Impression Isla Mujeres Joins The Unbound Collection by Hyatt as the Brand Turns Ten
/Hyatt has added a Caribbean island resort to The Unbound Collection as the brand marks its tenth year. Impression Isla Mujeres, a 123-suite, adults-only, all-inclusive resort at Punta Sur on the southern tip of Isla Mujeres, just off Cancún, joined the collection on 2 November 2026.
The resort
The resort opened in May 2023 under the Impression by Secrets brand. It sits in a naturally sheltered spot that is seldom affected by sargassum, close to a historic sanctuary associated with Ixchel, the Maya goddess of fertility, healing and the moon. Every suite has a private terrace, many looking over the Caribbean, and comes with butler service. There are infinity pools and private Mayan soaking tubs, and the wellbeing spaces now include yoga hammocks, wellness cabanas and TRX equipment. PURE Spa adds hydrotherapy, an island Hammam and a Floatarium.
Seven restaurants serve Italian, pan-Asian, Mexican, Mediterranean and grilled menus, and there are five bars and lounges, from swim-up to rooftop. The resort holds AAA Five Diamond status for 2026, was named to AAA's 2026 Top 10 Hotels list, and was called the "Most Instagrammable Hotel in the World" by Luxury Travel Advisor in 2024 and 2025. Contributors to the property include Mexican artist César López Negrete, architect Javier Uma and marine life artist Wyland.
Sharks and fishers
Since opening, the resort has given a share of room revenue to the nonprofit Saving Our Sharks Foundation and run guest snorkelling and shark-tagging trips. The partnership also helps local fishers move away from shark fishing.

Casa Duhau in Mendoza, Argentina, is expected to join in late 2027.
