as it should.

The kitchen remembers.
The bar becomes.

Sweeney is where home cooking is honoured and craft is built for the future.

Sterling Launches Sterling Saryu Ayodhya, Its Second Hotel in the Holy City

Deepening destination expertise in Ayodhya with a comfort-led retreat rooted in faith, heritage and ease

Chennai, February, 2026: Sterling Holiday Resorts announced the opening of Sterling Saryu Ayodhya, its second resort in Ayodhya, reinforcing its destination-led growth strategy in one of India’s most significant spiritual hubs. The launch advances Sterling’s focus on building high-intent travel circuits across heritage and pilgrimage India—grounded in consistent service, trusted standards, and experiences rooted in place.

Ayodhya has witnessed a sharp rise in visitor movement, supported by improved connectivity, upgraded infrastructure, and a renewed national focus on cultural and faith-led tourism. As pilgrimage travel scales up—with multi-generational families, senior travellers and group movement—comfort, reliability and calm have become as important as proximity. Sterling Saryu Ayodhya responds to this shift by expanding choice and capacity for travellers seeking dependable, well-run stays—especially during peak movement seasons—while keeping the experience centred on ease, care and reassurance.

Inspired by the spiritual identity of the city and named after the sacred River Saryu, Sterling Saryu Ayodhya has been envisioned as a restful retreat for faith-led journeys. The resort offers thoughtfully planned accommodations—from Cocoon Rooms created for deep rest to Junior Suites suited for longer stays—aligned to the rhythm of pilgrimage days where early mornings, temple circuits and long walks make restorative sleep essential.

Located within convenient reach of Ayodhya’s key temples, ghats and transport hubs, the retreat combines access with ease. The all-day dining restaurant, The Saryu Café, serves familiar, wholesome vegetarian flavours, while calm common areas and a well-appointed banquet hall make the property equally suited for spiritual group travel, family gatherings and focused meetings.

Speaking on the launch, Vikram Lalvani, Managing Director & CEO, Sterling Holiday Resorts, said: “Ayodhya is a defining chapter in India’s pilgrimage landscape—where faith-led travel is being shaped by stronger infrastructure and rising demand. With Sterling Saryu Ayodhya—our second resort in the city—we are deepening destination depth to serve travellers with comfort, calm and reliability, delivered with warmth. At Sterling, we believe hospitality is not just about a stay—it’s about how you make people feel, especially in a destination where the journey is as emotional as it is spiritual.”

From Kanpur to Lucknow to Agra, Sidewalk’s Newest Address Reflects a Growing Neighborhood Cafe Brand

There’s a certain kind of cafe you begin visiting without quite noticing when it becomes yours. You don’t go for a launch, a trend, or a reason, you go because it fits into your day. Sidewalk has been quietly becoming that kind of place across North India, and with the opening of its second outlet in Agra, the neighbourhood café brand continues its steady, thoughtful rise across Tier 2 cities.

Founded in 2022 by Sagar Bhatia and Jaivardhan Bhatia under the Bhatia Hospitality Group, Sidewalk was envisioned as something more intimate than the idea of a third space. While other cafes position themselves as the third place after your home and work, Sidewalk imagines itself as your second home. A place designed for everyday use: mornings that begin slowly, afternoons that stretch naturally, and evenings that don’t feel rushed. From the outset, the idea was never to create a destination café, but one that becomes part of routine, familiar, welcoming, and easy to return to.

What began in Kanpur in 2022, Sidewalk has steadily expanded its footprint across Lucknow and Agra, now spanning five outlets across the three cities. The brand has found resonance in places that are growing rapidly yet still value comfort and community. While the brand brings the design sensibility, menu depth, and coffee culture often associated with Tier 1 cafés, it remains intentionally approachable. The crowd reflects this balance: friends catching up, solo visitors working, families sharing a meal, and regulars who come back not for novelty, but for consistency.

The brand’s newest Agra address marks its second outlet in the city and offers its most expansive expression yet. Designed as a large, house-style café, the space features playful interiors, bold steel details, and an open, high-energy layout that still feels warm and intuitive. Located within a residential neighbourhood, the space reflects Agra’s everyday rhythm, inviting people to linger over laptops, conversations, and unhurried meals.

Food at Sidewalk is guided by comfort, familiarity, and choice. Breakfast favorites include maple-drizzled pancakes, flaky croissants, and the *Vegan Brekkie Burrito Wrap, while the all-day menu spans gourmet burgers, loaded sandwiches, wood-fired pizzas, peri-peri fries, and freshly baked breads and desserts such as focaccia, cheesecakes, and brownies. Customization from breads to fillings, allows guests to shape meals to their preferences, turning many dishes into repeat orders rather than one-time indulgences.

Coffee remains central to the Sidewalk experience. Using coffee sourced from Chikmagalur and Kohima, the café serves handcrafted drinks like the brown butter latte, cinnamon-spiced cappuccino, and house drip Vietnamese, alongside a manual brew bar, cold foam cold brews, and seasonal matcha creations including the much-loved iced mango matcha.

Inclusivity at Sidewalk is woven quietly into the experience. Guests can opt for oat milk or other milk alternatives without any additional charge, a deliberate choice that reflects the brand’s belief that inclusivity should feel natural, not transactional. It’s a small detail, but one that regulars notice and appreciate.

Beyond food and beverage, Sidewalk places equal emphasis on atmosphere and community. Music, service, and comfort are treated as essentials, creating spaces that feel lived-in from the very beginning. Each city adds its own layer to the brand, wellness-led run clubs in Agra, community gatherings in Kanpur, and collaborations in Lucknow, while the core Sidewalk identity remains unmistakably consistent.

With its newest opening, Sidewalk continues its vision of becoming India’s favorite neighborhood cafe across Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, growing with intention rather than urgency. More than a cafe brand, Sidewalk is building places that slip seamlessly into everyday life.

Ammakai by Bastian Hospitality Brings Mangalorean Home Cooking to Bandra

Led by Ranjit Bindra, Founder & CEO of Bastian Hospitality venture, celebrates coastal Mangalorean cuisine rooted in tradition, emotion, and shared meals.

Bastian Hospitality, led by founder Ranjit Bindra, expands its culinary portfolio with the launch of Ammakai, an all-day dining South Indian restaurant in Bandra that celebrates the warmth and comfort of home-style cooking. Inspired by the idea of Ammakai, meaning Mom’s Hand, the restaurant draws from the rich culinary traditions of Mangalorean households, where recipes are guided by memory, instinct, and love rather than written rules. Ammakai is also among the few South Indian restaurants to serve matcha alongside traditional preparations, offering a contemporary dining experience.

Ammakai is led by chefs from southern India with years of experience, who travelled to villages in Mangalore to learn recipes directly from home kitchens. The focus is on presenting Mangalorean cuisine in a way that feels refined and relevant while staying true to its roots, highlighting coastal flavours defined by coconut, tamarind, and spices. Rather than reinventing the food, the menu reveals the depth of the cuisine through thoughtful, modern touches.

Guests are encouraged to eat with their hands and discover lesser-known regional dishes, while a few Bastian classics have been retained due to the emotional significance of the space. With modern branding but a contemporary take on southern flavours, Ammakai offers a warm, personal dining experience inspired by the hospitality of the southern coast. Designed as an all-day dining space, the restaurant is also consciously priced to be accessible and inclusive, making it a place guests can visit often, not just for special occasions.

Talking about the Ammakai, Mr Ranjit Bindra, Founder and CEO of Bastian Hospitality, shares, “Ammakai reflects the kind of food and hospitality we have always believed in at Bastian Hospitality: comfort-led, honest, and rooted in familiar flavours. What sets Ammakai apart is its approach to South Indian cuisine, where the focus is on specific regional traditions rather than a broad, generic menu. The food is guided by home-style techniques, instinctive cooking, and flavours that come from lived experience. It’s a natural extension of how we build our restaurants, creating spaces that feel welcoming and food that people can return to time and again.”

For Bastian Hospitality, building restaurants has never been about creating standalone destinations. It’s about building community spaces where people from different generations come together, where meals feel familiar yet special, and where food becomes a shared language. The space mirrors this philosophy. Warm, coastal, and quietly sophisticated, Ammakai feels like a place you want to return to.

The signature dishes anchor the menu and tell their own stories. The Mutton Khara Boti is bold and rustic, layered with traditional Mangalorean spice blends that deliver depth and heat in every bite. In contrast, the Coastal Stew is delicate and soulful, a comforting bowl that captures the gentler side of coastal cooking. The family-style Ammakai Dosa, simple and deeply reassuring, brings everyone to the table, embodying the restaurant’s ethos of shared meals and togetherness.

With Ammakai, Bastian Hospitality continues to evolve as a multi-cuisine hospitality group, guided by founder Ranjit Bindra’s vision of creating spaces that are as emotionally resonant as they are culinary-driven. More than just a restaurant, Ammakai is a reminder that the best meals are the ones that feel like home, and that in Bandra, that home now has a new address.
