Marriott Business Councils Mobilize “An Army of Goodness” to Support Communities Impacted by Venezuela Earthquakes

When disaster strikes, Marriott International associates around the world come together to serve our world and support those in need, demonstrating the power of service that defines the company’s culture. In response to the recent earthquakes impacting the people of Venezuela, Marriott’s Business Councils – Marriott’s regional networks of General Managers and associates – and philanthropic partners have mobilized quickly acting as “an army of goodness” to deliver meaningful humanitarian assistance to those affected on the ground.

A Collective Effort in Motion

Across Florida, hotels in the Marriott International portfolio have come together to collect essential relief supplies for the people of Venezuela. Associates gathered over 55 pallets of goods, including food, hygiene products, and other critical items, which were donated to support individuals and families in need.

This effort has been made possible through close collaboration across teams on the ground and Marriott’s incredible community and business partners:

  • Marriott’s Florida Business Council coordinated collection efforts across properties in Tampa, Orlando, and South Florida.

  • Crown Linen provided transportation support, using company trucks to consolidate and move donations to Doral, Florida.

  • Nonprofit Global Empowerment Mission is facilitating final delivery, helping supplies reach communities impacted across Venezuela.

In Caracas, Marriott’s franchised hotels are also supporting relief operations on the ground. The Renaissance Caracas La Castellana Hotel has partnered with World Central Kitchen to serve as a home base for WCK teams as they coordinate and deliver meals to those impacted.

Marriott hotels and Business Councils throughout the Caribbean and Latin America are also supporting relief efforts, from assembling aid kits and collecting supplies to holding local fundraisers in markets across Peru, Colombia, Panama, El Salvador, Honduras, Dominican Republic, and Barbados.

Together, our associates have created a network of support, demonstrating the impact that coordinated, community-led action can have in times of crisis.

Supporting Communities Through the Marriott Disaster Relief Fund

In addition to grassroots associate action, Marriott International is supporting relief efforts through its Marriott Disaster Relief Fund (MDRF), helping both associates and their communities:

  • Company Support: Marriott has donated to UNICEF* and World Central Kitchen (WCK) to help fund their local relief efforts.

  • Associate Support: In partnership with its Caribbean and Latin America team and hotel ownership, the MDRF is providing assistance to Venezuelan franchise associates who have lost homes or suffered home damage as a result of the earthquakes.

Mobilizing Through Marriott Bonvoy

Beyond our collective on-the-ground efforts, Marriott is also engaging its global community of travelers to support disaster relief through Marriott Bonvoy.

Members can donate their points to UNICEF and World Central Kitchen to help them provide critical resources such as food, clean water, and emergency assistance to those impacted. To further amplify these contributions, Marriott is offering a points match – up to 25 million points – through September 30, helping extend the reach and impact of member generosity.

Members can learn more and contribute through Marriott’s disaster relief platform below:

By connecting the power of its loyalty program with philanthropic partners, Marriott enables guests and members around the world to play a role in supporting recovery efforts.

A Culture of Service in Action Around the World

From collecting donations and coordinating logistics to supporting nonprofit partners and assisting impacted associates, Marriott’s 116+ Business Councils worldwide reflect the strength of our global network of compassionate associates and their enduring commitment to Serve Our World.

Our Business Councils are a powerful force for good in our communities. They’re a strong reflection of Marriott’s values and essential to who we are as a company. I view Business Councils as Marriott’s army of goodness — people who lead with heart, step up to help those in need, and make a difference to our associates, guests, and the communities we serve every single day.

JW Marriott Unveils a Mindful Sanctuary in Kenya’s Solio Game Reserv

Key Facts

  • JW Marriott Mount Kenya Rhino Reserve Safari Camp opens in Solio Game Reserve, Laikipia, Kenya, a 45,000-acre private conservancy known for its role in rhino conservation.

  • The camp features 19 tented suites, complemented by spaces designed to support holistic well-being, including garden-led dining and the brand’s signature Spa by JW offering restorative treatments.

  • Guests can participate in guided day and night game drives, as well as walking, cycling and birding safaris, with access to professional Canon photography equipment and expert guidance.

  • An educational visit to the Solio Rhino Orphanage provides insight into the rehabilitation of orphaned rhinos and conservation efforts within the reserve.

JW Marriott today announces the opening of JW Marriott Mount Kenya Rhino Reserve Safari Camp in Solio Game Reserve, Laikipia, Kenya. Nestled between the slopes of Mount Kenya and the Aberdare Ranges, the camp introduces a wellness-focussed safari experience where guests can slow down, reset and connect with the wonders of the reserve’s wildlife and vibrant flora.

Solio Game Reserve is a 45,000-acre private conservancy recognized for its longstanding role in rhino conservation and home to one of Africa’s largest populations of both black and white rhinos, alongside leopards, lions, waterbuck, zebras, Thomson's gazelles, and prolific birdlife. Wildlife viewing takes place throughout the day, with guided game drives at sunrise and in the late afternoon, while night drives offer a distinct perspective, when predators such as leopard, lion and spotted hyena are most active, and elusive nocturnal species, including serval and caracal, emerge after dark. Evenings can also be spent at camp, gathered around the fire pit to share the day’s meaningful moments.

Design Inspired by Nature

Blending seamlessly into its surroundings, the camp’s 19 tented suites, including a two-bedroom suite, are set discreetly for privacy, each offering sweeping views of Mount Kenya, the Aberdare Mountains, nearby waterholes or open savannah. Designed by LW Design, the architecture is guided by a philosophy inspired by the quiet presence of the rhino, shaping an intimate retreat where design defers to nature. Low-slung timber and canvas structures sit lightly within the landscape, expressing a restrained sense of luxury.

Roll-up canvas walls create a fluid transition between interior and exterior, allowing the sights and sounds of the conservancy to move effortlessly through each space. Generous outdoor living areas offer private decks and plunge pools while indoor freestanding baths invite moments of reflection, immersed in the natural surroundings.

Inside, the design draws on Kenyan craft and influences. Natural palettes of warm earth tones, soft greens and charcoal hues are layered with tactile materials, woven textiles, and hand-carved timber, creating a calming, contemporary aesthetic. Furnishings and artwork sourced from Kenyan artisans, including Kitengela Glass, Safari Bronze and Ceramiqa, can be seen throughout, anchoring each space in local heritage.

Shared spaces invite guests to curate their experience, from the Map Room – featuring a detailed map of the conservancy and serving as a natural gathering point to plan each day – to the library and games room, offering a relaxed setting where younger guests can unwind and connect. The retail boutique showcases contemporary Kenyan art and craft, including beadwork and textiles from local makers.

Enriching Safari Experiences

Beyond game drives, guests can discover their surroundings through guided walking safaris, cycling excursions, and birding led by expert guides, offering insight into the region’s diverse plant life and more than 300 recorded bird species. Photography also plays a central role with guests able to access professional Canon camera equipment and benefit from on-site guidance from resident photographers to frame the landscape and wildlife. Guests can embark on adventures to connect with the destination and discover its natural beauty through bespoke experiences, arranged by request, including helicopter excursions, trout fishing on Mount Kenya, and painting sessions at sunset.

Nourished by Nature

Dining at the camp is a celebration of seasonality and a deep connection to place. At the heart of the experience is the signature garden, where herbs, fruits and vegetables are grown on site and incorporated directly into menus. The garden also serves as a dedicated dining setting with “The Garden Table,” an intimate multi-course experience showcasing freshly harvested ingredients.

Mavuno, the camp’s signature restaurant, presents seasonal menus shaped by Kenyan flavors, global influences and open-fire cooking, while Ember Bar and Lounge offers a fireside setting for relaxed drinks and sharing plates. JW Marriott Mount Kenya Rhino Reserve Safari Camp’s “Five Elements” cocktail program draws on smoke, spice, earth, honey and fire, complemented by cold-pressed juices and botanical infusions using fresh local ingredients. A dedicated wine room offers bespoke tastings of a curated selection of wines, alongside intimate private dining experiences.

Beyond the camp, guests can enjoy bush dining experiences, from brunches under acacia trees to candlelit dinners beneath the stars. Further foodie experiences rooted in place include bread-making and Kenyan cooking classes.

Serene Wellness

Tranquil wellness spaces encourage guests to embrace the present moment. The Spa by JW features a curated menu of treatments rooted in regional healing traditions and highland botanicals. These restorative therapies incorporate premium products from Kenyan skincare brand Jani, enriched with raw, local ingredients like highland moringa, wild aloe, Laikipia honey, cedar, and clove. At the center of the offering is the signature Solio Passage half-day experience designed as a complete reset, bringing together a sequence of treatments – from volcanic stone therapies and botanical massage to a glacial hydrotherapy soak, and cedar forest bathing – within one immersive, restorative program.

A fully equipped fitness center, a serene outdoor pool, and quiet spaces for reflection provide additional opportunities for guests to restore balance and unwind at their own pace.

Stewardship of Place

Operating within Solio Game Reserve, the camp embraces established guidelines that prioritize conservation and responsible tourism. This low-density approach creates a thoughtful experience, where fewer vehicles and open space allow for a deeper sense of immersion.

An educational visit to the Solio Rhino Orphanage offers a rare, unfiltered insight into the conservation efforts that underpin the reserve, where orphaned rhino calves and other wildlife are rehabilitated before being reintroduced into the conservancy. The experience brings guests closer to the realities of this work, from daily care to long-term recovery, highlighting the dedication required to protect local species.

Beyond this, the camp contributes to a number of locally driven initiatives through the Lazizi Welfare Foundation, including a daily meal program at Riacho Comprehensive School, providing consistent nutrition to support student well-being and learning.

The camp also supports the conservancy-led Solio Women’s Empowerment Project, where women from surrounding communities create handcrafted pieces such as beaded room-key bracelets and crochet rhinos – all integrated into the guest experience. Select items are also available in the camp’s retail boutique, with all proceeds returning directly to the project, ensuring meaningful and sustained economic benefit at a local level.

Sustainability is embedded across operations, supported by solar energy infrastructure and water conservation measures including rainwater harvesting and wastewater recycling systems. Waste is carefully managed to minimize environmental impact, with materials reused, recycled and repurposed where possible, including composting and selective upcycling for in-camp use.

Ninety-five percent of the workforce comprises Kenyan nationals, supporting long-term employment, skills development and economic contribution within the region.

Getting There

The camp is located near Nanyuki Airstrip, approximately a 30-minute flight from Wilson Airport, or a three-hour drive by road from Nairobi. Alternatively, guests can book a private charter from Wilson Airport to Solio Ranch Airstrip – a 35-minute flight from Wilson Airport and a 10-minute drive to camp.

Rates start from $1499 per person, per night (all-inclusive*).

Marriott International Signs Agreement with Fitwel to Advance Wellness in Global Branded Residences Portfolio

Key Facts:

  • Marriott International signed an agreement with Fitwel to become its first Enterprise Partner, implementing Fitwel solutions across its global branded residential portfolio to advance wellness at scale.

  • Marriott International is the first branded residences and hospitality company to achieve Fitwel’s Champion+ designation.

  • Serving as the pilot for the global partnership, The Ritz-Carlton Residences Chicago, Magnificent Mile successfully achieved a 2-star Fitwel certification in March.

Marriott International, Inc. today announced an agreement with Fitwel, a leading healthy building certification system focused on optimizing occupant health through built environment strategies, to further integrate wellness solutions across its global branded residential portfolio.

Underscoring Marriott’s focus on advancing health and wellness in residential design and operations, this agreement marks Fitwel’s first enterprise partnership and establishes Marriott as Fitwel’s first hospitality Champion+ company, a designation recognizing organizations that implement wellness solutions at scale to create a consistent and lasting positive impact for residents and communities. This portfolio-wide agreement is designed to go beyond the individual residential property level, spanning solutions across Marriott International’s full residential portfolio, aligning operational excellence with a measurable, globally recognized standard for healthier buildings.

“As owner expectations continue to evolve, Marriott is focused on shaping residential experiences that encompass thoughtful design, signature amenities, and a strong emphasis on wellness,” said John Hearns, Senior Vice President, Global Residential Operations. “We are proud to be the first hospitality company to partner with Fitwel, a leading evidence-based certification program, at scale. We are confident this collaboration is a meaningful step in elevating the company’s global branded residential portfolio.”

(Adai). “As Fitwel’s first Enterprise Partnership and the first branded residences and hospitality company achieving Fitwel’s Champion+ designation, Marriott is helping set a new global benchmark for how health can be scaled across portfolios in ways that benefit owners, residents, guests, associates, and long-term asset performance.”

The agreement builds on the successful completion of a pilot program at The Ritz-Carlton Residences Chicago, Magnificent Mile which achieved a 2-star Fitwel Certification in March. The property features a working fruit and vegetable roof garden for its residents, a state-of-the-art fitness center with saunas and steam rooms, among other health and wellness amenities. Fitwel-certified environments support physical and mental well-being, improve indoor environmental quality, and foster community connection, enhancing both guest experience and workplace performance. Fitwel Champion+ participants are recognized for their accomplishments and forward-looking commitments to building health and receive enhanced support from Fitwel to maximize portfolio-wide impact.

  • Ask Bonvoy is launching in beta and will initially be available in U.S. English on Marriott.com and in the iOS and Android Marriott Bonvoy mobile apps to a subset of Marriott Bonvoy members and users who sign up for Marriott Bonvoy.

  • As part of Marriott’s commitment to enhancing the Marriott Bonvoy experience, Ask Bonvoy is designed to make it easier for members to explore stays, amenities and experiences. Over time, Ask Bonvoy will be made available to Marriott’s nearly 283 million Marriott Bonvoy members and global travelers who sign up for the Marriott Bonvoy program.

Marriott International, Inc. (Nasdaq: MAR) today announced the beta launch of Ask Bonvoy™, a new conversational, natural language search experience designed to help travelers more intuitively discover incredible destinations across the Marriott Bonvoy® portfolio of approximately 10,000 properties in 146 countries and territories. Ask Bonvoy is designed to help travelers search for stays and plan their trips using conversational language, delivering customized results that lead to unforgettable experiences.

Ask Bonvoy will launch in beta and will initially be available in U.S. English on Marriott.com, and in the iOS and Android Marriott Bonvoy mobile apps to a subset of Marriott Bonvoy members and users who sign up for Marriott Bonvoy. This measured rollout reflects Marriott’s commitment to delivering a seamless customer experience, allowing Ask Bonvoy to scale gradually to adjust to real-time feedback and improve performance. A full, global release of the experience is planned for later this year.

“For nearly a century, Marriott has embraced change and been a leading innovator in the industry,” said Anthony Capuano, President and CEO, Marriott International. “Ask Bonvoy builds on that legacy, bringing conversational AI to the heart of how travelers explore Marriott’s extraordinary global portfolio. Today’s beta launch is a powerful example of our continued investment in technology as we aim to make travel planning easier, more intuitive, and more personal.”

Powered by Marriott’s proprietary AI architecture, Ask Bonvoy interprets a natural language search query, identifies a member’s trip purpose, and provides users with relevant and curated results from Marriott’s portfolio of thousands of properties around the world. Responses are grounded exclusively in Marriott owned, verified property data rather than open web content, fostering greater reliability for guests looking to understand hotel features and amenities such as dining options, spa experiences and recreational offerings like golf.

“Travelers are increasingly looking for faster, more intuitive ways to search, explore, and plan their trips,” said Drew Pinto, Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue & Technology Officer, Marriott International. “Grounded in Marriott’s own data and backed by the power of Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio of offerings, Ask Bonvoy is designed to meet travelers in a modern way at every point in their journey, whether they know exactly where and when they’d like to travel or are just beginning their trip discovery. Our measured launch allows us to learn directly from our customers on how they like to search so we can refine and adapt before we scale globally. We are excited to launch Ask Bonvoy as Marriott continues to transform the future of travel.”

Ask Bonvoy is designed to complement the existing search function on Marriott.com and in the Marriott Bonvoy Apps. Members using Ask Bonvoy in beta can continue to search using traditional dates and location filters, while also choosing to explore destinations and properties through more conversational prompts such as travel purpose, location attributes, and desired amenities such as dining, spa and golf options. Once users have identified their stay within the Ask Bonvoy platform, the experience will seamlessly hand off to Marriott’s existing booking capabilities to complete reservations. As Marriott continues to refine the Ask Bonvoy experience, the model will support loyalty points-based searches over time.

The launch of Ask Bonvoy is the latest step in Marriott’s digital and technology transformation journey. Marriott actively collaborates with numerous tech companies and is partnering with Google on its forthcoming Google AI Mode travel product and with Open AI on its Ad Pilot Program. In 2024, Marriott launched an industry-leading natural language search capability on its Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy platform.

Over time, Marriott plans to make Ask Bonvoy available to its nearly 283 million Marriott Bonvoy members and global travelers who sign up for the Marriott Bonvoy program and book exclusively on Marriott.com and the Marriott Bonvoy Apps.

Marriott International and The Fern Hotels & Resorts Celebrate 75 Signings and 50 Openings for Series by Marriott in India

Marriott International, Inc. today announced landmark dual milestones for The Fern Hotels & Resorts, Series by Marriott in India – 75 hotels have now been signed under the brand’s founding collaboration with Concept Hospitality Private Limited (CHPL), while 50 of those properties are already open and welcoming guests – bringing over 3,556 rooms into Marriott’s portfolio in India. Accomplished in under six months since the brand’s debut in November 2025, this pace of growth stands as one of the most compelling chapters in Marriott’s regional expansion story and firmly establishes India as the defining foundation for Series by Marriott’s global growth.

“When we launched Series by Marriott in India last November, we spoke of a brand designed to scale with both speed and purpose,” said Kiran Andicot, Senior Vice President, South Asia, Marriott International. “Reaching 75 signings, with 50 open and operating hotels across the country, in under six months is a validation of that vision. India is not simply a launchpad for this brand; it is proof of concept. As we expand our footprint, we remain focused on delivering consistent, quality experiences for guests, while offering owners an efficient, conversion-friendly model, backed by the strength of Marriott Bonvoy and our distribution ecosystem.”

With the founding deal for Series by Marriott’s global debut, Concept Hospitality and The Fern Hotels & Resorts brought to the table a distinctive combination of regional authenticity, and a commitment to sustainable hospitality, spanning the breadth of the subcontinent. Together, the resulting Series by Marriott portfolio now spans 43 cities in India across Tier 1, 2 and 3 markets, reflecting both depth of presence and strong geographic balance across the country.

“Reaching 75 signed hotels is a milestone we are genuinely proud of, but the more meaningful story is the hotels that are already open – already welcoming guests, earning loyalty, and delivering on the promise we made when this association began,” said Suhail Kannampilly, Managing Director, Concept Hospitality. “The alignment between The Fern’s heritage of thoughtful, regionally rooted hospitality and Marriott International’s global standards and distribution has resonated powerfully with owners and travelers alike. Between our commitment to sustainable hospitality, the industry’s growing appetite for quality development, and Marriott’s unmatched systems and loyalty reach, we are tracking well ahead of our plans - and we are only just beginning.”

Series by Marriott is a regionally created, globally connected collection brand that brings together locally recognized hotel groups under the trusted umbrella of Marriott Bonvoy. Designed for the ‘global domestic’ traveler – guests who seek the comfort and reliability of a world-class brand alongside genuine, place-specific experiences – the brand is defined by the well-executed fundamentals that matter most: comfortable rooms, reliable service, dependable Wi-Fi, and a sense of arrival that feels unmistakably local.

Each property tells its own story, shaped by the character of the region and the people it serves. From a heritage hotel in Rajasthan to a business hotel in a thriving Tier 2 city, every Series by Marriott hotel delivers the consistent quality guests trust while celebrating the distinctive spirit of its destination. Select properties also offer access to breakfast, fitness centers, and meetings and events spaces - making the brand equally suited to the leisure explorer and the discerning business traveler.

The brand now holds a presence in key cities, tier two markets as well as popular resort destinations with openings such as The Fern Mumbai, Goregaon, Series by Marriott; The Fern Jaipur, Series by Marriott; The Fern Habitat Goa, Candolim, Series by Marriott; Rakabi The Fern Igatpuri, Series by Marriott and The Fern Residency Bengaluru, Seshadripuram, Series by Marriott, to name a few.

Guests at The Fern Hotels & Resorts, Series by Marriott can expect a thoughtfully curated set of signature experiences, including:

  • Grab & Go Breakfast - a packed breakfast box available for guests with early-morning departures, ensuring every journey begins with energy and ease.

  • Single Lady Traveller Recognition - a curated suite of amenities placed in-room prior to arrival, designed to make solo female guests feel seen, safe, and specially welcomed.

  • Evening Delight - a turndown service featuring local chocolates or regional treats alongside a personalized goodnight message.

  • Lamp Lighting Ceremony - a tranquil dusk ritual that honors the rhythm of nature and invites guests to pause, breathe, and unwind.

  • Healthy Sleep - soaked almonds and raisins with cumin-infused water placed bedside each evening, a nod to ancient Indian wellness traditions.

All properties under The Fern Hotels & Resorts, Series by Marriott, participate in Marriott Bonvoy®, the award-winning travel program from Marriott International – allowing members to earn points for their stay at the hotels, and at other hotels and resorts across Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio of extraordinary hotel brands. With the Marriott Bonvoy app, members enjoy a level of personalization and a contactless experience that allows them to travel with peace of mind.

Marriott Bonvoy Boutiques Debuts Design Shop, A New Era of Hotel-Inspired Living

Hotels have become cultural markers, shaping how people want to live, not just travel. Marriott Bonvoy Boutiques brings this shift to life with the launch of Design Shop. The inaugural hotel collections are anchored by W Hotels and Westin Hotels & Resorts, with new destination-themed and brand-led collections to come later in 2026.

“Hospitality doesn’t end at check-out anymore. Design Shop reflects how we’re expanding the role of our hotels and destinations from places you stay to sources of inspiration you choose to live with. Marriott Bonvoy is shaping what modern hospitality looks like from hotel to home,” said Peggy Roe, Executive Vice President and Chief Customer Officer, Marriott International.

W Hotels Living

W Hotels Living debuts with a collection created in collaboration with the architecture and design studio Rockwell Group, inspired by the brand’s newly transformed global flagship, W New York – Union Square, which the studio also redesigned. Drawing from the property’s bold reimagination, the collection reflects a defining expression of the brand’s detail-driven design evolution and draws on the hotel’s rich textures, tones, and energy to bring its distinctly modern spirit into the home. Key pieces include a custom headboard and platform bed in four colorways, an upholstered modern bench, dual-finish nightstands, and a bold floral rug, complemented by sculptural lighting, stylish art, and decorative accents such as glass vases, trays and bookends, that reflect the brand’s signature color-blocking approach, and layered, design-led aesthetic.

Westin Hotels & Resorts Living

As hospitality’s global leader in wellness for more than a decade, Westin Hotels & Resorts Living extends the brand’s long-standing commitment to well-being beyond the stay, offering a thoughtfully designed collection that helps guests create a restorative environment at home. Rooted in Westin’s focus on sleep and restoration, the collection features calming, neutral palettes, natural materials, and timeless silhouettes. Key pieces include an upholstered headboard, minimalist wood nightstands, several earth-inspired rugs, textured and patterned throw pillows, and decorative pieces from catchalls and trays to vases. Designed to complement Westin’s existing Sleep Well essentials from Marriott Bonvoy Boutiques, the collection comes together as a fully layered sleep environment that supports rest and relaxation.

Expanding beyond hotel-inspired collections, Design Shop will also introduce destination-driven drops, beginning in June 2026 with a collection inspired by the French Riviera. Designed for entertaining and everyday living, the assortment will include serving trays, platters, linens, vases, and wine goblets that reflect the region’s relaxed, coastal style. In the fall, JW Marriott Living will debut inspired by the JW Marriott Hotel Tokyo, further extending the series of brand-inspired collections.
