Atlantis Dubai Continues Its Commitment To Conservation With Shark & Stingray Release And Beach Clean-Up

The iconic destination teamed up with the Dubai Environment and Climate Change Authority to  educate and encourage the future generations on ocean conservation

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates – As part of the Atlantis Atlas Project, and reinforcing its commitment to  marine conservation, Atlantis Dubai has collaborated with the Dubai Environment and Climate Change  Authority to release five Honeycomb Stingrays and eight Arabian Carpetsharks into the Arabian Gulf at  Jebel Ali Wildlife Sanctuary on Thursday, 12th February 2026. This initiative forms part of the destination’s  ongoing efforts to support conservation programmes and protect the local marine environment.  

The Atlantis Atlas Project is Atlantis Dubai’s comprehensive sustainability initiative, launched in 2021 to  champion responsible tourism, environmental conservation and social responsibility. Built around four  key pillars, the project underpins Atlantis Dubai’s long-term commitment to protecting the marine  environment while supporting local communities and creating positive and lasting impact.  

The release was attended by key members of the Atlantis Dubai team alongside representatives from the  Dubai Environment and Climate Change Authority, the emirate’s government agency which leads the  Emirate’s environmental protection and climate action efforts, supporting Dubai’s transition to a greener,  climate resilient future. In addition, 25 pupils from local schools took part in the experience, witnessing  the shark and stingray release first-hand and supporting a beach clean-up. Through this hands-on  involvement, students gained a deeper understanding of the importance, impact and responsibility of  marine conservation.

With shark and ray populations in the Arabian Gulf continuing to decline, and more than one third of  species now considered threatened, the Atlantis Atlas Project established a Honeycomb Stingray breeding  programme to help support local populations. Since its launch in 2019, the programme has now  successfully contributed to the release of 73 Arabian Carpet Sharks and 17 Honeycomb Stingrays into the  wild. 

Shark and stingray breeding is a key indicator of a healthy marine ecosystem and is a natural process  actively encouraged by Atlantis Dubai. Aged between 6 months and five years, each marine animal  released was born at the Lost World Aquarium and cared for in the resort’s dedicated fish hospital. Prior  to release, the Animal Care team conducted thorough health assessments to ensure each animal was fit  for life in the wild. As part of their preparation, the animals were encouraged to explore, interact with  compatible marine life and forage independently for food.

Following the release, Atlantis Dubai colleagues joined representatives from the Dubai Environment and  Climate Change Authority and participating school pupils for a beach clean-up. This collaborative effort  supported the conservation of local marine ecosystems while educating participants on the importance  of responsible waste management.

Consolidated Financial Highlights (INR Crores, except EPS)

For Q3 FY26, Consolidated Total Income rises significantly to INR 117.93 crore compared to INR 94.86 crore in Q3 FY25, reflecting strong year on year growth. EBITDA stands at INR 34.84 crore. Profit After Tax for the quarter stands at INR 9.62 crore, with Earnings Per Share at INR 3.29.

For the Q3 ended 31 December 2025, Consolidated Total Income increases to INR 287.50 crore compared to INR 250.84 crore in the corresponding period last year, demonstrating sustained growth momentum. EBITDA stands at INR 79.30 crore. Profit After Tax for the period stands at INR 25.11 crore, and Earnings Per Share stands at INR 8.84.

The adoption of IND AS results in a notional increase in depreciation and finance cost of INR 38.27 crore for the Q3 ended December 2025, leading to a reduction in PAT of INR 12.58 crore at the consolidated level. For the Quarter ended December 2025, IND AS impact results in a notional increase of INR 19.48 crore, reducing consolidated PAT by INR 6.42 crore. These remain accounting adjustments and do not impact the Company’s operational cash flows.

During the quarter, the Company adds six new properties, further strengthening its presence across key growth corridors including NCR and Mumbai.

February 2026, National, India: Royal Orchid Hotels Limited (“ROHL”), one of India’s leading hospitality companies, has announced the successful execution of an agreement for the sale of its subsidiary, Multi Hotels Limited, to Greenleaf Properties Limited, a Tanzania-based company. The agreement was executed on January 29, 2026, following the Company’s earlier intimation to stock exchanges.

With this transaction, Multi Hotels Limited has ceased to be a subsidiary of Royal Orchid Hotels Limited with effect from January 29, 2026. The divestment is in line with ROHL’s strategic focus on optimising its portfolio, strengthening its balance sheet, and sharpening its emphasis on core hospitality operations across key markets. Multi Hotels Limited had not commenced commercial operations, and the sale allows the Company to unlock value while reallocating resources towards higher-growth opportunities.

The total consideration (collectively) for the Sale of 100% shares of Multi Hotels Limited is USD 3,412,500, which will be received in instalments within a period of 120 days from the date of execution of the agreement.

Greenleaf Properties Limited is an independent entity, and the transaction has been carried out on an arm’s length basis, in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. Mr. Chander K. Baljee, Chairman & Managing Director, Royal Orchid Hotels Limited, held minority shareholding in Multi Hotels Limited, which has also been transferred as part of the transaction.

Siliguri, January 2026: The Hospitality & Tourism Conclave 2026, held at ITC Fortune Select, Siliguri, concluded with two days of focused discussions on the future of hospitality and tourism in Eastern India. Organised by the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the conclave drew hotel owners, founders, senior operators, developers, technology providers and industry stakeholders from across the country, underscoring the region’s growing relevance in India’s tourism landscape.

Guwahati, January 2026: The 5th North-East FoodTech 2026, the region’s premier B2B exhibition for the Food, Bakery and Hospitality Industry, was formally inaugurated today at the Maniram Dewan Trade Centre, Guwahati, marking the beginning of a four-day industry-focused showcase of technology, innovation and business opportunities.


The inaugural ceremony was graced by Shri Sunil Deka, Chairman, Assam Trade Promotion Organisation, who attended the event as the Chief Guest, in the presence of industry stakeholders, exhibitors, hospitality professionals and representatives from trade associations.

Azerai La Residence, Hue Delves Deeper Into Local Cuisine With Special New Dishes

HUE, Vietnam January 2026 – Azerai La Residence, Hue has long been recognized as a culinary hotspot in central Vietnam, and its head chef Nguyen Dong Hai last year achieved the rare distinction of being named a “Master Culinary Artist of Vietnam.”

Chef Hai, who was recently named a finalist in the Gourmet Vietnam Awards presented by Epicure magazine, has now added several new local specialities to the menu at Azerai’s celebrated all-day dining restaurant Le Parfum.

New Vietnamese dishes on the new menu include Hue Royal-Style Braised Duck Leg, whose meat is braised in Minh Mang wine with goji berries, star anise, carrots, mushrooms and ginseng, and served with mung bean sticky rice; Hue Five-Spice Roasted Chicken with Turmeric Rice, featuring a roasted free-range chicken marinated in five local spices and honey, and served with shitake mushrooms, turmeric-scented rice and sauteed bok choy; and Hue Caramelized Pork & Prawn in a Clay Pot, served with sauteed broccoli and steamed rice.

IHG’s essentials portfolio continues to underpin presence in India, supported by consistent demand from business and leisure travel, weekend getaways and experience-led stays across urban centres and resort destinations. Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express together account for over 70% of IHG’s operating hotels in India, as well as the majority of its hotel currently in development. Holiday Inn Express ranked #1 for signings in its industry category in Q3 2025 year-to-date, reinforcing its strong position within the segment.

 

The launch of Garner in India in 2025 marked the introduction of IHG’s newest mid-scale conversion brand to the market. Signings during the year included Garner Etawah (Uttar Pradesh) and Garner Kathua (Jammu & Kashmir), with additional hotels in Garner Kutch and Garner Bhiwadi recently added to the pipeline. The brand’s early traction underscores growing owner appetite for efficient, branded essentials offerings, and reinforces IHG’s focus on conversion-led growth in India.

 

IHG is also seeing healthy momentum across its premium portfolio. Crowne Plaza continues to grow and now represents around 25% of IHG hotels in development in the region. The opening of Crowne Plaza Lucknow in May 2025 marked a significant milestone as IHG’s 50th open hotel in India. The company has also recently debuted the voco brand in India, with signings across cities and leisure destinations including Srinagar, Goa, Gurugram, Mumbai, Amritsar and the first voco opening in Jim Corbett National Park.

 

Luxury & Lifestyle brands represent a growing share of IHG’s India pipeline. The InterContinental brand continues to expand across key metros such as Bengaluru and Hyderabad, as well as alongside resort destinations including Mahabalipuram, Kasauli and Kodaikanal, supported by high-end leisure demand. The Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) successfully conducted a Sri Lanka Tourism Awareness Session in New Delhi on 7 January, Mumbai on the 8 January and Chennai on the 9th January 2026, aimed at reaffirming Sri Lanka’s readiness to welcome visitors and strengthening tourism ties with the Indian travel trade and media.

An Awareness Session on Sri Lanka Tourism was successfully conducted in New Delhi, aimed at informing the Indian travel trade and media on Sri Lanka’s readiness to welcome visitors. The session was represented by Her Excellency Mahishini Colonne, the High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to New Delhi, Mr. Buddhika Hewawasam, Chairman, and Ms. Shirani Herath, Assistant Director of the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB), Mr. Nalin Jayasundera, the President of the Sri Lanka Association of Inbound Tour Operators (SLAITO), Mr. Anura Lokuhetty, the Past President of The Hotels Association of Sri Lanka (THASL), and Mr. Fawzan Fareid, the Regional Manager – India, Bangladesh & Nepal of SriLankan Airlines.
