At Roswyn, Intimate Dining Takes Two Different Forms, and Both Ask You to Stay

In a city that rarely slows down, the appeal of a dining experience that asks you to do exactly that is becoming harder to ignore. Intimate restaurants offer an escape from the rush; smaller rooms, quieter corners, thoughtful menus and, settings designed to let people linger, talk, and actually take in the experience. As attention becomes increasingly fragmented by busy schedules and constant stimulation, intimate dining offers something increasingly valuable: the chance to slow down, disconnect from the noise, and give an evening your full attention.

Step into Fi'lia, Mumbai's first female-led Italian restaurant at Roswyn, and the pace of the room changes almost immediately. Recipes passed down through generations of women shape a warm, generous approach to Italian dining here, one where nothing feels rushed and everything feels intentional. True to the Italian tradition of sharing a meal, Fi'lia's format invites exactly that kind of presence, a setting where food, company, and conversation are given room to unfold at their own pace, course by unhurried course. The menu moves easily between antipasti, handmade pastas and risotti, wood-fired pizzas, family-style plates, and seasonal sides, with standouts like the Pappardelle al Ragù, Risotto ai Funghi, Mortadella e Pistacchio, and Melanzane alla Parmigiana anchoring the table. And when the evening starts winding down, the signature Fi'liamisu arrives as a fittingly indulgent final note.

A floor away, in spirit if not in distance, Black Lacquer takes the opposite route to the same feeling. This underground cocktail bar and listening room is dim-lit and vinyl-lined, the kind of space where the music doesn't just play in the background but actually sets the tempo for the evening, with everything else, the conversation, the drinks, the food, falling into step behind it. Cocktails and Japanese-inspired plates keep pace with the soundtrack rather than the other way around, and the whole room feels built for staying a while: sharing a few plates, trading stories, letting the evening be measured in songs rather than minutes. Every pour here feels considered, never fussy, with signatures like the Midori Slush and Old Boy sharing the bar with sake, shochu, Japanese draft beer, wine, and champagne, each chosen to keep the night moving at its own unhurried rhythm. The izakaya-style menu follows the same instinct, with spicy hot wings, hand-rolls, and Tarogashi with black vinegar nuts made for passing around and picking at slowly.

At their core, Fi'lia and Black Lacquer are both making a case against distraction, one through a shared table, the other through a shared soundtrack. In either room, the evening asks for the same thing: a little time, and your full attention.

Roswyn Expands Mumbai's Luxury Dining Landscape with Fi'lia and Black Lacquer

Morgans Originals by Ennismore marks its India debut with Roswyn, home to Fi'lia and Black Lacquer, two distinctive culinary destinations that bring together Italian hospitality, cocktail culture and music-led experiences.

In a city that is constantly on the move, finding a place that feels familiar is a luxury in itself. Arriving in Mumbai as the first Morgans Originals by Ennismore property in India, Roswyn introduces a new kind of luxury hospitality, one that feels deeply personal, culturally attuned and effortlessly lived in. Conceived as a home in another city, Roswyn brings together thoughtful design, meaningful hospitality and immersive experiences, inviting guests to move seamlessly between moments of rest, connection and celebration. At the heart of this philosophy are Fi'lia and Black Lacquer, two distinct culinary destinations that together shape Roswyn into far more than a place to stay.

At Fi'lia, Italian hospitality is experienced the way it has been for generations around generous tables, shared plates and recipes that have travelled through families before finding their way onto the menu. Rooted in home-style cooking inspired by generations of women, the restaurant celebrates handmade pasta, Neapolitan-style pizza and seasonal produce, balancing timeless Italian classics with dishes that are thoughtful, contemporary and ingredient-led. Rather than recreating the formality of a traditional fine-dining restaurant, Fi'lia embraces the warmth and familiarity of an Italian home, where every meal becomes an occasion to gather, reconnect and create memories.

The experience extends beyond the kitchen into the bar, where an Italian-forward beverage programme showcases wines from across Italy, signature spritzes and vermouth-led cocktails that complement the restaurant's honest, comforting approach to dining. Together, the food, drinks and inviting atmosphere create a destination equally suited to leisurely lunches, intimate dinners and celebrations shared with family and friends.

As the evening unfolds, Roswyn invites guests below the surface to discover Black Lacquer, an underground listening bar where music takes centre stage. Inspired by Japan's listening bar culture, Black Lacquer blends expertly crafted cocktails, Japanese-inspired bar snacks and an ever-evolving vinyl soundtrack into a singular experience where every evening feels different from the last. Carefully curated music programming moves effortlessly across genres and moods, transforming the space throughout the day while creating an atmosphere that encourages conversation, discovery and connection.

More than a cocktail bar, Black Lacquer reimagines the modern social club for a new generation. Every detail from the cocktails to the soundtrack reflects the same commitment to creativity, generosity and thoughtful service that defines Roswyn itself.

Together, Fi'lia and Black Lacquer embody Roswyn's vision of creating spaces that evolve with the rhythm of the day and the people who inhabit them. Distinct in character yet united by a shared philosophy of genuine hospitality, they transform Roswyn into a destination where every experience, from an afternoon meal at Fi'lia to a late-night vinyl session at Black Lacquer, is designed to feel intuitive, memorable and deeply personal.

Roswyn, A Morgans Originals Hotel Debuts in Mumbai

Roswyn, a Morgans Originals hotel, has officially debuted in Mumbai, marking Ennismore’s first Morgans Originals property in India. Located near Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, the hotel introduces a lifestyle-led hospitality concept with 109 spacious suites, distinctive design, and curated dining and wellness experiences.

Mumbai, 2026 – Ennismore, in partnership with Accor, has announced the opening of Roswyn, India’s first Morgans Originals hotel, located adjacent to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. The launch marks a significant milestone in bringing globally relevant, lifestyle-led hospitality to India.

Roswyn offers 109 suites, each starting at 80 sq. m, designed as living spaces with lounge areas, kitchenettes, home bars, and dedicated study corners. The property is crafted to reflect the rhythm of city life, blending convenience with cultural character. Paris-based designer Daphné Desjeux has infused Mumbai-inspired elements into the interiors, including embroidered portraits, “Bombay”-marked ceramic plates, and shoreline-inspired photography.

Food and beverage form the heart of Roswyn’s experience. Fi’lia, the hotel’s Italian restaurant, serves Neapolitan-style pizzas, hand-rolled pastas, and seasonal menus rooted in generational traditions. Black Lacquer, a Japanese listening bar, celebrates vinyl music culture, offering sake, shochu, highballs, and signature cocktails in a setting that transitions from intimate conversations to vibrant nightlife. The hotel also features The Third Room, a social workspace for meetings, networking, and informal gatherings.

Lifestyle and wellness facilities include a Technogym-powered fitness centre, infinity pool, Tiny Town children’s zone, and Blu Xone, a longevity-focused wellness concept introduced for the first time in India.

Commenting on the launch, Louis Abboud, Chief Growth Officer, Ennismore, said: “Lifestyle hospitality today is about creating culturally relevant destinations that become part of a city’s everyday rhythm. India is one of the most dynamic hospitality markets globally, and Roswyn marks our first Morgans Originals hotel in the country, with more distinctive projects to follow.”

Ranju Alex, CEO, Accor South Asia, added: “With Roswyn, we are not just introducing a new hotel, but a vibrant destination designed to integrate seamlessly into Mumbai’s cultural fabric. This opening underscores our commitment to expanding our lifestyle portfolio in India.”

The hotel is led by Rajiv Kapoor, General Manager of Fairmont Mumbai and Roswyn, alongside Annam Lubana, Hotel Manager, who bring a leadership style focused on clarity, consistency, and intuitive service.

Roswyn represents a new chapter in India’s hospitality landscape, combining Morgans Originals’ design-led ethos with Ennismore’s vision for lifestyle-driven experiences.

Roswyn, a Morgans Originals Hotel Debuts in Mumbai

Mumbai, May 2026 — Roswyn marks Ennismore’s first Morgans Originals in India. For those already familiar with Morgans Originals, the brand’s core spirit is immediately recognizable: a collection of hotels consistently shaped by unique personality, innovative design, and an inherent sense of belonging.

Roswyn was imagined around real city life. Work meetings, late dinners, quick stopovers that turn into longer stays. Large-format suites, restaurants worth lingering over, a social workspace and longevity-led wellness all come together here: a place where living, working and the city’s cultural energy overlap naturally.

Roswyn is located adjacent to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport — close enough for convenience but never removed from the city’s infectious energy. People arrive, meetings happen, plans change, flights get pushed, and somewhere along the way, the stay stretches a little longer, naturally.

Inside are 109 suites starting at 80 sq. m, designed as living spaces rather than traditional hotel rooms. Each includes a lounge area, kitchenette, home bar, and a dedicated study: a proper space to work, let creativity lead, and really focus without distraction. Guests can unpack and settle in, with spaces that quickly begin to feel like their own.

“Mumbai moves quickly,” says Nitan Chhatwal, Managing Director of Shrem Airport Hotels. “But people still look for places where they can slow down, meet, and spend time together. With Roswyn, we wanted to create something that feels easy to return to — whether that’s for dinner, conversations, or simply a pause in the day.”

Paris-based designer Daphné Desjeux approached Roswyn as a home shaped by Mumbai’s character rather than its clichés. It’s noticeable in the fine details: embroidered portraits that feel like fragments of memory, ceramic plates marked simply “Bombay,” and a photographic study of a shoreline capturing the calmer side of urban life. Together, these elements create spaces that feel layered and personal, revealing more the longer guests spend time within them.

Food and drink have their own personalities here as well. Fi’lia, the Italian restaurant, is built around the idea of generational cooking: recipes that move from nonna to mother to daughter, translated here into Neapolitan-style pizzas, hand-rolled pastas, and a seasonal menu that leans on familiarity without staying fixed to it. It works as much as a neighborhood restaurant as it does a hotel one, particularly across long lunches and late dinners that tend to carry on.

Black Lacquer shifts the tone. A Japanese listening bar organized around vinyl, it moves through different tempos across the evening: low-lit and conversational early on, building into something more animated as the night carries forward. The drinks follow a similar restraint: a tightly edited list, precise rather than elaborate, with sake, shochu, and classic highballs sitting alongside house signatures.

Elsewhere, The Third Room is where work and downtime naturally meet: travelers between flights, locals stopping in for meetings, and guests who ended up inspired, networking with locals and each other. It’s a space that adapts easily — suited to a quick catch-up, a few hours of focus, or an unplanned drink.

Guests also benefit from a wider set of facilities, including a Technogym-powered fitness centre and infinity pool. There’s a Tiny Town children’s zone for those travelling with kids, along with a longevity-focused wellness offering — Blu Xone, a first of its kind in India. Everything sits comfortably within the same address, so while each space retains its own identity, it all feels effortlessly connected and complements the overall Roswyn stay.

Louis Abboud, Chief Growth Officer, Ennismore, said, “Lifestyle hospitality today is about far more than design-led hotels; it’s about creating culturally relevant destinations that become part of a city’s everyday rhythm. India is one of the most dynamic hospitality markets globally and an important focus for Ennismore’s growth. Roswyn, under Morgans Originals, marks our first hotel in the country and an important step as we look to bring several more distinctive projects to the market in the years ahead.”

Ranju Alex, CEO, Accor South Asia, said, “At Accor, we see hospitality as an ever-evolving reflection of how people live, connect, and experience cities today. The opening of Roswyn, as part of Ennismore brands, marks an important milestone in bringing globally relevant, lifestyle-led hospitality to India. With Roswyn, we are not just introducing a new hotel, but a vibrant destination designed to integrate seamlessly into the cultural fabric of the city. This launch underscores our commitment to expanding our lifestyle portfolio in India, in partnership with Ennismore, and delivering distinctive experiences that resonate with the modern traveller.”

The hotel is led by Rajiv Kapoor, General Manager of Fairmont Mumbai and Roswyn, alongside Annam Lubana, Hotel Manager. Together, they bring a leadership style grounded in clarity and consistency, shaping an experience where service feels intuitive and spaces are thoughtfully considered. Their focus is simple: to create an environment that feels cohesive, welcoming, and interesting.

As Rajiv puts it, “Mumbai doesn’t need more overt luxury. It needs places that understand how people actually want to experience the city and respond to that without getting in the way.”

Roswyn isn’t here to create a new category. It simply offers a way of staying that feels intuitive, where guests can settle in, meet the city through its experiences, food and people, and move through the day with ease. In Mumbai, that feels exactly right for this moment.
