Zoomcar and Uber partner to give travelers more ways to plan road trips

Now compare self-drive and chauffeur-driven Intercity options within the Zoomcar app

Bengaluru, August, 2026: Zoomcar (OTCQB: ZCAR), India's leading peer-to-peer car-sharing platform, and Uber (NYSE: UBER), India's most-loved ride-hailing app, have joined hands to make planning road trips easier and simpler. Now, travelers searching for a self-drive vehicle on the Zoomcar app will also be able to discover and book Uber Intercity rides in case they prefer to get chauffeur-driven cars. The partnership will give Zoomcar app users the choice to pick a self-drive option or take a back seat with an Uber Intercity driver at the wheel - comparing the options at one place and choosing what suits them best for their travel needs.

The collaboration brings together two complementary travel options on select routes for one-way or round trips. The integration delivers a richer mobility experience for a growing segment of Indian travelers who value flexibility, premium experiences and access over ownership. The partnership has gone live in Bengaluru, Delhi NCR and Mumbai, with plans to expand to more cities over time.

Deepankar Tiwari, Chief Executive Officer, Zoomcar Holdings, Inc., said: “Zoomcar is where India’s most intentional travelers come to plan how they move. Some of them want the freedom of a self-drive car. Others, on other days or other trips, want the comfort of being driven. Both needs are valid, and both deserve a world-class experience. By partnering with Uber, we’re making sure that when a Zoomcar user faces that choice, they don’t have to leave our platform to find the answer. That’s what serving the traveler fully looks like.”

Rishant Ghosh, Director of Consumer & Growth, Uber India & South Asia, said: "Uber Intercity has increasingly become the preferred choice for travel across cities, with demand growing across Tier-2 and metro markets alike. We're also seeing more Indians choose road trips for weekend getaways, family visits and holidays. Through this partnership with Zoomcar, we're making Uber Intercity accessible to even more travelers, giving them another convenient way to book reliable, comfortable outstation rides."

The   Consumer   at   the   Heart   of   It:   Access   Over   Ownership Both Zoomcar and Uber reflect a broader shift in how Indians think about mobility. Increasingly, consumers are choosing access over ownership, opting for flexible, on-demand transportation instead of owning a vehicle. For some journeys, that means the freedom of driving themselves through Zoomcar. For others, it means the convenience of sitting back in an Uber Intercity ride. This partnership brings both choices together, allowing travelers to compare self-drive and chauffeur-driven options in one place and choose what best suits each trip.

The same traveler may choose to drive on one journey and be driven on the next. By bringing both experiences together, Zoomcar and Uber are making it easier to choose the right option for every journey, while serving a growing segment of travel enthusiasts looking for greater flexibility, convenience and choice.

Cygnett Hotels & Resorts Signs 50-Key Cozzet Khatu Shyam, Strengthens Rajasthan Portfolio

New hotel at Ringas to tap growing pilgrimage and regional travel demand along the Jaipur-Khatu Shyam corridor

New Delhi, August , 2026: Cygnett Hotels & Resorts has announced the signing of a 50-key Cozzet hotel at Ringas, near Khatu Shyam in Rajasthan, strengthening the hospitality company’s presence in the state while expanding its premium economy portfolio across high-growth pilgrimage and regional travel markets.

The signing comes as Khatu Shyam emerges as one of Rajasthan’s largest pilgrimage destinations. In 2025, the shrine recorded an annual footfall of approximately 2.54 crore devotees, leading the state’s religious tourism rankings. The scale of visitor movement is creating a growing requirement for organised accommodation and supporting hospitality infrastructure across the Khatu Shyam-Ringas corridor.

Located approximately 18 km from the Khatu Shyam Ji Temple, the upcoming hotel will be positioned to serve pilgrims, families, leisure guests and transit travellers. Its location, just 100 metres from Ringas railway station and directly accessible from NH-52 connecting the region with Jaipur, will provide convenient road and rail connectivity for travellers. Being a brownfield project Cozzet Khatushyam is expected to open its doors for the guest in mid of 2027.

The property will feature 50 contemporary rooms, an all-day dining restaurant, health club and swimming pool. It will also cater to the region’s social and events market with a 2,500 sq. ft. banquet venue capable of accommodating approximately 180-200 guests.

Commenting on the signing, Sarbendra Sarkar, Founder & Managing Director, Cygnett Hotels & Resorts, said, “Pilgrimage travel is increasingly becoming an important driver of hospitality demand across India. Destinations receiving millions of visitors annually require not just additional room inventory, but dependable branded accommodation with consistent service standards. Khatu Shyam is a strong example of this transition. With its proximity to the shrine and excellent road and rail connectivity, Ringas presents a compelling opportunity for Cozzet to serve this rapidly growing travel corridor.”

Cozzet by Cygnett is the flagship premium economy and micro-hospitality brand of Cygnett Hotels & Resorts. Built around its “Smart, Safe & Sensible” philosophy, the brand combines contemporary accommodation, essential amenities and efficient service for business, leisure and transit travellers.

The signing also advances Cygnett’s wider expansion strategy for Cozzet at a time when India’s micro and mid-scale hospitality market is projected to reach US$7.60 billion by 2031. The brand currently has a development pipeline of approximately 600 keys, with hotels under development and in pre-opening stages across Noida, Ayodhya, Amritsar, Jaipur and Arunachal Pradesh, among other locations.

Through an asset-light and scalable expansion model, Cygnett plans to grow Cozzet across pilgrimage centres, transit hubs, business markets and emerging urban destinations where demand for reliable, value-led branded hospitality is increasing.

Artists-in-Residence Programme at Abode Bombay & Abode Jaipur

Abode Boutique Hotels, known for its design, presents the second edition of its Artists in Residence programme, hosted in collaboration with For Art and Culture in India (FAACII). The first edition was with Michal Raz in 2022, who spent two weeks at Abode Bombay.

This season brings two painters into residence across Abode Bombay and Abode Jaipur, where they will live, work and respond to their surroundings, developing new artwork over the course of their stay.

The two properties offer distinct environments in which the artists will work. Abode Bombay in Colaba is shaped by the lively, cosmopolitan energy of the city, a contemporary space that draws on Bombay’s layered, ever-shifting character.

Abode Jaipur, by contrast, is rooted in heritage, built on the philosophy of ‘nothing new, everything local’, where local stone, reclaimed wood and hand-finished lime plaster are worked by Rajasthani artisans into a space that is quietly contemporary yet deeply of its place.

Design has always been Abode’s guiding pillar, though it speaks in a different voice at each address.

Mary Pye

Mary Pye is a London-based painter, born in Manchester in 2001 and a graduate of the Slade School of Fine Art (BA Fine Art, 2021–2025). Her practice is slow and meditative, built through layers of pigment laid down, shifted, withdrawn and allowed to settle. She has exhibited in London, Mumbai and New Delhi, including at Bvlgari x MeSo Ventures in Mayfair and Between Worlds at The HiLight London. Her work is held in the collection of the AdP Museum of Contemporary Art in Ahmedabad.

During her residency across Mumbai and Jaipur, Pye's intent is not to depict either city literally but to let their visual rhythms, textures and traditions enter her imagination unconsciously, responding to her experience of living within them, and allowing that experience to shape her evolving painterly language. She hopes that instead of seeing literal streets, people will feel the emotional and spiritual weight of the real presences of Mumbai and Jaipur in her works.

Parnika Mittal

Parnika Mittal is an Indian artist whose practice explores memory, identity and belonging through vibrant colour, layered compositions and fragmented, faceless figures. Having lived across cities and countries, she treats home as fluid - an emotion rather than a fixed location. She has previously undertaken a residency in Norfolk, England.

During her time at Abode Bombay and Abode Jaipur, Mittal intends to continue developing her ongoing body of work. Belonging, drawing on the cities' distinct energies - Bombay's contemporary pulse and Jaipur's heritage and craftsmanship and to explore how place, people and shared experience quietly shape memory and identity. Through this process, she hopes to honour the places, people and moments she encounters, allowing them to become part of her evolving painterly language.

The Abode Artists in Residence Programme will take place at Abode Bombay from 21 August to 14 September, followed by Abode Jaipur from 15 to 27 September.

World Conservation Day at Four Seasons Resorts Maldives

The Maldives is defined by its extraordinary natural beauty, from vibrant coral reefs and crystal-clear lagoons to sea turtles, manta rays and an abundance of marine life. At Four Seasons Resorts Maldives, protecting this environment is more than a responsibility; it is an integral part of the guest experience. Conservation and sustainability are woven into everyday life across Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Landaa Giraavaru and Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa, offering guests the opportunity to experience the islands while gaining a deeper appreciation for the ecosystems that make them so unique.

The resorts' long-standing commitment to conservation is reflected in a number of important milestones. For 15 years, the Sea Turtle Conservation Programme has rescued and rehabilitated injured sea turtles, caring for more than 500 turtles to date. In partnership with Reefscapers, Four Seasons Resorts Maldives has also planted its 9,000th coral frame, contributing to the ongoing restoration of the surrounding reefs.

Among the programme's most remarkable initiatives is Flying Turtles, which provides permanent homes in accredited aquariums around the world for turtles whose injuries prevent them from ever returning to the wild. Others, particularly Olive Ridley turtles, are carefully rehabilitated and released back into the ocean. One of the programme's most heartwarming success stories is Peggy, whose recovery and return to the sea stands as a testament to what dedicated conservation efforts can achieve.

The commitment to protecting the Maldives extends beyond turtles and coral reefs. Four Seasons Resorts Maldives works closely with the Maldives Manta Conservation Programme, in partnership with Manta Trust, supporting one of the world's longest-running manta ray research initiatives. The programme was founded by former Four Seasons marine biologist Guy Stevens and continues to play an important role in advancing research and protecting manta ray populations across the Maldives.

Sustainability is equally embedded in the way the resorts operate. From an on-site water bottling plant that helps reduce single-use plastics to locally grown produce used across the restaurants, thoughtful environmental practices are part of daily life. Beyond environmental stewardship, Four Seasons Resorts Maldives has completed 25 years investing in the local community through its Apprenticeship Programme, equipping young Maldivians with the skills to build successful careers in luxury hospitality and creating meaningful employment opportunities for future generations.

This World Conservation Day, Four Seasons Resorts Maldives celebrates not only the milestones achieved, but the people, partnerships and shared commitment that continue to protect one of the world's most extraordinary destinations. Every coral frame planted, every turtle rescued and every future hospitality professional trained reflects a belief that caring for the Maldives today is the best way to preserve it for tomorrow.

Ajay’s Café Solds 50,000+ Burgers & Cold Coffees on Friendship Day

·       Cold coffee sales increased by 89% to 16,834 cups, while burger sales rose by nearly 54% to 33,472 units compared with the previous day.

·       Ahmedabad, Surat & Vadodara together contributed nearly 60% of Ajay’s total Friendship Day sales across burgers & cold coffees, making these 3 cities the largest contributors to the occasion-led surge.

Ahmedabad,  August 2026: The demand for both cold coffee and burgers rose sharply across Ajay’s Café network on Friendship Day. Cold coffee sales increased by 89% to 16,834 cups, while burger sales rose by nearly 54% to 33,472 units compared with the previous day.

The momentum was particularly strong across Gujarat’s key urban markets. Ahmedabad, Surat and Vadodara together contributed nearly 60% of Ajay’s total Friendship Day sales across burgers and cold coffees, making these three cities the largest contributors to the occasion-led surge.

The Friendship Day response represents a significant consumption moment for Ajay’s, with both its signature food and beverage categories witnessing a sharp increase simultaneously. Burgers and cold coffee have been integral to Ajay’s offering since its early journey and have increasingly become part of the everyday rituals around catching up with friends, spending time together and celebrating occasions.

Rather than positioning café visits only as an eating-out occasion, the brand has created an accessible environment where consumers can meet, spend time together and turn everyday interactions into moments of celebration.

Jaideep Solanki, Director, Ajay's Good Food Pvt. Ltd., said “We have seen the cold coffee category evolve significantly in Gujarat, and Ajay’s has been a trendsetter in building and popularising the cold coffee culture, particularly across South Gujarat. What started as a signature café offering has today become a widely consumed beverage, with consumers associating cold coffee as much with everyday catch-ups and social occasions as with cafés. The Friendship Day numbers are a strong testimony to how deeply this consumption habit has taken root- selling more than 16,000 cold coffees in a single day demonstrates the scale of the occasion-led demand. For us, this is also what the ‘Happy Wali Feeling’ represents, creating familiar products and accessible café experiences that naturally become part of how people come together.”

The Friendship Day performance adds another strong consumption milestone to Ajay’s journey. More importantly, the response reinforces the brand’s role in creating simple, accessible moments of togetherness – one burger, one cold coffee and one “Happy Wali Feeling” at a time. Also, since 2014, Ajay's Cafe has crossed the milestone of serving 4.36 crore burgers and 3.02 crore cold coffees since inception.

A six‑metre tapestry by Saudi artist Abdulnasser Gharem anchors the space, complemented by sculptural elements and floor‑to‑ceiling curtains that reference the early stages of the weaving process. Guestrooms feature a palette of green, ruby, gold, and bronze accents, geometric textiles, and English and Arabic typography wall art by Saudi artist Abdulnasser Gharem. The 390‑square‑metre W Penthouse includes two bedrooms, separate living and dining areas, a kitchenette, an office, and a gym area with steam and sauna facilities. A floor‑to‑ceiling installation of wooden and illuminated spheres references Subha, traditional prayer beads associated with reflection and mindfulness.

Sira features a Latin American–inspired menu prepared in an open kitchen, with dishes cooked over an open fire. The restaurant includes a central bar serving crafted mocktails.
