Taj Mahal, New Delhi leads the conversation on Modern Indian Weddings with WeddingSutra Engage

~ Hosts an exclusive dialogue with industry leaders on the evolving language of luxury weddings in India

R to L: Dr. Anmol Ahluwalia, Area Director-Operations and General Manager, Taj Mahal, New Delhi; Ms. Anju Modi, Couturier; Ms. Vandana Mohan, Founder of The Wedding Design Company; Ms. Shilpa Sharma, Founder of Breakaway; Mr. Parthip Thyagarajan, Co-Founder and CEO of WeddingSutra

New Delhi, 25th June 2026: Reinforcing its position as the Capital’s iconic destination for landmark celebrations, Taj Mahal, New Delhi, brought together leading voices from India’s wedding ecosystem in an exclusive dialogue in association with WeddingSutra Engage. Drawing on perspectives from hospitality, fashion, wedding design and travel, the evening centred on the evolution of modern weddings, confluence of cultures and the personalisation of experiences.

Held at Longchamp and anchored in the philosophy of Timeless Weddings, the panel featured Dr. Anmol Ahluwalia, Area Director-Operations and General Manager, Taj Mahal, New Delhi; Vandana Mohan, Founder of The Wedding Design Company; couturier Anju Modi; Shilpa Sharma, Founder of Breakaway; and was moderated by Parthip Thyagarajan, Co-Founder and CEO of WeddingSutra.

The conversation centred on three key shifts shaping luxury weddings in India – personalisation over scale, culinary experience as part of the celebration itself and, legacy as a marker of timelessness. The discussion highlighted Delhi’s growing prominence in the wedding landscape, shaped by its cultural richness, architectural heritage and ability to offer distinctive experiences for both hosts and guests.

Dr. Anmol Ahluwalia, Area Director - Operations & General Manager, Taj Mahal, New Delhi said, The most memorable weddings are remembered not only for their grandeur, but for the emotions they evoke and the moments they create – with Trust, Awareness and Joy. At Taj Mahal, New Delhi, we believe timeless luxury lies in this balance of elegance, warmth and personal meaning. Our advantage has always been the range we can offer within one address, from grand ballrooms to intimate lawns and storied restaurants, elevated by bespoke services. Through Timeless Weddings by Taj, our endeavour is to craft celebrations that reflect the individuality of each couple while embodying the warmth, intuition and legacy of Taj hospitality.”

Adding a unique and immersive touch to the evening, guests were invited to a ‘Kitchen Party’—an afternoon tea curation offering a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the hotel’s culinary world, pairing Indian bites with classic English tea traditions. Set amidst stunning views, the experience featured a live showcase of the hotel’s signature restaurants. House of Ming presented classics including Golden Fried Prawns, Tofu Pancake, Edamame and Cheese Dim Sum, and Mapo Tofu with Jasmine Rice. Varq showcased regional and seasonal favourites such as Panchdhaan Khichda, Varqui Khumb, Guntoor Chikki Paneer with Set Dosa, and Safeeda Gosht Biryani. Rick’s complemented the experience with its signature bar, serving a selection of craft cocktails and mocktails. The experience concluded with an indulgent dessert trolley and chocolate cart, featuring creations such as Quinoa and Orange Kheer, Rasgulla with Coffee Tiramisu, and artisanal chocolate selections.

For close to five decades, the hotel has played host to Timeless Weddings as a custodian of celebrations, creating experiences that feel both grand in scale and personal in spirit. Set in the heart of Lutyens’ Delhi, the re-imagined Taj Mahal, New Delhi uniquely combines its historical grandeur with modern luxury through elegant banquets, landscaped lawns, terrace garden and versatile event spaces, complemented by award-winning culinary experiences, luxury suites, bespoke services, wellness offerings through J Wellness Circle and the hallmark warmth of Taj hospitality.

Nara Thai Introduces Taste of Thai, Bringing the Art of the Thai Lunch to Gurugram

Nara Thai introduces Taste of Thai, a new weekday lunch format launching on 29 June, built around the five-course rhythm of a traditional Thai meal and designed for guests looking to enjoy a thoughtful midday dining experience. Available Monday to Friday from 12:00 PM to 3:30 PM and priced at ₹1,250++, the experience moves through soup or salad, small eats, a main course, a staple and dessert, accompanied by a beverage, with every course offering a choice so the meal feels personal rather than fixed. It is less a set menu than a considered introduction to what Nara does best, condensed into a format that balances convenience with the pleasure of a complete Thai meal.

The menu draws on dishes that have come to define the Nara experience, including Tom Yum Soup, Tom Kha Soup, Raw Papaya Salad, Larb Gai, Crispy Betel Leaves with Chilli Lime Dip, Chicken Satay, Thai Red Curry, Thai Green Curry, Phad Thai Noodles and Tub Tim Grob. A number of dishes have also been introduced based on guest preferences and menu performance at Nara Thai’s Gurugram outlet, helping create a broader and more representative expression of the restaurant’s offering. Sweet, sour, salty and spicy notes are layered deliberately across courses, so that a meal enjoyed over lunch still carries the depth, balance and authenticity of a much longer dining experience.

Rather than separating vegetarian and non-vegetarian diners into different menus, Taste of Thai now brings both together in a single format, allowing guests to choose between vegetarian and non-vegetarian preparations across multiple courses. The result is a more flexible dining experience that accommodates different preferences at the same table while retaining the structure and progression of a traditional Thai meal.

Weekday lunch has evolved into something more than a functional pause in the day. It can be a catch-up with friends, a client meeting, a working lunch, a leisurely meal between commitments or simply an opportunity to explore Thai cuisine during the day. Taste of Thai has been shaped around that shift, offering a structured, multi-course experience that feels equally suited to occasions both professional and personal.

Most lunch menus are built for speed first and everything else second, but Taste of Thai takes a more balanced approach, bringing together convenience, flavour and craftsmanship. Guests move through fresh salads, comforting soups, signature small eats, aromatic curries and rice or noodle staples, choosing their own path through each course so the experience feels curated rather than prescribed.

The menu concludes with dessert and a choice of beverage, with guests also having the option to upgrade to a cocktail for an additional ₹250++. It reflects Nara Thai’s belief that great Thai food rests on balance and hospitality, thoughtfully adapted for the rhythm of a weekday afternoon.

Taste of Thai first found its footing in Mumbai, and its arrival in Gurugram marks the next step in that journey, building on a reception that has given Nara Thai confidence to continue refining the format. Available every Monday to Friday from 12:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Nara Thai, Taste of Thai invites diners to pause, savour and experience the flavours of Thailand through a complete five-course lunch designed for the middle of the day.

Novotel Hyderabad Convention Centre & HICC Celebrates World Ocean Day with Conscious Dining and Sustainable Creativity as Part of Its Partnership with WWF

Hyderabad, June 2026: Novotel Hyderabad Convention Centre & Hyderabad International Convention Centre marked World Ocean Day 2026 with a series of meaningful sustainability-led experiences that brought together conscious dining, creativity, and community engagement. As part of Novotel’s global partnership with WWF, the hotel hosted a special World Ocean Day Brunch on 7th June at Food Exchange, followed by a hands-on sustainable workshop, ‘Upcycle for the Ocean’ on 13th June, reinforcing its commitment to ocean preservation, mindful consumption, and environmental awareness.

Rooted in Novotel’s global ocean protection commitment with WWF, the initiatives reflected the brand’s focus on driving positive impact through responsible hospitality. Through this partnership, Novotel continues to champion greater awareness around ocean conservation, sustainable choices, and community-led action, encouraging guests to engage with environmental responsibility in ways that feel accessible, thoughtful, and impactful.

The celebrations began with the World Ocean Day Brunch at Food Exchange, which offered guests a refined afternoon of coastal flavours and elegant indulgence. Thoughtfully curated to honour the bounty and beauty of the ocean, the brunch featured a distinctive selection of seafood delicacies, refreshing seasonal creations, and themed desserts. Guests enjoyed signature preparations including Lobster Bisque, Ocean Fish and Risotto Croquettes with Seaweed Aioli, Classic Tuna Nicoise, Crab and Avocado Steak, and Kalamari and Citrus Salad. The main course continued the ocean-inspired experience with highlights such as Seafood Paella, Steamed Seabass with Ginger and Scallion, and Aquapyaza Fish, while desserts like Ocean Blue Coconut Panna Cotta, Sea Breeze Tres Leches, and Pearl of the Ocean brought the brunch to a memorable close. The brunch was hosted on 7th June from 12:30 PM to 4:00 PM, with packages priced at INR 2,999 without alcohol and INR 4,499 with alcohol.

Continuing the World Ocean Day programming, the hotel hosted ‘Upcycle for the Ocean’ on 13th June, a creative sustainability workshop designed to encourage both children and adults to reimagine discarded plastic bottles into useful and artistic objects. Participants transformed everyday plastic waste into planters, bird feeders, lanterns, pen stands, and bracelets, turning a simple hands-on activity into a larger conversation around plastic reduction and marine protection. The workshop was conducted in collaboration with The Creative Social, a community focused on wellness-centred experiences.

The session blended creativity with environmental awareness, encouraging participants to look at plastic differently and understand the value of mindful reuse. With paints, brushes, wires, and discarded bottles placed across the workshop tables, the experience created an engaging platform for families, children, and the local community to pause, participate, and reflect on how small everyday choices can contribute to a more sustainable future.

Speaking on the initiative, Rubin Cherian, General Manager, Novotel Hyderabad Convention Centre & HICC, said, “At Novotel Hyderabad Convention Centre & HICC, sustainability is not limited to operations; it is part of how we engage with our guests, teams, and community. Our World Ocean Day initiatives were designed to make sustainability approachable, participative, and meaningful. Through Novotel’s partnership with WWF, we are proud to support a larger global commitment towards ocean conservation while inspiring small, everyday actions that can collectively create lasting impact.”

Together, the World Ocean Day Brunch and the Upcycle for the Ocean workshop reflected Novotel Hyderabad Convention Centre & HICC’s continued focus on sustainable hospitality, conscious culinary experiences, and community engagement. By combining responsible dining with interactive awareness-led programming, the hotel reaffirmed its commitment to creating experiences that not only bring people together but also encourage positive choices for the planet.

Cleartrip Launches ‘Creators Club’ to Turn Travel Inspiration into a Commerce Flywheel

~ Target to onboard 10,000+ creators by the end of 2026 ~
~ Open for all with ‘No Minimum Follower Threshold & No Pay-Per-Post’ ~
~ Pilot programme reveals Regional creators lead the way with Telugu content among the fastest growing ~

New Delhi, June , 2026: Cleartrip, a Flipkart company and one of India’s fastest-growing online travel platforms, has announced the launch of Cleartrip Creators Club, a structured affiliate programme that integrates creator content directly into the booking journey, turning influence into a measurable, monetisable commerce channel.

The Cleartrip Creators Club moves away from the traditional pay-per-content model, embedding creators directly into the booking journey through a performance-based commission structure, making them partners in revenue, not just amplifiers of it.

With no minimum follower threshold and eligibility determined by engagement rather than audience size, the programme is open to creators across all tiers and categories. By design, the wider the creator base, the stronger the programme gets.

Travel decisions in India are no longer made at the search bar. Social media has quietly become the most powerful distribution channel in travel, particularly for Gen Z and millennials who turn to creators for everything from destination ideas to booking decisions.

Cleartrip's PeekABoo trends tracker signals that this shift is no longer limited to metros; Tier-2 markets are increasingly active in leisure travel, and creators are a primary driver of that intent.

Pallavi Saxena, Chief Marketing & Revenue Officer, Cleartrip, said, “Gen Z has fundamentally changed how travel decisions are made. The intent and inspiration for a trip now begins on a social feed, and creators are at the centre of that shift. India's next wave of travel growth will come from markets and audiences where creators hold more influence than any traditional channel. The launch of Cleartrip Creators Club gives them the infrastructure to turn every post into an income stream, and every booking into more inspiration. That flywheel is what we're building.”

A key friction-removal feature is Comment-to-DM automation: when a viewer comments "TRIP" on a creator's post, they automatically receive a pre-filled booking link and an exclusive Cleartrip coupon code in their DMs. The programme is live pan-India on Instagram and YouTube.

The programme's early results have been encouraging. Regional creators have accounted for 50% of total content pieces generated, reflecting strong localised reach across geographies.

Cross-category traction has also exceeded expectations, with Beauty and Lifestyle, Food, and Deal Hack content consistently delivering engagement rates of 5% to 6%, well above industry benchmarks.

The programme has also seen strong creator participation from southern states, with Telugu-language content in particular emerging as one of the more active and fast-growing segments.

MAB and SIA are also working towards the progressive introduction of additional customer benefits, including reciprocal lounge access, coordinated flight schedules, and joint corporate travel arrangements. Since signing their commercial cooperation framework agreement in October 2019, MAB and SIA have progressively expanded their collaboration, offering customers greater connectivity and more travel options. The airlines currently codeshare on services across Malaysia, Singapore, Europe, and South Africa.

In addition, both carriers introduced reciprocal accrual and redemption between the Enrich and KrisFlyer frequent flyer programmes in February 2024, allowing members to earn and redeem miles or points on selected flights operated by both carriers.

Hushpitality Rising: Agoda Insights Point to a Growing Appetite for Slower Travel in India

India, June 2026 - Digital travel platform Agoda has recorded a rise in travel interest across a cluster of destinations in India’s Himalayan region, with Dharamshala, Rishikesh and Uttarkashi all witnessing year-on-year growth in accommodation searches. The increase reflects a growing preference among travelers for quieter, slower-paced holidays, with more people seeking peaceful alternatives to crowded tourist destinations, a movement increasingly referred to as ‘hushpitality’.

The preference for slower, quieter escapes is also reflected in Agoda’s 2026 Travel Outlook report, which found that relaxation was the primary motivation for travel among 67% of Indian respondents. Against this backdrop, the growing interest in these destinations points to an evolving mindset where travelers are reassessing what a meaningful holiday looks like. Increasingly, the answer involves distance from urban noise, proximity to nature, and the kind of unhurried pace that crowded tourist hotspots rarely afford.

Dharamshala recorded a 154% year-on-year increase in accommodation searches. This quaint hill town has long attracted travelers drawn to its Tibetan Buddhist culture, meditation centers and scenic forest trails. Rishikesh follows closely, recording a 65% increase in accommodation searches compared to the same period last year. Situated along the banks of the Ganga, this town in Uttarakhand is known for its yoga traditions, wellness retreats and ashram stays. Search interest for both these destinations is led by domestic travelers, alongside inbound interest from the United States, Japan, Singapore, Australia, Thailand, and the UAE among other countries.

Another emerging destination in the state of Uttarakhand is Uttarkashi, which registered a 17% year-on-year increase in accommodation searches. This hill station appeals to travelers looking to travel and plan more deliberately in exchange for a more unmediated experience of mountain terrain. International searches for this destination include South Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, Taiwan, and Nepal among others.

Gaurav Malik, Country Director, Indian Subcontinent & Indian Ocean Islands, Agoda said, “Indian travelers are increasingly looking for holidays that allow them to slow down and disconnect from the pace of everyday urban life. Destinations such as Dharamshala, Rishikesh and Uttarkashi are attracting interest because they offer a different kind of travel experience centered on time, space and simplicity. At Agoda, we aim to make these experiences more accessible by helping travelers find the right stay at the right price.”

Agoda provides access to over 6 million holiday properties across price points and property types, alongside more than 130,000 flight routes and over 300,000 activities that can be booked together in one place. Travelers can explore multiple options across any destination on the Agoda mobile app or visit Agoda.com for more information.

From Dining Tables to Meaningful Connections - The Supper Club Mumbai celebrates one year of building community over food and storytelling

Mumbai, June 2026: A culinary melting pot with a plethora of dining options, Mumbai demands more than just a great menu to immerse food and experience aficionados. Curating experiences that people remember for long defines success. Learning the pulse of Mumbaikars and experience-driven people from around the world in the city, over the past year, The Supper Club Mumbai, founded by culinary entrepreneur Chef Rajshri Gupta, has struck the right chords.  The Supper Club Mumbai has transcended intimate meals into immersive experiences celebrating food, nostalgia, human connection, and culture.

Celebrating its first anniversary, The Supper Club Mumbai underscores that success is not about unveiling a unique dining concept, but serving consumers longing for intimate, authentic, and immersive storytelling.

The Supper Club Mumbai was envisioned as the bridge between food and conversations on India’s cultural diversity that ultimately brings the larger country together. With a year passed, the initiative has hosted innumerable food enthusiasts, creators, and culture seekers with Chef Rajshri’s mindful curation of regional Indian cuisines, seasonal produce, heritage recipes, and the tales behind them.

A key aspect of the platform's journey is to showcase the forgotten culinary heritage, especially those from Karnataka. The Yele Oota experiences present Chef Rajshri’s specially curated regional flavours, age-old serving styles, and cultural significance that cannot be easily found even in leading dining outlets across the city. Every gathering ignites nostalgia and thoughtful conversations on food, diversity, and tradition.

The anniversary also marks an important milestone in Chef Rajshri Gupta’s entrepreneurial journey. A contributor writer for Hospitality Horizon Magazine, she transitioned from food journalism to building a hospitality firm focused entirely on experience-led dining and cultural storytelling."  Her belief that food experiences must be about coming together, spending quality time over immersive cultural conversations, and about traditional education around ingredients eventually led Chef Rajshri to the creation of The Supper Club Mumbai.

Sharing about the journey, Chef Rajshri Gupta said, "When The Supper Club Mumbai was founded, I never envisioned just serving food but to create a space where people could unwind, share their unique experiences, absorb the cultural value, and connect around a table. With a year gone by, I've seen strangers turn into friends, forgotten food traditions driving conversations, and dining experiences evolve into meaningful memories. In the coming times, I look forward to continuing to curate immersive experiences while bringing people closer together through food."

The Supper Club Mumbai’s anniversary is rightly timed with experiential dining picking up pace and a key driving segment in the hospitality sector. Consumers today are increasingly seeking experiences filled with personal engagement and cultural relevance. Looking forward, Chef Rajshri plans to expand the platform's range of regional culinary experiences and collaborate with artisans, storytellers, and cultural practitioners.

Why a new generation of travellers is choosing lifestyle hotels

A new CBRE report highlights how experience-led travel, evolving consumer preferences and Gen Z spending habits are accelerating the growth of lifestyle hotels.

The spending by Indians on experiences – recreational and cultural activities, restaurants, hotels, and travel – is expected to outpace the spending on physical goods between 2025 and 2030, according to a report titled “Gen Z Checks In: The Rise of the Lifestyle Hotel” released by world’s leading real estate services and investment firm CBRE. The expenditure on hotel accommodation is expected to grow even faster, making it one of the most dynamic consumer spending categories in the country.

An analysis of Oxford Economics data by CBRE Research projected that household expenditure by Indians on physical goods is likely to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 9.1% between 2025 and 2030. However, broader experiential spending is forecast to grow at a higher 10.3% CAGR over the same period. The spending on hotel accommodation is expected to grow at an even sharper 10.6% CAGR.

The report noted that the shift towards experiences was fundamentally accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic. Pent-up demand and a desire to make up for lost time have been driving the trend since 2022.

Gen Z driving the shift

The trend is being primarily driven by Generation Z, which currently accounts for the largest demographic bloc across the Asia Pacific region. As Gen Z, born between 1997 and 2012, achieve financial independence, their spending is forecast to expand faster than any other living generation, according to the report.

It added that Gen Z travelers demand striking, curated design environments that double as social media backdrops, personalized service that avoids corporate predictability, and activated communal spaces that host experiences such as wine tastings, acoustic performances, and local cultural events.

Wellness integration is equally non-negotiable, with seamless technology from self-check-in to smart-room automation, now firmly an expectation rather than differentiation.

Emergence of lifestyle hotels

According to CBRE, a new category of property, the lifestyle hotel, has emerged as the industry’s answer to this generational demand. Unlike boutique hotels or global chains, these hotels occupy a middle ground: the design and local character of an independent property, backed by the operational scale, distribution networks, and loyalty programs of an institutional brand.

Between 2015 and 2025, the overall hotel supply across the Asia Pacific region grew at a steady 5% CAGR. However, lifestyle hotels grew at 19% over the same period. Now till 2030, the supply of lifestyle hotels is projected to maintain a 10% CAGR, five times the 2% growth forecast for the broader hotel market.

Moreover, this growth is backed by clear pricing power. The report highlighted that in 2025, upper upscale lifestyle hotels across Asia Pacific commanded a 13% revenue per available room (RevPAR) premium over traditional properties in the same category. Upscale lifestyle brands added a further 7% premium, achieving this despite smaller room sizes by generating stronger food and beverage revenues and running leaner operations.

In India, the penetration of lifestyle hotels remains low as compared to markets like Singapore and Hong Kong. That gap is increasingly being read by developers and investors as an opportunity.

Industry perspectives

“The contemporary consumer no longer just purchases lodging but wants unique, culturally immersive, and digitally shareable environments,” said Anshuman Magazine, Chairman & CEO – India, South-East Asia, Middle East & Africa, CBRE. “This structural shift towards experiential consumption is an enduring macroeconomic trend. For property owners and institutional investors, the lifestyle hotel segment represents a compelling double-win: measurable RevPAR and ADR premiums over standardized assets, and a capital-efficient conversion pathway that maximizes long-term asset value.”

Ada Choi, CFA – Head of Research, Asia Pacific, CBRE, said, “The experience economy is not a trend but a structural reset. The hospitality sector in the APAC region is at an exciting point in this journey. In India specifically, rising incomes, a maturing Gen Z consumer base, and a significant undersupply of lifestyle hospitality product are converging to create one of the most attractive investment environments in the region.”

The investment opportunity

According to CBRE, developers are increasingly turning to existing properties rather than building from scratch, given the rising land costs and construction expenses. Older, independent, unbranded hotels – of which India has a significant stock – are being converted and repositioned as lifestyle properties, often at a fraction of the cost of new development.

The smaller asset transactions are also dominating market liquidity. Assets valued under $100 million grew from 31% of total hotel investment volume across Asia Pacific in 2020 to 42% by 2025, with roughly 30% of traded assets comprising independent hotels ripe for repositioning.

To capitalize on the opportunity, CBRE suggested that developers adopt a market-specific approach, identifying local white spaces, prioritizing design flexibility to preserve future exit optionality, and activating public spaces and food and beverage concepts as community-facing amenities that serve transient guests and local neighborhood demand alike.
