Carbon Isn’t a Coffee Shop. It’s a Mood

In a city saturated with cafés, Carbon Jaipur emerged from a quiet rising. While Jaipur had no shortage of coffee spots, few challenged the familiar or reimagined how a café should feel. At a time when coffee was being buried under jargon, bean origins and intimidating processes, Carbon chose to step back. Built on the belief that great coffee doesn’t need a lecture, the brand focuses on taste, approachability and spaces that invite people in without pretence.

Named after one of life’s most fundamental elements, Carbon reflects a philosophy rooted in simplicity. Essential, grounded and powerful in its rawest form, the name mirrors the brand’s identity — dark, bold, slightly rebellious and unapologetically different. From the start, Carbon was never meant to blend in, but to feel effortless yet striking, experimental yet comfortable.

This philosophy comes alive most clearly in the interiors. While most cafés lean into natural light and airy palettes, Carbon deliberately goes the other way. Black walls, dim lighting, broken brick textures, rustic counters and dark flooring create a raw, moody and immersive atmosphere that feels cinematic and unexpected. Witty phrases etched across black glass and textured details throughout make every corner unmistakably Carbon.

The menu follows the same mindset — quality without drama. It brings together classic espresso-based coffees, matcha, and manual brews like V60, syphon, and cold brew, alongside a playful range of coffee mixology. Experimental flavours such as lavender and caramel popcorn sit comfortably next to cult favourites like the Whiskey Barrel Cold Brew and the signature Black Carbon Latte. The offering is intentionally inclusive — whether someone wants a straightforward cappuccino or a bold, cocktail-style coffee experience, the menu makes specialty coffee feel accessible rather than intimidating.

Beyond beverages, Carbon’s food menu carries forward the same philosophy of being familiar yet experimental. Favourites like the indulgent Korean Bun, buttery Pain Au Chocolat, and Cinnamon Rolls pair effortlessly with coffee, while desserts such as the Lotus Biscoff Cheesecake and Dark Chocolate Brownie remain table highlights. The savoury side stays inviting with picks like the Indian Paneer Wrap, Truffle Parmesan Fries, Nachos with Guacamole & Sour Cream, and the hearty Cottage Cheese Steak, alongside comforting pastas and handcrafted pizzas such as the Alfredo and Classic Margherita — creating a menu that encourages guests to linger longer.

As Carbon prepares to open its new outlet in Jaipur, the vision remains unchanged — to grow thoughtfully without diluting its identity. Anchored in simplicity, consistency and bold individuality, Carbon continues to prove that in an increasingly loud café culture, the strongest statement is often made by doing less, and doing it better.

About Carbon Jaipur:
Carbon Jaipur is a bold, experiential coffee space known for its dark interiors, relaxed coffee philosophy and experimental menu. Designed for people who enjoy great coffee without fuss, Carbon blends strong visual identity with an inclusive, community-driven experience.

A Maldives Mushroom on a Mission

Mo is a mushroom on a mission. As the latest in a long line of Planetary Wellbeing pioneers at Four Seasons Resorts Maldives he is – in his own words – “tired of being kept in the dark.”

“We’re the evolution of two decades of earth-friendly initiatives here at Four Seasons Maldives, yet these Four Seasons people hardly ever talk about us, they just get on with it,” bemoans the outspoken oyster mushroom. "That’s why I’m taking a stand as Official Spokesmushroom.”

By “us,” Mo is referring to his fellow 150-strong United Featheration of chickens, ducks and quail; the 100-variety Garden Gang of herbs, vegetables and fruits; the 8,000 or so Orchid Crew and many more unsung island-based heroes.

Every day, some five kilograms (11 pounds) of Mo’s mushroom brethren, along with huge quantities of Garden Gang colleagues, put themselves forward as Zero-Mile Champions. They travel 200 to 400 metres (650-1,300 feet) by bicycle across sandy terrain to numerous on-site restaurants (within the Resort). Once there, they take star turns in a wide range of soups, salads, mains, desserts and drinks.

“It’s a tough job – we don’t ever get to see those who volunteer,” says Mo. “Unlike the lazy show-off orchids - there are 8,000 of those working here yet only 500 of them are ever on duty for a month at a time before taking a six-month break to revitalise; it’s a scandal.”

In the Blu Beach Club kitchen, Mo passes the time between arrival and evening service by chatting with his fellow Zero Mile volunteers. “There’re quite a bit of manhandling and hanging around,” he says, “but you could say it’s our life’s work so we don’t mind.”

Dinner is a taste explosion of signature dishes, packed with island-fresh flavours: Landaa Happy Egg served with local pumpkin cream, seeds and seaweed; White Snapper Carpaccio with Kulafilha leaf, melon and passion fruit; Slow-Cooked Rainbow Runner with cauliflower, dill and roasted lemon.

After dinner, Mo is unavailable for comment. But back in the Mushroom House, his son is not concerned: “If he’s not still in the kitchen he will have gone to the Compost Club to rest and regenerate. We honestly give our all; Four Seasons really should give us more credit."

Watch this space for more on-the-ground updates from the Resorts' Planetary Wellbeing pioneers as they reveal how Four Seasons is doing things differently in the Maldives.

Within months of its debut, the brand has secured five distinguished global accolades, including the coveted Master Medal at The Spirits Business Global Gin Masters, honours from the IWSC (UK) and the Global Wine & Spirits Awards Asia, and Gold at The Spirits Business Global Spirits Design Masters. Notably, Vanaha is the only gin worldwide shortlisted for Innovation in Production at The Spirits Business Awards 2025 — a landmark distinction that places Indian craft distillation firmly on the global innovation map.

Building on this momentum, Vanaha Gin announces its expansion into Rajasthan, Haryana and  Pondicherry , strengthening its growing national presence. Previously available in Goa and Madhya Pradesh, entry into these dynamic markets marks a strategic milestone in the brand’s carefully curated growth journey. With Pondicherry’s increasingly sophisticated alcobev culture and Rajasthan, Haryana’s discerning consumer base embracing elevated craft spirits, the expansion reflects a rising appetite for artisanal gins defined by provenance, authenticity, and refined character.

Crafted with 24 meticulously selected botanicals, Vanaha undergoes an exacting five-stage distillation process — Botanical Maceration, Copper Pot Distillation, Vapour Infusion, Cold Vacuum Distillation, and Staging — engineered to preserve the purest expression of each ingredient. The inclusion of cold vacuum distillation ensures delicate botanicals retain their intrinsic aroma and complexity, resulting in a spirit that is layered, elegant, and unmistakably natural. This precision-driven approach, rooted in research, terroir, and technical mastery, distinguishes Vanaha within the competitive luxury gin landscape.

At the heart of this vision is Vaniitha Jaiin, Founder and Chief Evangelist of Revelry Distillery, and among the first women in India to independently build, own, and operate a distillery. With Vanaha — a name derived from vana (forest) and aha (a moment of realisation) — she set out to create more than a spirit; she envisioned an experience capturing the purity, depth, and quiet power of India’s forests. Under her leadership, Revelry Distillery has emerged as a purpose-built, innovation-led facility that harmonises European copper pot stills, data-driven distillation, and a strong commitment to sustainability and scale.

“Vanaha was born from a simple yet ambitious idea — to bottle the soul of a forest in its most pristine form,” says Vaniitha Jaiin. “Each new market represents not just expansion, but the opportunity to share our philosophy of mindful distillation, authenticity, and Indian craftsmanship with a wider audience.” says  Vaniitha Jaiin, Founder & Chief Evangelist of Revelry Distillery.

As India’s premium spirits sector evolves, Vanaha’s entry into Haryana, Pondicherry and Rajasthan signals a broader shift — one in which homegrown brands are not merely participating on the global stage but redefining excellence through innovation, integrity, and a profound sense of origin.

Atlantis Dubai Continues Its Commitment To Conservation With Shark & Stingray Release And Beach Clean-Up

The iconic destination teamed up with the Dubai Environment and Climate Change Authority to  educate and encourage the future generations on ocean conservation

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates – As part of the Atlantis Atlas Project, and reinforcing its commitment to  marine conservation, Atlantis Dubai has collaborated with the Dubai Environment and Climate Change  Authority to release five Honeycomb Stingrays and eight Arabian Carpetsharks into the Arabian Gulf at  Jebel Ali Wildlife Sanctuary on Thursday, 12th February 2026. This initiative forms part of the destination’s  ongoing efforts to support conservation programmes and protect the local marine environment.

The Atlantis Atlas Project is Atlantis Dubai’s comprehensive sustainability initiative, launched in 2021 to  champion responsible tourism, environmental conservation and social responsibility. Built around four  key pillars, the project underpins Atlantis Dubai’s long-term commitment to protecting the marine  environment while supporting local communities and creating positive and lasting impact.

The release was attended by key members of the Atlantis Dubai team alongside representatives from the  Dubai Environment and Climate Change Authority, the emirate’s government agency which leads the  Emirate’s environmental protection and climate action efforts, supporting Dubai’s transition to a greener,  climate resilient future. In addition, 25 pupils from local schools took part in the experience, witnessing  the shark and stingray release first-hand and supporting a beach clean-up. Through this hands-on  involvement, students gained a deeper understanding of the importance, impact and responsibility of  marine conservation.

“Marine environment is one of our most valuable natural resources that we strive to conserve for future  generations,” said HE Ahmed Mohammed bin Thani, Director General of the Dubai Environment and  Climate Change Authority. “Protecting marine biodiversity requires science-led action, strong  partnerships and early community engagement. The Atlantis Atlas Project demonstrates how  conservation, education and responsible tourism can work together to safeguard Dubai’s marine ecosystems. By collaborating with leading private-sector partners and involving young people directly, we  are reinforce ecosystem resilience and support Dubai’s long-term environmental sustainability goals.”

With shark and ray populations in the Arabian Gulf continuing to decline, and more than one third of  species now considered threatened, the Atlantis Atlas Project established a Honeycomb Stingray breeding  programme to help support local populations. Since its launch in 2019, the programme has now  successfully contributed to the release of 73 Arabian Carpet Sharks and 17 Honeycomb Stingrays into the  wild.

Shark and stingray breeding is a key indicator of a healthy marine ecosystem and is a natural process  actively encouraged by Atlantis Dubai. Aged between 6 months and five years, each marine animal  released was born at the Lost World Aquarium and cared for in the resort’s dedicated fish hospital. Prior  to release, the Animal Care team conducted thorough health assessments to ensure each animal was fit  for life in the wild. As part of their preparation, the animals were encouraged to explore, interact with  compatible marine life and forage independently for food.

Kelly Timmins, Executive Director of Sustainability and Marine Animal Operations, Atlantis Dubai,  comments, “More than one third of shark, ray and chimera species are now threatened with extinction,  making conservation action more critical than ever. Through initiatives like this release, we are actively  supporting local marine populations while helping to educate future generations about the role they can  play in protecting our oceans. Impactful change starts with awareness, collaboration and long-term  commitment.”

Following the release, Atlantis Dubai colleagues joined representatives from the Dubai Environment and  Climate Change Authority and participating school pupils for a beach clean-up. This collaborative effort  supported the conservation of local marine ecosystems while educating participants on the importance  of responsible waste management.

As a destination home to world class facilities, Atlantis Dubai delivers high quality educational  programmes designed to inspire a lifelong appreciation for marine life. In 2025, Atlantis Dubai further  strengthened its position as a leader in sustainable tourism by achieving top-tier EarthCheck certifications,  Gold Dubai Sustainable Tourism (DST) Stamps from the Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) and  the prestigious Forbes Travel Guide VERIFIED™ Responsible Hospitality badge. The destination also  opened the newly re-developed Lost World Aquarium in October 2025, home to 65,000 marine animals  and dedicated to educating guests on their importance to ocean health.

For every marine animal experience participated in by a guest, Atlantis Dubai contributes USD $1 to  conservation and sustainability projects that help protect the ocean and the environment. Since launching  in June 2021, the Atlantis Atlas Project Contribution initiative has raised over half a million dollars in  support of conservation and sustainability.
