INDY by Q'la Pours a Map of India in 16 Cocktails

INDY by Q'la in Nehru Place, New Delhi, has a new cocktail menu that travels the country. 'India, Poured' has 16 cocktails in eight regional chapters, each built around the flavours of a particular city or region, from Kashmir's saffron and Coorg's coffee to the coast at Kanyakumari.

The drinks

Bar Manager Abhishek Rana curated the menu, which works kokum, tamarind, gulkand, paan, saffron, Gondhoraj lime and Alphonso mango into drinks made with gin, tequila, whisky, vodka and rum. Highlights include:

  • Rasam: a gin highball inspired by Chettinad's peppery rasam

  • Aam Indyan: Ratnagiri Alphonso mango with saffron

  • Banarasi Paan: Varanasi's post-meal ritual turned into a gin cocktail

  • Shahi Patiala: whisky, apple and truffle, poured at the table

  • Tandoori Picante: a tequila drink that channels the smoke of Amritsar's tandoor

With food

The menu comes with suggested food pairings: Noon Madira with Yellow Butter Chicken, Rasam with Wayanad Prawn Masala, and Midnight Crave with Kachhe Aam Ki Kachori.
