/An exclusive one-day culinary showcase on 15 November brings the comforting tastes of Tibet to House of Akina, with a special menu by celebrated chef Doma Wang.
Mumbai, 2026: This November, House of Akina invites diners to take a culinary journey into the heart of Tibet with a special one-day showcase by celebrated chef Doma Wang, popularly known as the ‘Momo Queen’. Taking place on Sunday, 15 November 2026, across lunch and dinner, the experience will bring together the warmth of Tibetan home-style cooking, regional specialities and the many ways of enjoying one of the cuisine's most beloved dishes – the momo.
At the heart of the experience is a menu that celebrates the comforting, generous and deeply familiar flavours of Tibetan cuisine. Leading the selection is an assortment of momos, with diners invited to explore different fillings and preparations. From Vegetarian Momos with Churpi and Vegetarian Momos with Chives and Cream Cheese to Chicken and Mutton Momos, the selection will be available steamed, Kothay or Jhol. Whether enjoyed crisp, delicately steamed or served in a comforting broth, each preparation offers a different way to experience this Tibetan staple.
The experience extends beyond the momo menu, with a selection of small plates that bring regional ingredients and bold flavours to the table. Guests can begin with Salmon Lephing, Chilli Butter Wings, Sonam’s Chilli Chicken, Black Pepper Prawns and Timbur Corn Ribs, before moving on to more substantial preparations. The larger plates include Mushroom and Chives Noodles with Timbur, Khatsa Fried Rice, Popo’s Prawn Fried Rice and Men Tse Tse, a traditional-style flat noodle soup.
For a more complete taste of the cuisine, the menu also features T Momo served with Datsi and Phing Soup, with diners choosing between Ezay or braised lamb. Together, the dishes offer a spread that moves from familiar comfort food to regional preparations, bringing the diversity of Tibetan cooking to the table.
Guiding this culinary experience is Chef Doma Wang, chef-owner of The Blue Poppy in Kolkata, whose work has helped introduce Tibetan and Himalayan cuisine to a wider audience. Chef Doma is celebrated for her deep-rooted understanding of the cuisine and her ability to bring its traditional flavours to the forefront. Through this showcase, House of Akina offers diners the opportunity to experience her approach to a cuisine shaped by heritage, home cooking and regional identity.
With this special showcase, House of Akina brings a different culinary experience to Mumbai, inviting diners to gather around the table, explore the many expressions of Tibetan cooking and discover flavours that are as comforting as they are distinctive.
The showcase will be available for one day only, on Sunday, 15 November 2026, across lunch and dinner at House of Akina, Mumbai.
