A seasoned engineering and facility management leader, Pillai is widely recognised for his expertise in hotel pre-openings, technical services leadership, preventive and predictive maintenance, sustainability programmes and energy conservation. Over the years, he has been entrusted with leading engineering operations for several flagship hotels under renowned global brands including Marriott, IHG and Accor, across India and the Middle East.

In his current role, Gopakumar Pillai will oversee the complete engineering and technical operations of the hotel’s 277 rooms, four restaurants and 11 event venues spanning over 24,500 sq. ft. His responsibilities include driving operational efficiency through robust maintenance systems, spearheading renovations, strengthening sustainability initiatives, managing statutory compliance and ensuring adherence to Marriott International’s safety and technical standards.

In his new role, Mr. Biradar will oversee all engineering and maintenance functions, with a focus on operational excellence, safety, sustainability, asset protection, and long-term infrastructure planning. Mr. Biradar brings more than 20 years of hands-on experience, having held senior engineering leadership roles with leading international hotel brands. Prior to joining The Westin Hyderabad Mindspace, he served as Director of Engineering at The Westin Pune, following key positions at Novotel Mumbai Juhu Beach, Renaissance Bengaluru Racecourse, and multiple Accor Hotels across India. His international exposure includes multi-property leadership roles in Portugal, Spain, and France with Muthu Hotels, where he managed operations, renovations, and new projects. 

Known for his strong technical expertise and people-focused leadership, Mr. Biradar has deep knowledge of electrical systems, HVAC, chillers, boilers, energy management, and building safety systems. He has successfully led renovation projects, managed complex engineering operations, and supported hotel leadership teams with practical, results-driven solutions. 

A Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mr. Biradar is also certified in occupational health and safety, environmental management, food safety systems, and energy management. His professional journey is marked by multiple industry recognitions, including Chief Engineer of the Year and Best Guest Service Award, reflecting his commitment to quality, innovation, and guest satisfaction.
