ITC Maratha Marks World Sustainability Day with a Continued Commitment to Responsible Luxury

Mumbai, October 2026: On World Sustainability Day, October 26, ITC Maratha, Mumbai, highlights over a decade of integrating sustainability into luxury hospitality. From reusing or recycling over 99% of solid waste to meeting approximately 80% of its energy requirements through renewable sources, the hotel continues to demonstrate how luxury and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand.

Part of ITC Hotels, recognised by the US Green Building Council (USGBC) for having the highest number of LEED Platinum-certified properties in its portfolio, ITC Maratha further strengthens its environmental credentials with the LEED Zero Carbon Certification from USGBC.

Sustainability at the hotel extends across dining, banqueting and everyday operations. Responsible Dining encourages mindful food choices, Alert Meets offers wholesome gourmet fare centred on seasonal produce, while One Bite Wonder features thoughtfully prepared bite-sized creations. Through Green Banquets, the hotel incorporates locally sourced menus and resource-conscious practices into meetings and celebrations.

The hotel also uses 47% less water than the USGBC benchmark for large luxury hotels and harvests rainwater across 100% of its area. Its Sunya Aqua initiative enables drinking water to be purified and bottled in-house, helping reduce transportation-related emissions. An in-house biogas plant converts wet waste into kitchen fuel, diverting approximately one lakh kilograms of organic waste from landfills. Organic Waste Converters further support responsible waste management, while alternatives such as glass bottles, paper straws and bamboo amenities have replaced single-use plastic products.

Extending its commitment to events and celebrations, ITC Maratha offsets event-related carbon emissions through carbon credits at no additional cost to guests.

On World Sustainability Day, ITC Maratha reaffirms its commitment to responsible luxury, demonstrating how thoughtful choices, efficient resource management and measurable environmental action can contribute to a more sustainable future for hospitality.

IDORU Sets the Table for a Mexican Culinary Takeover by COMAL

From COMAL’s Mexican kitchen to Dave Switch’s vinyl selections, The House Guests brings a new flavour to the IDORU experience.

Mumbai, October 2026: What happens when the flavours of a Mexican cantina meet the sound of vinyl? IDORU is bringing the two together as it welcomes Bengaluru-based COMAL for the third edition of their monthly IP, The House Guests - an evening built around good food, music and the pleasure of discovering something new. Taking place on Wednesday, 28th October, from 6 PM onwards, the gathering will feature a special kitchen takeover by COMAL, accompanied by a vinyl set from Dave Switch.

At IDORU, The House Guests is built around the idea of inviting different culinary and creative voices into its space, creating experiences that go beyond the everyday dining occasion. Each edition brings a new perspective to the table, whether through food, music or the people behind them. This time, the spotlight is on COMAL, a Mexican cantina founded by Chef Varun Pereira and Pratheek Reddy with a desire to explore the depth and diversity of Mexican cuisine.

Chef Varun Pereira is bringing COMAL’s distinctive take on Mexican cuisine to Mumbai at Idoru, drawing on his travels through Mexico City to shape a menu centred on honest cooking, house-made masa, slow-cooked meats and vibrant, balanced flavours.

That philosophy comes through in a menu that balances comforting classics with bold, layered flavours. Chilaquiles Poblanos brings together crisp tortilla chips, earthy poblano salsa, crema and Chihuahua cheese, while the Jackfruit Flauta pairs jackfruit barbacoa and pinto beans with fresh salsa Mexicana, cilantro-lime aioli and queso fresco. For a lighter, citrus-led bite, Costa Cítrica features sweet water shrimp with a bright citrus cure, chile de árbol oil and tobiko.

The Tinga combines grilled chicken thigh with smashed baby potatoes, smoky chipotle crema, Cotija cheese and salsa macha, while the CDMX Fried Chicken gets a fiery finish with salsa macha and banana hot sauce. Carne Asada rounds out the plates with beef, mojo de ajo, burnt chile butter and scallion salsa. The tacos continue the interplay of flavours, with Cerdo Asado pairing roasted pork with pineapple-jalapeño salsa, cilantro and crema, while Calabaza offers a vegetarian option of butternut squash, queso fresco, pine nuts and salsa macha.

Complementing the food, Dave Switch will take over the decks with a vinyl set, bringing an analogue touch to the evening. He’s closely connected with Mumbai’s vinyl and DJ circuit and is known for spinning rare 45s and vinyl records.  The combination of COMAL’s vibrant Mexican cooking and a music-led atmosphere sets the tone for a relaxed gathering centred on food, sound and conversation.

From the first plate to the last record, the evening is designed to be enjoyed without a rush. With COMAL’s Mexican flavours and Dave Switch behind the decks, The House Guests offer a reason to gather around the table, discover something new and stay a little longer.

Sterling Opens Bandhavgarh Resort , Bringing Together Tiger Country, Heritage and Culture

New addition strengthens Sterling's Central India wilderness portfolio and creates opportunities for connected journeys across Bandhavgarh and Kanha.

Chennai, October 2026: Sterling Holiday Resorts Limited (SHRL) has announced the opening of Sterling Bandhavgarh in Madhya Pradesh, strengthening its presence across Central India's leading wildlife destinations and adding another distinctive forest experience to its growing wilderness portfolio.

With resorts across 15 celebrated wildlife landscapes of India, Sterling is deliberately building wilderness travel as a distinct leisure category. Bandhavgarh strengthens this strategy by bringing one of India's most recognised tiger destinations into a portfolio designed to offer travellers different forests, different experiences and more reasons to explore.

The opportunity goes beyond the excitement of a tiger sighting. Bandhavgarh combines dense sal forests, open meadows and rich biodiversity with an extraordinary historical landscape. Ancient sculptures, caves, the heritage of Bandhavgarh Fort and the reclining Vishnu at Shesh Shaiya reveal a destination where wilderness and centuries of human history coexist.

For families, this creates a more complete holiday proposition. The anticipation of a safari can be combined with birdwatching, village walks, nature trails, regional cuisine and relaxed time together, allowing travellers of different generations to discover Bandhavgarh in their own way.

Vikram Lalvani, Managing Director & CEO, Sterling Holiday Resorts Limited (SHRL), said: " “India's wilderness destinations are far more diverse than the wildlife they are famous for. Every forest has its own landscape, history, culture and cuisine—and therefore a different story to discover.

Bandhavgarh is particularly compelling because it brings together one of India's celebrated tiger habitats with centuries of heritage and the distinctive culture of Baghelkhand. As Destination Architects, our ambition is to bring these dimensions together so that a safari becomes part of a richer, more memorable holiday for families.

With Sterling's growing presence across wildlife and nature destinations, we also have the opportunity to connect individual forests into compelling journeys, such as Bandhavgarh and Kanha.

We are not simply adding destinations to our wilderness portfolio. We are giving travellers more reasons to discover India's forests—and more reasons to return.

With Bandhavgarh joining our growing presence across Central India, we also see the opportunity to develop richer journeys that connect different wilderness landscapes.

Our ambition is to make wildlife holidays about discovering the forest and everything around it, not just the sighting."

Located in Tala village, approximately 2.5 km from Tala Gate of Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve, Sterling Bandhavgarh offers an intimate retreat with 26 rooms across four distinctive categories - its Machan Suites feature private machans and outdoor showers, while Courtyard Rooms with Balconies offer garden-facing outdoor spaces. Safari Tents with Private Sit-outs bring a sense of adventure to the stay, complemented by comfortable Forest Rooms. A swimming pool, gardens and outdoor relaxation spaces create easy downtime between excursions.

Speaking on the launch Mr. Pranav Sharma, owner of Mahalaxmi Commercial Service Pvt Ltd, said :  “Our association with Sterling at Kanha has given us the confidence to extend this partnership to Bandhavgarh. Sterling brings strong operating expertise, brand reach and an understanding of how to create distinctive destination experiences. We are delighted to build on this successful relationship and bring another compelling wilderness retreat to travellers”

The resort's location provides convenient access to Tala Gate, with opportunities to explore other safari zones such as Magadhi and Khitauli, subject to Forest Department permits and regulations. Birdwatching, village walks, nature trails and cycling offer additional ways to experience the surrounding landscape, while the region's historical and cultural attractions add depth to longer stays.

Baghelkhand's culinary heritage provides another connection to the destination.

At The Sal, regional preparations such as Birra ki Roti, Saal Patta Murgh, Baans Mein Pakaya Chawal and Kumhde ki Kheer draw on traditional cooking methods, local grains and forest-inspired ingredients. Alongside Indian and international favourites, the resort's culinary proposition explores experiences such as the Jungle Thali, showcasing the flavours of Baghelkhand, and Gaon ki Rasoi, inspired by the cooking traditions of local communities. Outdoor dining and bonfire evenings add to the experience of being close to nature.

Bandhavgarh also opens up opportunities for travellers to explore more of Madhya Pradesh's wilderness. With Sterling's presence in Kanha, the two destinations offer the potential for a Bandhavgarh–Kanha forest journey, bringing together distinct habitats, landscapes and wildlife experiences within a single holiday.

With Bandhavgarh joining its growing wilderness network, Sterling is moving beyond individual wildlife stays towards a more connected way of discovering India's forests. From the tiger landscapes of Central India (Madhya Pradesh) to the distinctive wilderness of Rajasthan  , Maharashtra, Uttarakhand  each destination adds a different experience to the portfolio—giving travellers more choice, families more reasons to explore together, and Sterling greater opportunity to build journeys that extend beyond a single safari or destination.

Black Rock Hotels & Resorts Announces Nearly 900-Room Expansion, Enters Hotel Ownership with 241-Key Udaipur Project

Hospitality group targets six upcoming hotel openings, with signed projects in Jim Corbett and Vrindavan marking its expansion beyond Rajasthan

Jaipur, October 2026: Black Rock Hotels & Resorts has unveiled an expansion pipeline of approximately 900 rooms, marking a significant new phase for the Rajasthan-based hospitality company as it moves beyond third-party hotel management into hotel ownership and enters new markets across North India.

The company, which currently operates seven hotels with approximately 950 rooms, is targeting six additional hotel openings through 2027. The expansion includes its first owned hotel in Udaipur, two signed properties in Jim Corbett, Uttarakhand, and a hotel project in Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh. The proposed additions are expected to take Black Rock's total inventory close to 2,000 rooms, subject to development and opening schedules.

The centrepiece of the expansion is Kingsbury, a 241-room hotel under development in Udaipur, which will mark Black Rock's entry into hotel ownership. Located alongside a lake and surrounded by hills, the property is scheduled to commence operations with approximately 160 rooms in March 2027.

The project has been designed with substantial infrastructure for destination weddings, conferences and large social gatherings. Its planned facilities include two ballrooms measuring approximately 4,000 sq. ft. and 14,000 sq. ft., an 11,000 sq. ft. courtyard, a 6,000 sq. ft. pool deck, a 10,000 sq. ft. rooftop event space and three lakeside venues. The property will also have five garden spaces ranging from approximately 10,000 to 50,000 sq. ft.

Beyond Rajasthan, Black Rock has signed two hotels in Jim Corbett, comprising 115 and 135 rooms respectively, with openings indicated for October 2027. The company has also signed a project in Vrindavan, establishing a foothold in Uttar Pradesh.

Commenting on the expansion, Anshul Bhargava, Founder & Chairman, Black Rock Hotels & Resorts, said, “We have built our business around operating hotels where weddings, conferences and leisure contribute substantially to revenue. Our next phase is about taking that experience into new markets while also developing assets of our own. Udaipur will be an important milestone because we have been able to plan the property around the operational requirements of these segments. With a sizeable pipeline ahead, we are moving towards a larger, geographically diversified portfolio while remaining focused on commercial viability and operating performance.”

The expansion also reflects Black Rock's distinctive management approach. Unlike conventional hotel management agreements based primarily on management fees, the company operates through revenue-sharing arrangements, assuming responsibility for staffing, operating expenditure and day-to-day hotel management while providing property owners an agreed share of revenue.

The addition of owned assets will introduce a second growth model alongside these management agreements, allowing Black Rock to participate directly in hotel development while continuing to expand through partnerships with independent property owners.

With the next phase of development underway, Black Rock is positioning itself as a larger hospitality owner-operator with a focus on destination resorts, weddings, MICE and leisure markets

Summit Hotels & Resorts Signs Offbeat Retreat in Samthar, West Bengal

The property, scheduled to open in October-November 2026, will mark Summit’s entry into the relatively unexplored Himalayan destination

Siliguri, 2026: Summit Hotels & Resorts has signed a 24-key property in Samthar, an emerging mountain destination in West Bengal, as the hospitality company continues to deepen its presence across lesser-explored destinations in the Eastern Himalayas. Scheduled to open in October-November 2026, Summit Samthar – The Offbeat Collection will become part of the company’s recently introduced Offbeat portfolio, which focuses on destinations beyond established tourist circuits.

Located approximately 30 km from Siliguri, Samthar is surrounded by forests, tea gardens and Himalayan landscapes. Unlike the region’s more established hill stations, the destination remains relatively underexplored, with potential for nature-led and slow travel, hiking and birdwatching.

The upcoming property will have 24 Kanchenjunga-facing rooms, all with private balconies, along with an in-house restaurant, private lawn, a tea garden, children's play area, common sitting spaces and extensive outdoor areas.

“Samthar represents exactly the kind of destination we believe has considerable potential for the next phase of leisure travel in the region. Our experience in the Eastern Himalayas has shown us that when hospitality reaches a lesser-known destination, its impact goes beyond the hotel itself. It creates local employment, generates demand for transport and other services, and allows us to source produce and everyday requirements from local shops and suppliers. We have seen this around properties such as Summit Bougainvillea Tea Resort in Tindharia, Summit Tashi Ghang Heritage Resort in Pelling and Summit Enigma Resort & Spa in Lamahatta. Our aim in Samthar is to become part of the local economy while introducing more travellers to the destination without taking away the character that makes it worth discovering,” said Sumit Mitruka, Founder & CEO, Summit Hotels & Resorts.

The signing also builds on Summit’s strategy of expanding beyond established tourism centres into smaller destinations across the Eastern Himalayas. The company has identified destination development as a key part of its Offbeat Collection, with hospitality investment expected to support local employment, tourism services and longer visitor stays in these markets.

For Samthar, Summit expects the new property to help introduce the destination to a wider leisure audience while encouraging travellers to extend their North Bengal itineraries into lesser-known parts of the region. The development comes as Summit Hotels & Resorts broadens its portfolio through three distinct propositions, Offbeat, Signature and Mandir, spanning emerging destinations, premium destination hospitality and spiritual tourism respectively.

One Less Thought: Thought Coffee opens in Bandra with quality coffee

Founded by Kush Kachhara, Kshitij Patil and Jhanvi Shah, the Mumbai-born quick-service coffee brand is bringing single-origin AA Arabica coffee, grab-and-go convenience and sub-five-minute service to the everyday coffee run, with plans to build density across Mumbai.

Mumbai, 2026: Mumbai has no shortage of good coffee. But for something that has become such a regular part of urban life, a good cup can still feel like a destination, a decision or a considerable part of the day. Thought Coffee wants to change that.

The Mumbai-born quick-service coffee brand is opening its flagship in Bandra with a simple idea: good coffee should fit into the day, not require the day to be built around it. Founded by Kush Kachhara, Kshitij Patil and Jhanvi Shah, Thought Coffee was born from a gap the founders saw in Mumbai’s rapidly growing coffee culture. While quality coffee is becoming increasingly available across the city, the combination of quality, accessibility and speed is still harder to find in an everyday format.

Thought Coffee is built to bridge that gap, bringing together good-quality coffee, an accessible proposition and a grab-and-go experience designed around the pace of modern city life.

“China showed us how quickly coffee can move from a café experience to an everyday habit. We started asking whether India could be at a similar inflection point,” says Kshitij Patil, Co-founder, Thought Coffee.

Quality coffee, made approachable

Thought Coffee’s everyday coffee offering centres on single-origin AA Arabica beans, sourced from a single estate and roasted to the brand’s own profile to create a balanced, approachable cup. The thinking is straightforward: quality should not make coffee feel intimidating, and convenience should not mean compromising on what is in the cup.

For customers who want to explore beyond the everyday, the menu also features more experimental offerings, including rum barrel-aged and wine barrel-aged coffees, alongside Colombian Castillo coffee. These speciality coffees offer a more distinctive expression of the bean while sitting within a menu designed to remain approachable.

The wider menu extends beyond coffee to flavour-led matchas and ubes, baked goods, croissants, croissant sandwiches and tea cakes, alongside smoothie bowls including Sunrise with passion fruit and Berry Berry with mixed berries.

“Good coffee shouldn’t feel like something you have to compromise on. We wanted to create a format where quality and accessibility could exist together, without making the experience feel complicated,” says Kush Kachhara, Co-founder, Thought Coffee.

One Less Thought

The idea behind Thought Coffee recently evolved into One Less Thought, a simple philosophy for how the brand wants to fit into everyday life. A day is already full of decisions, from what to eat and what to wear to where to go and what to finish first. Where to get your coffee from should not have to be one of them.

One Less Thought is about creating that familiarity: knowing where your coffee is coming from, knowing it will be good and knowing you can get it without having to build time around it. Thought Coffee wants to become the place people can simply default to, not because coffee has to be an occasion, but because it can be one less decision in an already busy day.

“We wanted to create a coffee brand that fits naturally into the rhythm of the day. You should be able to know that you can get a good cup of coffee without having to overthink the experience,” says Jhanvi Shah, Co-founder, Thought Coffee.

Built for the five-minute coffee run

The format is designed around the moments when coffee is needed most: before work, between meetings, on the way somewhere or simply because the day calls for it. Its compact, takeaway-focused format and machine-driven brewing are designed to keep service quick, with orders targeted to be served in under five minutes.

The proposition is deliberately uncomplicated: walk in, order, get your coffee and keep moving.

Thought Coffee plans to spend its first 15 months building density across Mumbai before expanding nationally. Its longer-term ambition is to make a Thought Coffee location accessible within three minutes of its customers, with the format designed to work across neighbourhoods, tech parks, shopping centres and other high-footfall locations.

A coffee brand designed for Mumbai

The Bandra flagship reflects the same philosophy. Glass walls, rattan pendants and terrazzo floors create a space that feels considered without being formal, while the three-dot logo represents a pause, a thought in progress and whatever comes next.

But the ambition extends beyond one café. Thought Coffee is building for a city where coffee is increasingly part of the daily rhythm, and where the opportunity is not simply to get people to drink better coffee once in a while, but to make good coffee an effortless part of every day.

Because sometimes, the best coffee experience is the one you do not have to think about.

When Architecture Becomes Part of the Dining Experience

There is something about dining in an old house that makes you slow down. You notice the high ceilings, pause at a doorway, spend a little longer in the courtyard and, before you know it, the space has become part of the evening. At The Swinton House in Jaipur, that is very much the point. Set within a nearly 150-year-old property, the destination brings together architecture, food, cocktails and nightlife in a way that makes the house as memorable as what happens inside it.

The story goes back to Sir Samuel Swinton Jacob, the British architect whose work shaped much of Jaipur, including the Albert Hall Museum and Rambagh Palace. His influence can still be felt in the way Indian craftsmanship and British design come together across the city. At The Swinton House, those references have been reworked for today rather than simply recreated.

The Yard opens into a generous courtyard filled with natural light and greenery, making it an easy spot for a long lunch or an unhurried evening. Move into The Albion, and the mood changes. The space is more intimate, with marble, traditional mouldings, rich details and statement lighting setting the scene for Pan-Asian food and cocktails.

Designed by Abhigyan Neogi and Kanika Gupta of Chromed Design Studio, the interiors take cues from the traditional Rajasthani mansion while bringing in a distinctly British influence. It feels rooted in Jaipur, but not stuck in the past.

And this is where the architecture starts doing more than simply looking good.

Where you sit can change the mood of the evening. A courtyard invites you to linger. A quieter room makes dinner feel more intimate. A bar encourages you to stay for one more drink. Even walking from one part of the house to another becomes part of the experience.

The food follows the same spirit of bringing different influences together. The Yard focuses on modern international fusion, while The Albion explores Pan-Asian flavours, with cocktails that add another layer to the evening. The menus feel contemporary, but they sit comfortably within a house that carries so much history.

What makes The Swinton House interesting is this meeting of old and new. The heritage hasn't been put behind glass or treated like a museum piece. It is being lived in over lunch, dinner, drinks, music and long conversations that carry on well after the meal is finished.

Because architecture isn't only about how a place looks. Sometimes, it is about how it makes you feel whether you want to stay for another drink, move to a different table or simply take one last look around before leaving.

At The Swinton House, the meal may end at the table, but the experience doesn't quite end there. You take a little bit of the house with you.

KAMARI Opens in Anjuna: Introducing a New Expression of Beachfront Hospitality in North Goa

KAMARI brings together architecture, world cuisine, progressive mixology and cultural programming in a destination that shifts with the rhythm of the coast.

Goa,  2026: North Goa welcomes a distinctive new address with the opening of KAMARI, a beachfront hospitality destination in Anjuna that brings together architecture, gastronomy, mixology, music and design in a setting inspired by the changing rhythm of the Arabian Sea. Conceived as an all-day seaside sanctuary, KAMARI moves effortlessly from sun-soaked afternoons and leisurely dining to sunset gatherings and vibrant evenings, creating an experience that transforms as the day unfolds.

Inspired by the timeless duality of the sun and the moon, KAMARI reflects two contrasting moods. By day, the space is calm, open and restorative, inviting guests to slow down against the backdrop of the sea. As daylight fades, lighting, music and performance reshape the atmosphere, giving the venue an entirely different character while remaining connected to its coastal surroundings.

The property's architecture draws from the movement of the ocean itself. Soft, sculptural curves flow through the entrance, the organically contoured central bar and the sweeping upper deck, framing uninterrupted 180-degree views of the Arabian Sea. Natural materials including weathered wood, linen, rattan and earthy textures reinforce a design language that feels contemporary while remaining deeply rooted in Goa's landscape.

Adding another layer to the visual narrative is KAMARI's bespoke Toile de Jouy artwork, commissioned exclusively for the destination. Reinterpreting the classic textile tradition through a contemporary lens, the intricate illustrations weave together the mythology of the moon, the rhythm of the sea, tropical flora and fauna, and the rituals of coastal living. More than a decorative element, the artwork captures the philosophy that shapes the space, celebrating craftsmanship, storytelling, and a strong sense of place.

KAMARI has been created as a destination where every space offers a different perspective of the coastline. Guests can spend the day on beachfront sunbeds just steps from the Arabian Sea before moving into sea-facing dining spaces or retreating to private cabanas with plunge pools overlooking the water. The experience begins even before arrival, with personalised hospitality that includes dedicated solar-powered golf cart transfers, setting the tone from the very first interaction.

As evening settles in, the venue takes on a new energy. At its centre stands a striking 23-foot Medusa sculpture, brought to life through dynamic lighting, digital storytelling and curated entertainment. The installation anchors the indoor-outdoor lounge, where art, music and hospitality come together to create one of Anjuna's most compelling nightlife settings.

The culinary programme, led by Chef Ram, presents a globally inspired menu built around seasonal produce, bold flavours and dishes made for sharing. Signature offerings include the Millet Tabouleh, Avocado Edamame Toast, Zucchini Burrata Curry, Garlic Butter Lamb Chops, John Dory Fish and Prawn Thermidor, alongside a selection that moves comfortably from relaxed lunches by the beach to celebratory dinners overlooking the sea.

The bar program led by Dikshit Shetty embodies a spirit of exploration by reinterpreting India's rich culinary heritage through innovative techniques. Methods such as clarification, fermentation, infusion, and distillation are employed to create drinks that are deeply rooted in Indian tradition, yet presented with the precision found in leading international cocktail bars. Each drink tells its own story, inviting guests to experience familiar flavors in unexpected and exciting ways. Few signatures include cocktails such as Rasam, inspired by the flavors of Southern India; Aarambh, inspired by the celebration of new beginnings; and Ko-cane, inspired by an addiction that tastes like affection. These cocktails feature indigenous botanicals, regional spices, tropical fruits, and nostalgic flavors.

Alongside its food and beverage programme, KAMARI will host a calendar of curated experiences celebrating music, culture and community. Among its signature offerings is IN WHITE, a weekly Sunday sundowner that transforms the beachfront into an immersive all-white celebration of music, elevated hospitality and sunset rituals. With Curated performances, signature cocktails and world cuisine, each edition offers a fresh expression of Kamari's experiential spirit. From relaxed afternoons by the beach to vibrant late-night celebrations, every visit promises a different experience.

Commenting on the launch, Varun Duggal, Co-Founder & Designated Partner of KAMARI, said: "We're no longer competing for people's appetite. We're competing for the few hours they're willing to give us. If those hours don't become memorable, we've only done half our job. That belief became the foundation of KAMARI. We set out to create more than a beach club, we wanted to craft a place where architecture, hospitality, food, cocktails, music and the natural beauty of the Arabian Sea exist as one complete experience. Our ambition is to build a brand conceived in India that resonates globally, demonstrating that Indian hospitality can stand alongside the world's most celebrated coastal destinations while remaining deeply connected to the spirit of Goa."

Blending thoughtful design with a dynamic culinary and cultural programme, KAMARI marks a new chapter in Goa's hospitality landscape—one where guests are invited to linger, return and experience the destination differently with every visit.

Sweeney Turns Up the Heat on Thai Dining in Mumbai

From Bangkok-style favourites and Thai-inspired sushi to a new weekday Bangkok Lunch Club and cocktails, Sweeney is putting Thai flavours at the heart of its Khar garden.

Sweeney is entering a new chapter, placing Thai food firmly at the centre of its culinary identity. Set within its lush Khar garden, the restaurant is bringing together the flavours people travel to Bangkok for- hot, sour, sweet, spicy and deeply aromatic,  through classics, contemporary interpretations and a playful Sweeney lens. The idea isn’t to recreate a conventional Thai restaurant. It is to capture the energy of eating and drinking in Bangkok and translate it into Sweeney: generous food, cocktails, music, a garden and a table designed for sharing.

Thai small plates open the menu with a selection of dishes designed for sharing, bringing together familiar flavours and Sweeney’s own interpretations. Som Tam with Peanut Crunch, Miang Kham, Thai Chicken Satay, Thai Basil Prawns and Crispy Squid Thai Herbs bring together the fresh, spicy and aromatic notes associated with Thai cooking. Vegetarian options include Cottage Cheese Pad Prik Thai Dam, Tofu Pepper Garlic and Crispy Shiitake Mushroom, while Gai Med Pad Mamuang and Pe Prik Sod add chicken and lamb to the selection.

Thai × Japanese takes a more playful approach, bringing Thai flavours into familiar sushi formats. Green Curry Crab Roll, Som Tam Smoke Salmon Roll and Tom Yam Crispy Prawn Roll bring Thai profiles to the sushi counter, alongside Larb Het Maki Roll and Chilli Tempura Roll. The section reflects Sweeney’s approach to the cuisine, taking familiar flavours and presenting them in unexpected formats.

Curries, wok dishes and grills bring the menu back to more familiar Thai favourites, with the Classic Thai Green Curry, Panang Curry and Hot Basil Chicken Bowl leading the selection. From the grill, Tofu Broccoli Satay, Grilled Cottage Cheese Steak, Lemongrass Grilled Chicken and Chilli Tamarind Salmon offer another expression of the cuisine and continue to shape the flavours across the section.

A key new highlight of the Sweeney experience is the Bangkok Lunch Club, bringing the Bangkok-inspired story into the afternoon with a new weekday offering built around five courses. Designed as a relaxed lunch experience, it brings together a selection of Sweeney’s Thai-led flavours for diners looking to spend an afternoon in Bangkok, without leaving Khar. Five courses. One afternoon in Bangkok.

The Bangkok story continues into Sweeney’s cocktail programme, with cocktails such as Tuk Tuk, Bangkok Breeze, Zen Garden, Victoria’s Bloom and Sweeney-Tini bringing a playful, Bangkok-inspired perspective to the drinks menu. The Great North targets share of £1.5bn Indian tourism market to drive growth across the North

Mumbai, October 2026: The North of England has joined forces under The Great North banner to target a greater share of India’s rapidly growing visitor market, with the ambition of attracting more tourists to discover the North.

VisitBritain’s latest forecast shows India is set to become a £1.5 billion inbound visitor market for the UK by 2030, an increase of 71% from 2026, creating a significant opportunity for Northern destinations and tourism businesses to attract more visitors, encourage longer stays and increase spending across the North.

That opportunity was presented at the first-ever joint North of England Mayoral trade mission to India, where Northern Mayors, VisitBritain and tourism partners promoted the North’s collective visitor offer to 150 leading Indian travel buyers and media at events in New Delhi and Mumbai.

The Great North and VisitBritain activity falls under The GREAT Britain & Northern Ireland Campaign which aims to enhance the UK’s global reputation and drives economic growth by encouraging international audiences to visit, study, trade and invest in the UK.

By coming together around a shared proposition, the North’s cities, destinations and visitor attractions can offer international visitors an experience greater than the sum of its parts, combining globally recognised sport, music and culture with heritage, countryside, screen tourism and premium experiences.

Looking at this year, VisitBritain forecasts 597,000 visits from India to the UK, with visitors estimated to spend £865 million during their trips. By making it easier for the international travel trade to build multi-destination Northern itineraries, partners aim to encourage more of those visitors to explore the North, stay longer and spend across more destinations.

The relationships established during the mission will continue in November when Indian travel buyers and media travel to the North for Spotlight Manchester: Gateway to Northern England and North Wales, providing a further opportunity to turn interest into bookable itineraries and longer-term trade partnerships.

Kim McGuinness, North East Mayor and Chair of The Great North, said, “We want Indian visitors to enjoy everything Britain has to offer, but to travel further, stay longer and experience more. From our great cities and spectacular landscapes to Premier League football, international cricket, castles, culture and coastline, the North has an incredible amount to offer.

The North East is a place I'm incredibly proud to call home, and our greatest strength is the warmth and hospitality of our people. We've experienced that same wonderful welcome in India, and I want us to return it to many more Indian visitors.

By bringing our regions together through The Great North, we're putting the North of England on the international stage. Now we want to work with the Indian travel trade to turn that opportunity into unforgettable journeys, more visitors and bookings, and lasting economic benefits for our communities.”

Steve Rotheram, Mayor of the Liverpool City Region, said: “The Liverpool City Region has so much to offer Indian visitors. We’re the UK’s cultural capital, home to The Beatles, two Premier League football clubs and an internationally renowned music, arts and cultural scene.

As the UK’s third most visited region by international visitors, our visitor economy generates almost £7 billion a year and supports more than 58,000 local jobs. And beyond the world-class attractions, there’s nowhere quite like Liverpool when it comes to the warmth of our welcome.

India’s growing tourism market presents a fantastic opportunity for the entire North, and through The Great North, we want to showcase the very best our regions have to offer, encouraging visitors to explore more, stay longer and experience the distinctive character of the North.

Our message is simple: come and discover a city region with the ambition, infrastructure and connectivity to make every visit memorable.”

Tracy Brabin, Mayor of West Yorkshire, said, “From Bronte Country to bustling nightlife, Hepworth to Hockney, West Yorkshire has so much culture at its heart. Across Yorkshire, tourism, including screen tourism, is worth a whopping £9 billion every year. As the partnership of the Great North, we can showcase our spectacular sights, vibrant culture, and encourage more people to explore our regions.”

Patricia Yates, CEO, VisitBritain, said, “We are proud to be working alongside Mayors, destinations and industry leaders from across the North of England to support the tourism programme for the inaugural North of England Mayoral Delegation to India, one of our fastest-growing markets.

Drawing on our in-market expertise and relationships in India, we are telling the story of the North of England’s outstanding tourism offer, from its vibrant cities, rich heritage and spectacular scenery to world-class sporting grounds and visitor experiences. Working directly with the travel trade in India gets our products sold and broadens itineraries, so visitors explore further, stay longer and spend more.

Strong and growing air connectivity between India and the regional gateway of Manchester is making it easier than ever for visitors to discover more. With India forecast to become a £1.5 billion visitor market for the UK by 2030, our destination showcase event is a timely and valuable opportunity to drive growth and visitor spending across the region and beyond.”

Francine Bult, Senior Marketing Executive at Cumbria Tourism, said, “This collaborative Indian trade mission is another fantastic opportunity to showcase our destination to a fast-growing global visitor market. Working together across the North, it’s vital to forge direct one-to-one relationships and ensure tour operators have the right information at the right time to plan their schedules for 2027 and beyond. Key markets like India are vital to sustaining a thriving visitor economy, and we will continue working hard with our Northern partners to put relationships with inbound operators and product development at the forefront of our international marketing activity.”

Angela Hodson, Commercial Director at Lancashire Cricket, said, “India is an incredibly important market for Lancashire Cricket and Manchester, and we are proud of the strong connections we have built with cricket in India over many years.

With India set to return to Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground for major international fixtures in both 2028 and 2029, we have a fantastic opportunity to welcome even more visitors from India to the City. We also have Manchester Super Giants playing in The Hundred at our venue as part of our joint venture with RPSG Group – who also own IPL franchise Lucknow Super Giants.

From Catchday hospitality and events to our on-site Hilton Garden Inn hotel at Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground, there is a real opportunity to showcase Manchester and the North as a destination in its own right. Working collectively through The Great North gives us an opportunity to build on that appeal, create experiences for Indian visitors and encourage them to stay longer and return in the future.”

 Turning international interest into visits

As part of the North of England Mayoral trade mission, destinations and tourism businesses took part in the England’s Great North Destination Showcase 2026 in Delhi and Mumbai.

Representatives from Marketing Manchester, Cumbria Tourism, Marketing Liverpool, West Yorkshire Local Visitor Economy Partnership and Experience NorthEast England joined businesses and attractions from across the region to build relationships with Indian travel buyers and media, with a focus on developing bookable products and expanding Northern itineraries.

The activity will continue in November through Spotlight Manchester: Gateway to Northern England and North Wales, hosted by VisitBritain and Marketing Manchester. The event will bring Indian travel buyers and media to the region to experience its visitor offer first-hand and build relationships with destinations and tourism businesses.

By turning the connections established in India into bookable itineraries and longer-term trade partnerships, the programme aims to create a lasting legacy from the mission and support the North in securing a greater share of international tourism growth.

The tourism programme forms part of The Great North’s wider ambition to harness the collective scale and strengths of the North of England to compete internationally and generate new opportunities for trade, investment and tourism.

New wilderness retreat adds Tadoba to SHRL’s growing presence across India’s leading wildlife destinations

Chennai,October 2026: Sterling Holiday Resorts Limited (SHRL) has announced the opening of Sterling Vanyatara Tadoba in Maharashtra’s Chimur region, adding another significant location to its growing portfolio of jungle resorts across India.

With a presence across many of India’s leading wildlife destinations, Sterling is building wilderness travel as a distinct leisure category. Vanyatara brings Tadoba into this strategy while strengthening the company’s presence in Maharashtra.

The opportunity is larger than the safari itself. India’s forests differ in landscape, ecology, regional culture and culinary traditions, giving travellers reasons to return — not simply for another tiger sighting, but to discover another forest and a different way of experiencing the wild.

This also makes wilderness travel a richer family holiday. The anticipation of a safari can sit alongside comfortable stays, nature-led activities, regional cuisine and time together that engages different generations.

Vikram Lalvani, Managing Director & CEO, Sterling Holiday Resorts Limited (SHRL), said: “India’s forests offer far more than wildlife sightings. Each has its own landscape, ecology, culture and cuisine—and therefore a different reason to travel. At Sterling, we see wildlife and nature-led holidays as an increasingly important part of our hospitality portfolio, and we are deliberately building depth in this category.

As Destination Architects, our ambition is to make the forest the experience, not just the safari. Sterling Vanyatara Tadoba strengthens that proposition while creating opportunities to connect destinations such as Pench, Tadoba and Tipeshwar into richer journeys for families and wildlife enthusiasts.

Our ambition is not simply to take travellers on more safaris. It is to give them more of India's wilderness to discover.”

Located with access to five safari gates of the Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve, Sterling Vanyatara Tadoba has been purposely designed as an intimate 18-key wilderness retreat, allowing the stay to remain personal, quiet and closely connected to its setting.

Indulge Rooms with Sit-out offer elegant furnishing with seamless connection to the outdoors, Forest Villas opens to private lawns and greater seclusion, and the Two-Bedroom Villas provide generous shared and private spaces with a private lawn. A swimming pool, spa and outdoor areas create easy downtime between excursions.

As a part of the weekly evening rituals a visual story telling sessions with Naturalists, cultural performances by the Gond tribe artists and Saoji cuisine showcase by the rural folks; all designed to offer immersive experiences beyond the Safari.

Vidarbha’s culinary traditions provide another connection to the region. At The Jungle Table, the bold, fiery flavours of Vidarbha's traditional Saoji cuisine take centre stage. The choices here are Inspired by the popular street food of Nagpur and Shedgaon with the Zunka Bhakar with Thecha and Pitla -picked from hamlets of the Gond tribes, alongside a rich selection of Indian and international favourites. The dining experience extends beyond the restaurant with leisurely post-safari high teas and intimate private dinners beneath the stars, bringing a touch of indulgence to the wilderness.

Access to the Alizanza, Madnapur, Shirkheda, Belara and Shedegaon safari gates, subject to permits, provides flexibility in planning excursions into the reserve.

Mr. Ashok L Bhaiyya and Mr. Gaurav Bhaiyya, Partners, Sterling Vanyatara Tadoba, said: “What attracted us to Tadoba was the power of the wilderness and the opportunity to create a retreat where the experience continues after guests return from the forest. We wanted space, privacy and a strong sense of place to define the stay. Sterling’s understanding of Indian leisure travel and its ability to build richer journeys especially around the wildlife destinations makes it a natural partner for that vision.”

With Sterling already present in Pench and Tipeshwar, Tadoba can become part of a Pench–Tadoba–Tipeshwar forest circuit, allowing travellers to experience three distinct wilderness landscapes as part of one larger journey.

For SHRL, this is where scale begins to compound in value. Each new resort broadens traveller choice, enables new circuits and gives families more reasons to keep discovering India’s forests with Sterling.

Sterling Creates Capacity for 34,200 Dialysis Treatments Annually Across Underserved India.

₹2.25 crore committed towards the Dialysis Project across India | Creating enduring healthcare capacity beyond India’s metros

Chennai, Oct 2026 Sterling Holiday Resorts Limited (SHRL), one of India’s leading hospitality companies, has strengthened its commitment to community healthcare by supporting dialysis infrastructure capable of delivering most essential treatments unhindered, annually across underserved regions of India.

Under its philosophy of ‘Doing Good by Doing Well’, Sterling has committed ₹2.25 crore across FY2024-25 and FY2025-26 towards supporting the dialysis project, of which 38 machines have been provided across 19 hospitals and healthcare institutions creating a capacity for 34,200 treatments annually.

The initiative reflects Sterling’s approach to CSR: moving beyond financial contribution towards creating measurable, enduring community healthcare assets whose impact can multiply year after year.

Taking Critical Healthcare Beyond the Metros

A defining focus of Sterling’s CSR initiative has been to bring critical renal-care infrastructure closer to communities outside India’s major metropolitan centres.

For patients requiring dialysis several times a week, access to treatment can often involve repeated travel, lost working hours and significant financial strain on families. By supporting infrastructure closer to where patients live, Sterling aims to reduce this burden while strengthening local healthcare capacity.

The initiative reaches Tier II and Tier III cities, district headquarters and underserved communities across Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Uttarakhand, Andhra Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.

Sterling-supported machines have been deployed across government hospitals, medical colleges, district hospitals and community healthcare institutions serving populations well beyond their immediate locations.

From CSR Spend to Healthcare Capacity

Sterling measures the programme not merely by the money deployed or machines installed, but by the healthcare capacity created.

The initiative has also delivered wider economic and community benefits, including reported patient savings of approximately ₹2.05 crore and the creation of 260 local employment opportunities across the healthcare ecosystems supported by the programme.

More significantly, a dialysis machine is not a one-time intervention. It is a healthcare asset capable of serving communities year after year.

That means the social return on Sterling’s CSR investment has the potential to compound over time—through more treatments, lower patient costs, stronger healthcare infrastructure and greater access to care closer to home.

Vikram Lalvani, Managing Director & CEO, Sterling Holiday Resorts Limited, said:

“‘Doing Good by Doing Well’ reflects a simple belief at Sterling—that as our business grows, the positive impact we create around us should grow with it.

Through our CSR initiatives, we have already supported 38 dialysis machines across 19 healthcare institutions, creating capacity for approximately 34,200 treatments every year, particularly in communities where access to specialised healthcare can be challenging. What makes this meaningful is its ability to endure. Each machine becomes a community healthcare asset that can serve patients year after year—reducing travel, easing the financial burden on families and strengthening healthcare capacity where it is needed most.

For us, that is the real measure of meaningful CSR: not simply what we spend, but the capacity we create and the impact that continues long after the investment is made.”

Creating Impact That Multiplies

As Sterling continues to expand its hospitality footprint across India, the Company intends to focus its CSR investments on interventions capable of creating measurable, scalable and lasting social impact.

The objective is to ensure that Sterling’s growth creates value not only for guests, partners and shareholders, but also for the communities it touches.
