A Maldives Mushroom on a Mission

Mo is a mushroom on a mission. As the latest in a long line of Planetary Wellbeing pioneers at Four Seasons Resorts Maldives he is – in his own words – “tired of being kept in the dark.”

“We’re the evolution of two decades of earth-friendly initiatives here at Four Seasons Maldives, yet these Four Seasons people hardly ever talk about us, they just get on with it,” bemoans the outspoken oyster mushroom. "That’s why I’m taking a stand as Official Spokesmushroom.”

By “us,” Mo is referring to his fellow 150-strong United Featheration of chickens, ducks and quail; the 100-variety Garden Gang of herbs, vegetables and fruits; the 8,000 or so Orchid Crew and many more unsung island-based heroes.

Every day, some five kilograms (11 pounds) of Mo’s mushroom brethren, along with huge quantities of Garden Gang colleagues, put themselves forward as Zero-Mile Champions. They travel 200 to 400 metres (650-1,300 feet) by bicycle across sandy terrain to numerous on-site restaurants (within the Resort). Once there, they take star turns in a wide range of soups, salads, mains, desserts and drinks.

“It’s a tough job – we don’t ever get to see those who volunteer,” says Mo. “Unlike the lazy show-off orchids - there are 8,000 of those working here yet only 500 of them are ever on duty for a month at a time before taking a six-month break to revitalise; it’s a scandal.”

In the Blu Beach Club kitchen, Mo passes the time between arrival and evening service by chatting with his fellow Zero Mile volunteers. “There’re quite a bit of manhandling and hanging around,” he says, “but you could say it’s our life’s work so we don’t mind.”

Dinner is a taste explosion of signature dishes, packed with island-fresh flavours: Landaa Happy Egg served with local pumpkin cream, seeds and seaweed; White Snapper Carpaccio with Kulafilha leaf, melon and passion fruit; Slow-Cooked Rainbow Runner with cauliflower, dill and roasted lemon.

After dinner, Mo is unavailable for comment. But back in the Mushroom House, his son is not concerned: “If he’s not still in the kitchen he will have gone to the Compost Club to rest and regenerate. We honestly give our all; Four Seasons really should give us more credit."

Watch this space for more on-the-ground updates from the Resorts' Planetary Wellbeing pioneers as they reveal how Four Seasons is doing things differently in the Maldives.

Award-Winning Vanaha Gin Expands National Footprint Across Key Indian Markets like Haryana, Rajasthan, Pondicherry

February 2026: Vanaha Gin, India’s pioneering forest-to-bottle artisanal spirit from Revelry Distillery, continues its ascent as one of the country’s most compelling luxury craft labels, garnering recognition across both national and international platforms. Within months of its debut, the brand has secured five distinguished global accolades, including the coveted Master Medal at The Spirits Business Global Gin Masters, honours from the IWSC (UK) and the Global Wine & Spirits Awards Asia, and Gold at The Spirits Business Global Spirits Design Masters. Notably, Vanaha is the only gin worldwide shortlisted for Innovation in Production at The Spirits Business Awards 2025 — a landmark distinction that places Indian craft distillation firmly on the global innovation map.

Building on this momentum, Vanaha Gin announces its expansion into Rajasthan, Haryana and  Pondicherry , strengthening its growing national presence. Previously available in Goa and Madhya Pradesh, entry into these dynamic markets marks a strategic milestone in the brand’s carefully curated growth journey. With Pondicherry’s increasingly sophisticated alcobev culture and Rajasthan, Haryana’s discerning consumer base embracing elevated craft spirits, the expansion reflects a rising appetite for artisanal gins defined by provenance, authenticity, and refined character.

Crafted with 24 meticulously selected botanicals, Vanaha undergoes an exacting five-stage distillation process — Botanical Maceration, Copper Pot Distillation, Vapour Infusion, Cold Vacuum Distillation, and Staging — engineered to preserve the purest expression of each ingredient. The inclusion of cold vacuum distillation ensures delicate botanicals retain their intrinsic aroma and complexity, resulting in a spirit that is layered, elegant, and unmistakably natural. This precision-driven approach, rooted in research, terroir, and technical mastery, distinguishes Vanaha within the competitive luxury gin landscape.

At the heart of this vision is Vaniitha Jaiin, Founder and Chief Evangelist of Revelry Distillery, and among the first women in India to independently build, own, and operate a distillery. With Vanaha — a name derived from vana (forest) and aha (a moment of realisation) — she set out to create more than a spirit; she envisioned an experience capturing the purity, depth, and quiet power of India’s forests. Under her leadership, Revelry Distillery has emerged as a purpose-built, innovation-led facility that harmonises European copper pot stills, data-driven distillation, and a strong commitment to sustainability and scale.

“Vanaha was born from a simple yet ambitious idea — to bottle the soul of a forest in its most pristine form,” says Vaniitha Jaiin. “Each new market represents not just expansion, but the opportunity to share our philosophy of mindful distillation, authenticity, and Indian craftsmanship with a wider audience.” says  Vaniitha Jaiin, Founder & Chief Evangelist of Revelry Distillery.

As India’s premium spirits sector evolves, Vanaha’s entry into Haryana, Pondicherry and Rajasthan signals a broader shift — one in which homegrown brands are not merely participating on the global stage but redefining excellence through innovation, integrity, and a profound sense of origin.

ABOUT REVELRY DISTILLERY & VANAHA GIN

Revelry Distillery is a boutique craft-spirits house nestled in the Sattari forests of North Goa, where modern distillation meets a deep respect for terroir, sustainability, and storytelling. Built around a custom European Hagyo copper pot still and an in-house state of the art R&D lab, it is engineered for precision, consistency, and scalable growth of up to one million bottles annually. Its defining “forest-to-bottle” philosophy guides everything from pan-India botanical sourcing to its meticulous five-step distillation, preserving provenance and purity. More than a distillery, it is a creative hub where science, craft, and nature converge—most notably giving rise to Vanaha Gin and a new chapter in India’s craft-spirit movement.

Vanaha Gin is a tribute to India’s untamed forests—crafted for those who seek depth, purity, and character. Its name blends vana (forest) and aha (realisation), reflecting its inspiration. Distilled via a proprietary five-step process using 24 hand-picked botanicals sourced nationwide, it is a 100% natural, zero sugar and additive-free spirit capturing the country’s biodiversity. Earthy, woody notes intertwine with floral, citrus, spice, and herbal layers, making it equally compelling neat, on ice, or in cocktails.

Internationally acclaimed, Vanaha earned a Master Medal at the The Spirits Business Global Gin Masters (2025), along with honours from the IWSC and the Global Wine & Spirits Awards Asia, plus Gold at The Spirits Business Global Spirits Design Masters. It was also the only gin worldwide shortlisted for “Innovation in Production” at The Spirits Business Awards. Still a young brand, its rapid expansion from Goa to Madhya Pradesh and beyond has positioned it as a distinctive Indian gin with global promise, admired for authenticity, provenance, and craft.

Atlantis Dubai Continues Its Commitment To Conservation With Shark & Stingray Release And Beach Clean-Up

The iconic destination teamed up with the Dubai Environment and Climate Change Authority to  educate and encourage the future generations on ocean conservation

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates – As part of the Atlantis Atlas Project, and reinforcing its commitment to  marine conservation, Atlantis Dubai has collaborated with the Dubai Environment and Climate Change  Authority to release five Honeycomb Stingrays and eight Arabian Carpetsharks into the Arabian Gulf at  Jebel Ali Wildlife Sanctuary on Thursday, 12th February 2026. This initiative forms part of the destination’s  ongoing efforts to support conservation programmes and protect the local marine environment.

The Atlantis Atlas Project is Atlantis Dubai’s comprehensive sustainability initiative, launched in 2021 to  champion responsible tourism, environmental conservation and social responsibility. Built around four  key pillars, the project underpins Atlantis Dubai’s long-term commitment to protecting the marine  environment while supporting local communities and creating positive and lasting impact.

The release was attended by key members of the Atlantis Dubai team alongside representatives from the  Dubai Environment and Climate Change Authority, the emirate’s government agency which leads the  Emirate’s environmental protection and climate action efforts, supporting Dubai’s transition to a greener,  climate resilient future. In addition, 25 pupils from local schools took part in the experience, witnessing  the shark and stingray release first-hand and supporting a beach clean-up. Through this hands-on  involvement, students gained a deeper understanding of the importance, impact and responsibility of  marine conservation.

“Marine environment is one of our most valuable natural resources that we strive to conserve for future  generations,” said HE Ahmed Mohammed bin Thani, Director General of the Dubai Environment and  Climate Change Authority. “Protecting marine biodiversity requires science-led action, strong  partnerships and early community engagement. The Atlantis Atlas Project demonstrates how  conservation, education and responsible tourism can work together to safeguard Dubai’s marine ecosystems. By collaborating with leading private-sector partners and involving young people directly, we  are reinforce ecosystem resilience and support Dubai’s long-term environmental sustainability goals.”

With shark and ray populations in the Arabian Gulf continuing to decline, and more than one third of  species now considered threatened, the Atlantis Atlas Project established a Honeycomb Stingray breeding  programme to help support local populations. Since its launch in 2019, the programme has now  successfully contributed to the release of 73 Arabian Carpet Sharks and 17 Honeycomb Stingrays into the  wild.

Shark and stingray breeding is a key indicator of a healthy marine ecosystem and is a natural process  actively encouraged by Atlantis Dubai. Aged between 6 months and five years, each marine animal  released was born at the Lost World Aquarium and cared for in the resort’s dedicated fish hospital. Prior  to release, the Animal Care team conducted thorough health assessments to ensure each animal was fit  for life in the wild. As part of their preparation, the animals were encouraged to explore, interact with  compatible marine life and forage independently for food.

Kelly Timmins, Executive Director of Sustainability and Marine Animal Operations, Atlantis Dubai,  comments, “More than one third of shark, ray and chimera species are now threatened with extinction,  making conservation action more critical than ever. Through initiatives like this release, we are actively  supporting local marine populations while helping to educate future generations about the role they can  play in protecting our oceans. Impactful change starts with awareness, collaboration and long-term  commitment.”

Following the release, Atlantis Dubai colleagues joined representatives from the Dubai Environment and  Climate Change Authority and participating school pupils for a beach clean-up. This collaborative effort  supported the conservation of local marine ecosystems while educating participants on the importance  of responsible waste management.

As a destination home to world class facilities, Atlantis Dubai delivers high quality educational  programmes designed to inspire a lifelong appreciation for marine life. In 2025, Atlantis Dubai further  strengthened its position as a leader in sustainable tourism by achieving top-tier EarthCheck certifications,  Gold Dubai Sustainable Tourism (DST) Stamps from the Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) and  the prestigious Forbes Travel Guide VERIFIED™ Responsible Hospitality badge. The destination also  opened the newly re-developed Lost World Aquarium in October 2025, home to 65,000 marine animals  and dedicated to educating guests on their importance to ocean health.

For every marine animal experience participated in by a guest, Atlantis Dubai contributes USD $1 to  conservation and sustainability projects that help protect the ocean and the environment. Since launching  in June 2021, the Atlantis Atlas Project Contribution initiative has raised over half a million dollars in  support of conservation and sustainability.

Skyscanner Takes India’s T20 Fever Beyond Stadiums and Into Travel Inspiration

India, February 2026: As India defends its T20 crown under captain Suryakumar ‘SKY’ Yadav, the cricket wave is spilling far beyond stadiums, into airports, metros and city streets. Capturing this cultural moment, Skyscanner, global travel app, has launched a high-impact nationwide Out-Of-Home (OOH) campaign that brings together India’s love for cricket with the growing desire to travel for live sporting experiences.

The OOH campaign draws inspiration from SKY’s fearless, inventive batting style, where his gravity-defying shots often appear to defy field placements and disappear beyond the boundary. Skyscanner playfully imagines what happens when those sixes travel even further, visually “breaking” outdoor installations across host cities and turning everyday urban spaces into extensions of the stadium experience. Running from 7 February to 8 March, the campaign marks one of Skyscanner’s most ambitious India activations to date, underscoring its long-term commitment to the market and its focus on engaging travellers where culture, sport and travel intersect.

Turning Cities into Live Match Experiences

The OOH campaign features bold installations positioned across Mumbai, Delhi and Ahmedabad, with executions concentrated around stadium precincts, airports and key commuter corridors.

Complementing the installations, Skyscanner has rolled out a real-time ‘Live Score’ outdoor experience, activating hundreds of dynamic digital screens across high-footfall transit hubs, including Delhi Airport and Mumbai Metro lines. During India fixtures, these screens display live match scores and rotate tournament-led content such as upcoming match countdowns, latest results and points tables, allowing travellers and daily commuters to stay connected to the action in real time.

Deepening Engagement Across Screens, Platforms and Travel Moments

Beyond OOH, Skyscanner has extended the campaign through strategic partnerships designed to reach fans wherever they follow the game. The brand has partnered with Jio Hotstar during the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, with prominent on-screen placements and digital banners during live matches, reaching millions of viewers across India.

To translate cricket passion into travel action, Skyscanner has teamed up with Yatra.com, HappyFares and Paytm Checkin to offer exclusive travel benefits to fans, including 10% off domestic and international flights and 20% off select hotels via Yatra.com. Fans can unlock these offers using the promo code SKYT20.

Cricket Is Now a Travel Driver

Commenting on the campaign, Neel Ghose, Travel Trends and Destinations Expert, Skyscanner, said: “Cricket has become one of the strongest catalysts for how Indians plan their travel today. During this T20 tournament, we’re seeing clear signals of that behaviour translating into travel intent, with search demand to host cities rising steadily and peaking as marquee matches approach. Our role at Skyscanner is to remove the friction from these travel planning moments, helping travellers compare options effortlessly, track prices, and plan smarter so they can focus on the experience, whether that’s match day or the journey around it.

With fixtures spread across multiple cities, Skyscanner is enabling fans to turn cricket fever into seamless travel experiences, from spontaneous matchday trips to multi-city journeys following the team.

Key tools include:

  • Price Alerts to track fare changes for host cities

  • Best Value comparison across millions of flights and hotels

  • Whole-Month Search to plan travel efficiently around match schedules

Hospitality & Tourism Conclave 2026 Highlights Eastern India’s Growing Role in India’s Tourism Economy

Direct bookings, technology integration and design-led ROI dominated discussions at the Hospitality & Tourism Conclave 2026, signalling a shift in how hotels in emerging markets plan growth.

Siliguri, January 2026: The Hospitality & Tourism Conclave 2026, held at ITC Fortune Select, Siliguri, concluded with two days of focused discussions on the future of hospitality and tourism in Eastern India. Organised by the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the conclave drew hotel owners, founders, senior operators, developers, technology providers and industry stakeholders from across the country, underscoring the region’s growing relevance in India’s tourism landscape.

The conclave stood out for its practical, region-specific conversations, moving beyond headline optimism to address real operational, investment and scaling challenges. Across panels and keynotes, speakers reiterated that Eastern India’s tourism growth will be driven by long-term thinking, local context and collaborative ecosystems rather than rapid, imitation-led expansion.

A central voice throughout the conclave was Sumit Mitruka, Founder and CEO of Summit Hotels & Resorts and Chairman of the Hospitality & Tourism Committee at ICC. Through his keynote address and moderation of multiple sessions, Mitruka anchored discussions around sustainable hotel development, the importance of regional identity, and the need for owners, brands and solution providers to work in tandem. His experience of operating across the East and North-East brought a grounded perspective to conversations on destination-building and profitability in emerging markets.

Reflecting on the scale and participation at the conclave, Harsh Berlia, Chairman, ICC North Bengal, said, “The ICC North Bengal Tourism and Hospitality Conclave 2026 saw a confluence of speakers from across the industry, coming together from around the country. This further strengthens our conviction that this region is among the fastest-growing hospitality markets. It was encouraging to see both brand owners and hotel owners actively engage through panels, meetings and site visits on the sidelines. We are hopeful that several discussions will translate into ongoing deals, and we look forward to an even larger gathering next year.”

One of the most engaging sessions, “From the East to the Nation: Building Scalable, Iconic Hospitality Brands,” examined how regional brands can grow without losing their core identity. Speakers highlighted the risks of adopting metro-driven templates and stressed the importance of building brands rooted in local culture, demand patterns and operating realities.

The conclave also featured keynote addresses by industry leaders such as Harshavardhan Neotia, Chairman of Ambuja Neotia Group, who spoke on institution-building and responsible tourism development, and Vikram Challur, Senior Vice President at MakeMyTrip, who shared insights on travel demand, distribution and evolving guest behaviour.

Other sessions explored direct bookings and digital funnels, hospitality technology and AI, design-led ROI, marketing storytelling and new-age hospitality formats. Delegates noted that the discussions were candid, actionable and relevant to real-world decision-making.

The two-day conclave saw participation from a cross-section of hospitality leaders and founders, including representatives from Summit Hotels & Resorts, Mayfair Hotels & Resorts, Radisson Hotel Group, Lemon Tree Hotels, Fortune Park Hotels, The Postcard Hotel, Elivaas, The Hosteller, Ambuja Neotia Group, Club Mahindra, Ascott, MakeMyTrip, Simplotel, Djubo, BookingJini, Yanolja Cloud Solution and Colliers, among others. The presence of both established hotel brands and new-age hospitality platforms reinforced the conclave’s focus on pragmatic growth and collaboration.

The exhibition zone and networking sessions saw strong engagement, with meaningful exchanges between solution providers and hospitality leaders. Many participants observed that the conclave successfully demonstrated Siliguri’s ability to host high-impact, national-level industry platforms.

The Hospitality & Tourism Conclave 2026 concluded with a shared sentiment: Eastern India’s hospitality story is entering a more confident, mature phase, shaped by collaboration, realism and a clear understanding of regional strengths.
