CHIVAS REGAL 18 UNVEILS SLEEK NEW LOOK

National, January, 2025: Chivas Regal, the world’s first luxury whisky, has unveiled a sleek new look for its award-winning Chivas Regal 18 years. This reaffirms not only Chivas Regal’s dedication to luxury, but also its wider commitment to reducing its environmental impact. One of the most highly awarded scotch blends in the world, Chivas 18’s multi-layered blend, is renowned for its great taste and complexity with 85 flavour notes in every drop. The elevated, redesigned bottle – housing the same award-winning Scotch – features a 25% glass weight reduction on its flagship 70cl bottle and fully recyclable outer packaging[1]. The flagship 70cl bottle’s reduction in glass weight will result in significant environmental benefits, estimated to save over 500 tonnes of glass annually based on FY24 volume sales[2] worldwide.

Luxury aficionados experienced the launch of Chivas Regal in its elevated new look at House of Chivas at Ajio Luxe Weekend 2025. Conceived by designer Kunal Rawal, the House of Chivas was a sophisticated haven celebrating opulence and craftsmanship. Renowned personalities such as Anaita Shroff Adajania, Malaika Arora, Shalini Passi, Sussanne Khan, Ashiesh Shah, Siddharth Malhotra, Arjun Kapoor and more, graced the occasion and experienced the refined, sophisticated new look of Chivas 18.

The updated bottle features a taller, prouder silhouette with rounded shoulders, and a jewel-like, layered, and multi-faceted label. The iconic Luckenbooth, a traditional Scottish symbol that embodies Chivas Regal’s heritage and values, is now positioned at the heart of the label, and embossed into the glass base. The classic Chivas Regal shield and crossed spears - now embossed into the glass for a more refined and luxurious look - signify protection and loyalty, reflecting the brotherhood of James and John Chivas, whose entrepreneurial spirit set the groundwork for the world’s first luxury whisky. The new design brings Chivas Regal 18 in line with Chivas Regal 12, which unveiled a contemporary new look in 2021, and follows the transformation of Chivas Regal Ultis XX (aged 20 years) and Chivas Regal XV (aged 15 years).

Teatime is Tree Time at Banyan Tree Krabi

Thai beachfront resort rolls out new Afternoon Tea menu

KRABI, Thailand 2025— Named after the tropical banyan tree, a symbol of sanctuary under which one finds peace of mind and internal harmony, this luxury resort in southern Thailand has adopted the concept in its most recent introduction of a special Afternoon Tea set, available to guests and passing visitors alike.

Not only is afternoon tea served in ever–so-refined porcelain and presented with a colourful assortment of “hot and cold nibbles” — including signature specialties such as Pani Puri Caviar, Truffle-Braised Wagyu Beef, and Mango Sticky Rice Mousse Cake — but the venue is rather otherworldly too: three “Bird’s Nest” tables sit precariously among the trees, perched high above the resort and overlooking the Andaman Sea.

The Bird’s Nest tables, which can seat a group of up to four, were an immediate favourite among guests when the resort opened its doors in 2020, and they have since become something of a photographer’s paradise, with their scenic backdrop of green forest and blue sea.

Attached by a short walkway to Banyan Tree Krabi’s signature Thai restaurant, Saffron, which is in turn accessible from the resort by a ride in an electric funicular, the panoramic trio of Bird’s Eye tables are one of the most outstanding features of the hotel, which was listed in this year’s MICHELIN Guide to Thailand.

The new Afternoon Tea offer includes a choice of three exquisite crockery sets — the Citrus Charm Collection, the Sapphire Sips Collection, and the Birdsong & Blossom Bliss Collection — each with either a Chinoiserie or Classical porcelain pattern.

The selection of teas is supplied by the Dilmah Ceylon Tea Company, and includes all the favourites one might expect: English Breakfast, Earl Grey, Sencha Green Tea, Jasmine Green Tea, Peppermint, and Chamomile.

Finger foods are brought to the table on a three-tiered “bird-cage” curate. The chef recommends his own creation: House-Smoked Salmon and Black King Fish Wrapped in Betel Leaves, Local Herb Salad, Roasted Chili, Cashew Nuts, Crispy Fried Shallots and Roasted-Rice Tamarind Dressing. Also not to be missed are the homemade scones. Both the Sesame Puff Filled with Pandan Custard scone and the Sweet-Sour Lychee in Orange-Flavoured Syrup scone are worth the flight to Thailand alone.

There are two sittings for Bird’s Nest table reservations: either 2pm – 3:30 pm or 3:30 pm – 5pm. Ideal for special romantic occasions such as anniversaries or birthdays, the Signature Afternoon Tea at Banyan Tree Krabi costs 2,900 THB per couple, and there is also the option of a vegetarian set for 2,200 THB.

Treebo parent THV strengthens presence in mid-market segment with the launch of new hotel brand, ‘Medalio’

This launch comes close on the heels of the opening of Park Inn & Suites by Radisson Thrissur, the company’s first hotel under its master franchise partnership with Radisson Hotel Group to address the vast opportunity in the mid-market segment represented by the price range of Rs 3,500-6,000

Treebo Hospitality Ventures (THV) today announced the launch of its new premium hotel brand called ‘Medalio’. Derived from the word ‘medallion’, the brand is conceived as being a tribute to the achievements of its patrons who expect their chosen hotels to provide a premium experience that matches their elevated lifestyles. Medalio hotels will come with modern and elegant decor, spacious rooms, 10-inch plush mattresses, separate shower cubicles in bathrooms, wide breakfast spreads, premium Kimirica toiletries, prompt and cheerful service, and memory corners.

The company announced the opening of the first hotel under the Medalio brand at Udaipur. Medalio Resort Udaipur Shobhagpura is located in the heart of the enchanting city of lakes and features 30 well-appointed rooms. In addition to all the standard Medalio amenities, this hotel also offers guests a swimming pool, a charming garden, spa, safety lockers, and mini-fridge in the rooms.

This launch comes close on the heels of the recent opening of Park Inn & Suites by Radisson Thrissur, the company’s first hotel under its master franchise partnership with Radisson Hotel Group. Both companies are targeting a portfolio of 150 hotels under the ‘Park Inn & Suites by Radisson’ brand over the next 10 years.

Both these launches are part of THV’s strategy to capture the vast opportunity presented by the mid-market segment, defined broadly as hotels in the price range of Rs 3,500-6,000 per night.  While the ‘Park Inn & Suites by Radisson’ brand requires assets to have a minimum of 50 keys, the ‘Medalio’ brand is designed for smaller assets having 20-50 keys.

Commenting on the launch, Sidharth Gupta, Co-founder & CEO of THV, said, “India is going through an unprecedented reshaping of the income pyramid. As per a recent report by Google, Bain, and Temasek, by 2030, there will be an additional 65 million households that will have joined the upper middle-income segment. Together, these 168M households will represent 52% of all consumption that happens in the country up from about 35% today. This made a compelling case for us to expand from the economy segment to the mid-market segment.”

“Indians are working hard to achieve growth in their income levels and to afford an elevated standard of living for themselves and their families. Medalio is a tribute to this upward and onward journey of our guests. It’s our endeavour to cater to the higher expectations they will naturally have from their hotels. It’s our toast to their success,” Gupta added.

In line with the brand philosophy, THV launched the brand in a unique, glittering event where it felicitated high performers from various organisations, whom it called ‘medalists’. These medalists inaugurated the brand at the Udaipur property. As part of the launch, these high performers were flown in from their respective cities to receive their medals and an all-expenses paid tour of the beautiful city of Udaipur.

The next set of Medalio hotels are expected to launch in Delhi, Gangtok, Chandigarh, and Prayagraj. The company said that while the response from property owners for the brand has been overwhelming, it was consciously going slow with new signings and is focusing on ensuring that each new hotel is fully compliant with all brand standards.

“Asset owners having smaller properties of less than 50 keys have so far had limited options to partner with a brand. This is what we are looking to change with Medalio. With our comprehensive support across design & construction, operations, sales, and technology, we will be the ideal partners for these asset owners and will help them join the organised segment of the industry,” Gupta concluded.

Eight Continents Hotels & Resorts: Transforming Hospitality with a Vision for Global Growth

December 2024, INDIA - Founded in 2020 and headquartered in the United Kingdom, Eight Continents Hotels & Resorts has swiftly emerged as a transformative force in the global hospitality landscape. Despite its recent inception, the brand has achieved remarkable growth, driven by an ambitious vision to become the fastest-growing hotel management chain worldwide. At the heart of its success lies a unique approach that integrates exceptional service, advanced digital infrastructure, and a focus on nurturing a cohesive, dynamic team. This strategy has enabled Eight Continents to redefine hospitality, creating extraordinary experiences that set new industry benchmarks.

India holds a central role in Eight Continents’ journey. Recognizing the nation’s immense potential as a global tourism hub, the company has strategically expanded its presence across key regions, seamlessly blending local charm with world-class luxury in its properties. This expansion is anchored in the company’s innovative Emotique Hotels concept, which reimagines hospitality as an emotional journey. Every Emotique property is meticulously designed to engage guests on a sensory level, transforming ordinary stays into profoundly personal experiences. Awe-inspiring architecture, serene environments, and personalized services are carefully curated to evoke feelings of joy, wonder, and peace, offering a hospitality experience that resonates with the soul.

“Our mission is to craft spaces where guests feel understood and inspired,” explains CEO Haninder Sachdeva. “Hospitality should not only cater to physical comforts but also nurture the soul, leaving a lasting emotional impact.” This philosophy extends to the brand’s service ethos, where every team member is trained to act as an “architect of emotion.” By prioritizing empathy and personalized care, the brand fosters genuine connections, creating an environment where guests feel truly valued.

Eight Continents’ dedication to crafting exceptional experiences extends to its culinary and wellness offerings. Dining at its properties is elevated to an art form, where each dish tells a story, evoking nostalgia, excitement, or comfort. Complementing this is the brand’s emphasis on wellness, with offerings that include meditation sessions, mindfulness workshops, and rejuvenating spa treatments. These initiatives provide guests with moments of introspection and relaxation, fostering emotional renewal.

Despite its rapid growth, Eight Continents has navigated its share of challenges. Talent acquisition and technology adoption have been particularly pressing issues. The global shortage of skilled hospitality professionals, exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, prompted the company to collaborate with educational institutions and establish apprenticeship programs. These initiatives provide aspiring professionals with hands-on experience, nurturing the next generation of hospitality talent. “This is an investment in the future of our industry,” notes Sachdeva. Similarly, convincing hotel owners to embrace advanced technologies like AI-powered operations and robotic automation was initially met with resistance. However, the company’s ability to demonstrate the tangible benefits of these innovations has fostered a culture of technological openness among its partners.

A major milestone in Eight Continents’ journey was its recent expansion into Scotland with the acquisition of the historic Taychreggan Hotel. Nestled on the shores of Loch Awe, this 17th-century property combines heritage and contemporary luxury, offering guests an authentic Scottish experience. “Taychreggan is our first fully owned property, symbolizing our commitment to curating unique and iconic destinations,” shares Sachdeva. Plans are underway to expand further in Scotland, leveraging its rich cultural and natural assets to create exceptional retreats.

Looking ahead, the next 12-16 months promise transformative growth for Eight Continents. The company is focusing on expanding into Tier 1 cities in India, such as Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, to meet the rising demand for lifestyle and luxury accommodations. Internationally, Europe and the UK remain key markets for strategic acquisitions and partnerships. In response to the growing trend of wellness-oriented travel, the brand is integrating health-conscious offerings across its properties to attract clientele seeking holistic experiences. Additionally, Eight Continents is venturing into consultancy, offering expertise to hotels in India, the UK, and Africa, further solidifying its industry leadership.

Central to the company’s strategy is building a distinctive and recognizable brand identity. Every element, from visual design to messaging, is crafted to resonate with modern travelers. “Our goal is to stand out in a crowded market by staying true to our values and delivering consistently exceptional experiences,” says Sachdeva. This vision is supported by a strong commitment to creating a people-centric workplace culture, where employees are empowered to embody the brand’s ethos. “Engaged employees are the cornerstone of memorable guest experiences,” he adds
