JW Marriott Mount Kenya Rhino Reserve Safari Camp – Reservations Now Open
/Nairobi, Kenya – April 2026: Reservations are now open for JW Marriott Mount Kenya Rhino Reserve Safari Camp, a luxury safari retreat owned and operated by Lazizi Solio Limited, set to welcome guests from July 2026. Nestled within the renowned Solio Game Reserve, one of Kenya’s oldest private rhino sanctuaries, the camp will bring JW Marriott’s signature blend of sophisticated design, exceptional service, and holistic wellbeing to the heart of nature.
Positioned between the slopes of Mount Kenya and the peaks of the Aberdare Ranges, the camp will feature 19 tented sanctuaries with sweeping mountain views, including an expansive two‑bedroom suite ideal for families or small groups. Each tent will offer spacious indoor and outdoor living areas, creating an intimate retreat where guests can pause, reflect, and reconnect with nature.
Guests will enjoy tranquil wellness spaces, including the brand’s signature Garden by JW, a fragrant oasis of botanicals inspiring both culinary and spa experiences. The Spa by JW will present a curated menu of restorative treatments rooted in balance and mindfulness, complemented by a fully equipped fitness centre and serene pool.
Dining will be anchored by three distinctive culinary experiences:
A traditional restaurant showcasing locally inspired cuisine
Outdoor dining in the garden beneath vast African skies
Immersive bush dining highlighting seasonal ingredients and regional flavours
Additional amenities include a retail boutique, library and games room, an atmospheric firepit, and the Map Room, a natural gathering point featuring a detailed map of Solio Game Reserve to plan daily adventures.
Beyond the camp, curated experiences will foster meaningful connections with nature and culture. Guests can embark on guided cycling safaris, day and night game drives, and nature walks, encountering rhinos, leopards, lions, plains game, and abundant birdlife.
Operating within the framework of Solio Conservancy’s established rules and regulations, the camp offers a safari shaped by low visitor numbers, ensuring time and space to engage thoughtfully with the setting.
The camp will also contribute to local initiatives, including supporting a nearby school with meals and operational assistance. Sustainability practices will be embedded across operations, with systems to reuse, recycle, and repurpose waste, compost organic materials, upcycle glass into locally crafted items, and partner with certified recyclers.
Construction materials, furnishings, and artwork have been sourced largely from Kenyan suppliers such as Kitengela Glass, Safari Bronze, and Ceramiqa, while the workforce will predominantly comprise Kenyan nationals, ensuring employment and training opportunities that strengthen local livelihoods.
